She couldn’t find a good reason to make an excuse! She lay beneath him in compromise, all because she needed money.
But what she needed the money for, she hadn’t told him.
Caden Lockwood scrutinized Evelyn Morgan back and forth, with deep emotions welling up inside him. In his inky eyes, there was a chilling and fearso coldness.
Lowering his gaze, Caden spoke coldly, "Tell the reason."
Evelyn was still too nervous to open her eyes.
The buzzing chaos in her mind had never ceased, and every hair on her body showed how frightened she was at that mont.
Her thin lips moved, but they quivered in a panic.
Evelyn felt like crying and screaming loudly, yet she could do nothing.
Only one belief supported her: to set Cecilia Lynch free!
After all, between her and Caden Lockwood, it seed they couldn’t separate easily!
He didn’t intend to let her go.
With her abilities, she couldn’t break free.
Taking a deep breath, Evelyn opened her eyes. Seeing Caden Lockwood’s handso yet cold face, all the courage that had just surfaced shrank back again.
"I..." Evelyn trembled, "can’t tell you the reason."
Caden’s dark brows furrowed, "Can’t?"
"But I promise, it won’t harm you!" Evelyn added, "Just... a million, that’s all. I... I’m begging you... please help..."
Looking at Evelyn’s face, almost on the brink of tears, Caden beca even more agitated.
A million?
Dammit!
What exactly does she want to do with so much money?
His large hand gently stroked her cheek, the pad of his finger feeling the soft skin, as his strength increased, leaving a red mark across her face.
Evelyn trembled more fearfully.
She looked at Caden Lockwood, opened her mouth, wanting to say sothing, yet couldn’t utter a single syllable.
A chill surged through her body, freezing every cell.
"A million. I’ll give it to you." Caden’s eyes shone with an intense cold light, his voice as chilling as ice, "But, Evelyn, listen carefully to what I’m about to say."
Evelyn clenched her fists tightly; such a Caden Lockwood fulfilled her request yet made her incredibly fearful.
He was arrogant, cold, indifferent, ruthless; his gaze held no tenderness, only coldness, making it hard to et his eyes.
"I do want you; I’ve never hidden that desire." His gaze turned more sinister, "But."
He paused at this point.
Evelyn’s heart leapt to her throat.
Her heart was pounding as if it would jump out of her chest; she felt like Caden Lockwood was consuming her bit by bit.
He was so powerful, as the light cast his shadow upon her, trapping her firmly within his world, leaving her unable to act on her will.
"What I want is for you to be willing; if I had to use coercion or forceful ans, I wouldn’t have waited until now." Caden’s eyes narrowed slightly, cracking with a terrifying cold light, "So, this is a warning for the future!"
