Caden Lockwood stood still, looking at the back of Julian Keaton, and sighed helplessly.
Thinking about how Evelyn Morgan borrowed money to help Cecilia Lynch get rid of Julian Keaton, Caden’s heart was filled with mixed emotions.
It’s probably his own issue!
Every ti sothing happened, his darker side would erge, wondering if Evelyn and Logan Shaw had developed feelings for each other.
This darker side was his newfound insecurity.
He had to admit, hearing Evelyn drunkenly confess her liking for Logan Shaw had always bothered him.
Even now, he hasn’t been able to forget or co to terms with it.
And the fact is, it was his mistake.
In his mind echoed Evelyn’s words, half complaint, half joke: "Even when you’re so biased, can’t you offer a little trust?"
He finally understood her mood at the ti, it must have been a helpless entanglent!
And with him like this, how could he expect her to willingly give herself to him and spend a lifeti together?
Taking out his phone, Caden dialed the familiar number, a deep tenderness on his brow.
Evelyn was still puzzled about what was wrong with Julian Keaton.
Why would a grown man run off in such a frenzy, what happened?
Just at this mont, Evelyn’s phone rang.
She took out her phone and saw it was a call from Caden Lockwood.
She instinctively looked back and saw Caden standing in the office.
At this mont, he was looking at her with a complex gaze.
Evelyn’s heart inexplicably tightened.
The distance between them wasn’t far, so why make a call?
Could it be, sothing really bad happened!
After hesitating for a mont, Evelyn pressed the answer key.
"Madam, co to my side." Caden’s voice was low and gentle, indescribably lodious.
Evelyn was stunned, feeling that sothing was indeed wrong.
Oh, God!
Are they about to argue again?
She hadn’t done anything excessive these past two days, had she?
Could it be that Julian said sothing nonsense to Caden?
With a numb scalp, Evelyn’s first thought was to run away.
But, where could she run to?
If she didn’t successfully escape and was caught by Caden, the outco would only be worse!
Her back feeling cold, Evelyn could only hang her head, dejectedly walking towards Caden’s office.
It was just a few steps away, but Evelyn walked very slowly.
She was still thinking about what she should do if Caden lost his temper later.
If he was angry, she wouldn’t even know why!
She was so frustrated.
Why did she have to know such a strong man?
Caden stood in place, taking in Evelyn’s wronged and frightened expression without missing a beat.
Was she... afraid of him?
Even though he had tried his best to show his gentle side to her, in the end, she was still so afraid of him?
Caden raised his eyebrow, relaxed his chest, and stared at Evelyn, coolly saying, "What bad thing have you done?"
"I... haven’t done anything!" Evelyn’s eyes trembled, and goosebumps rose all over her body.
Thinking carefully, she couldn’t think of anything she’d done to provoke Caden.
"Mm, you haven’t," Caden responded.
Evelyn looked up, completely confused, not knowing what Caden wanted to do at this mont.
Raising his hand, Caden pulled Evelyn into his embrace, gently stroking the back of her head, the motion tender and loving.
Tightening his arms, Caden held Evelyn closer, then softly said, "I was wrong."
