However, even though Evelyn Morgan compromised like this, Caden Lockwood still didn’t speak up.
He just stared at her intently, his gaze looking sharp yet strange.
"Hey!" Evelyn was anxious and embarrassed, "What more do you want?"
"What are you trying to say, exactly?" Caden asked softly.
"Isn’t it... obvious?" Evelyn stamred.
She thought she had made it clear enough!
Caden shook his head, his dark, deep eyes filled with intense complexity.
Evelyn’s palms were sweaty as she complained, "Aren’t you usually pretty smart?"
"When it cos to your logic, I can’t just guess randomly. If I guess wrong, I’m the one who suffers." Caden spoke in a calm tone, seemingly with a bit of complaint.
Evelyn’s lips curled awkwardly. She silently thought: How much prejudice does he have against her?
Too lazy to care, Evelyn boldly spoke out, "Anyway, I’m already married to you, and more and more people know that I’m Mrs. Lockwood. If we divorce now, it would just make it a second marriage. Besides, you’re handso, rich, considerate, and gentle. It seems like I’m the one who benefits from this marriage, so I... I..."
She closed her eyes tightly, took a deep breath, and then shouted, "Uncle, my period started today, so I’m a little inconvenient. But it won’t last long, three days at the shortest, five days at the longest. Please... bear with it."
Evelyn’s voice was loud, and occasionally a few people on the road glanced over at Caden Lockwood.
Caden stood there, looking at Evelyn who was hiding in his embrace, her words from earlier echoing around him.
Bear with it?
Bear it for three days at the shortest, five days at the longest?
Did she an it in a way he was overthinking?
Caden’s gloomy expression brightened, his dark eyes filled with tender gentleness and wild joy.
"Wife." Caden’s tone was cautious, as if afraid of scaring sothing away, "Does this an... you’re willing?"
Evelyn refused to show her face, her heart seeming like it would leap out of her chest.
So things didn’t need to be said so explicitly, right?
She’s still young!
She can be shy!
"Really... willing?" Caden asked again, his hands holding Evelyn trembling with excitent.
Evelyn was speechless, curiously wanting to see Caden’s expression, but was too shy to et his gaze.
This foolish man, is he really that happy?
Unable to deny her feelings, Evelyn peeked out with one eye at Caden.
Seeing his face with an unabashedly bright smile, she softly mumbled "Mm."
"Wife! You’re amazing!" Caden hugged Evelyn tightly, the light shining on his face, illuminating his unrestrained happiness.
Evelyn looked at Caden, the corners of her lips curved into a faint smile, her restless and fearful heart strangely calming down at this mont.
In her amber eyes, there were two tiny reflections of him, and she kept looking at him, blinking seed like a luxury.
Ignoring the gaze of others, Caden continued to stride forward, opened the car door, placed Evelyn in the back seat, and imdiately captured her sweet lips.
Evelyn was instantly dumbfounded.
Didn’t she tell him that she was not convenient right now?
Why is he still...
Evelyn wanted to break free from Caden’s embrace, but he instead held her hands, placing them behind her head, forcing her to be unable to move.
He sat directly on her lap, using one hand to lift her chin, kissing her forcefully.
