Lightly biting her lip, Evelyn stared blankly at Caden Lockwood’s wild and unruly handso face, so proud, as if the warm-hearted words just now were never spoken by him.
And yet, she heard them clearly and undeniably—it was him who said them.
Did he say that just to make her laugh?
Was he really that kind?
Nonetheless, her sad mood was chased away quite a bit, and she felt a lot lighter.
"Yes!" She sighed deeply, "Even though there are many people in this world, not many love , so I must love myself well and laugh heartily!"

Hearing Evelyn’s brief blessing, Caden’s brows furrowed tightly, and his gaze instantly darkened.
He stepped forward and grasped her wrist, coldly questioning, "Who ca to see you?"
"Huh?" Evelyn’s eyes trembled, "Wha-what’s wrong?"
"Soone my dad sent?" Caden pressed, "What did they tell you? Did they do anything to you?"

Had his father already made a move on Evelyn this quickly?
Caden thought his father wouldn’t make a move at this mont!
"What nonsense!" Evelyn frowned, trying to pull her hand back.
But he held tightly, his icy gaze pressing on her, leaving her no escape.
"It was Eleanor Keaton!" she snapped, tone unfriendly, "She ca up to and told she’s about to marry you, so I congratulated you!"
Hearing this, Caden let out a slight sigh of relief.
Seeing the red marks on Evelyn’s wrist, made by his grip, he withdrew his hand and awkwardly stuck both hands in his pockets, his gaze darkly swirling around before finally settling on her face.
"What else did she say?" Caden asked.
"Said you two are setting the wedding this weekend!" Evelyn replied offhandedly as she rubbed the sore spot on her wrist, "And also..."
A glint appeared in her eyes as she winked at him and then intentionally mocked, "She said she’s so enchanted and enjoying it that she doesn’t want to stop."
Caden’s face darkened, shooting a glare at Evelyn, he spoke coldly, "You believe her?"
"Why wouldn’t I?" she was confused by his question, "You’re going to be husband and wife; it’s only natural you do anything!"
"But..." she drawled, her voice turning deep, "Uncle, you know Eleanor doesn’t like my presence, so why don’t you cancel my debts and dismiss , which will also benefit your harmonious family life, right?"
Caden chuckled coldly, rapping Evelyn’s forehead, "Do you think you’re the only smart one in the world and everyone else is a fool?"
"I..."
"Don’t worry!" Caden turned and as he took a step, a mysterious smile curved at his lips, "My wife will like you very much."
