Her whole body trembled heavily as Evelyn hurriedly threw the marriage certificate onto the ground. Her mind was spinning slowly, and even moving her eyes was a struggle.
She had to clarify one question imdiately: Is this marriage certificate real or fake?
Although she knew very clearly that she hadn’t been to the Civil Affairs Bureau and that this marriage certificate couldn’t possibly be real,
whenever she thought of her uncle’s domineering and deep eyes, she inexplicably felt guilty and sohow believed the certificate was real.
Impossible!
The marriage certificate must be fake!
Her heart was pounding, and she couldn’t afford any mistakes. She quickly picked up her phone and dialed Caden Lockwood’s number.
Right now, he was the only one who could give her a reasonable explanation!
At this mont, Caden Lockwood was outside the banquet hall, standing in a quiet place.
His gaze was fixed on the distance, as if he were waiting for sothing.
The phone rang, and a faint smile appeared on his lips as he looked at the two words on the phone screen: Wife.
That girl has received the marriage certificate!
After waiting several seconds, imagining the other person on the line going crazy, he finally pressed the answer button.
The mont the call connected, he heard Evelyn’s roaring questions: "Uncle! What are you playing at? Why did you send a fake marriage certificate?!"
Her voice was filled with intense trembling, a mixture of anxiety and fear.
Goosebumps rose on her skin, her whole body tingled, and an overwhelming coldness surged from the depths of her heart, quickly freezing her entirely, even making her breath icy.
Caden Lockwood furrowed his brows slightly, his tone indifferent as he asked, "Who said it’s fake?"
"How could it not be fake!" Evelyn felt she was about to go mad. "I haven’t left ho at all; when did I ever go to the Civil Affairs Bureau! You tricked into taking photos, at most that’s only enough to forge a fake certificate!"
She paused, then continued to roar: "How long are you going to keep this up? Will you let go?"
His dark eyes narrowed, Caden Lockwood’s fingers gripping the phone turned pale, and a look of extre displeasure appeared on his face.
Even through the phone, Evelyn could feel the coldness that Caden Lockwood conveyed, making her shiver.
"The Black Swan Hotel, first floor banquet hall." Each word from Caden Lockwood was deliberate. "If you want to know what’s going on, co over yourself."
As soon as he finished speaking, he pressed the end call button.
Evelyn was dumbstruck, listening to the beeping in her ear. After standing there for a while, she quickly grabbed her bag and headed to the Black Swan Hotel.
Due to the urgency of the situation, she even had to splurge on a taxi to find out the truth as soon as possible.
Caden Lockwood put his hands in his pockets, looking at the sky, which was clear and vast, perfectly suited for a joyful union.
At this mont, Julian Keaton walked over to Caden Lockwood’s side, following his gaze to the sky, and was inexplicably delighted.
"I seem to sll a big conspiracy." Julian Keaton joked, "What’s the First Young Master Lockwood planning to perform today?"
Caden Lockwood turned back, casting a cold glance at Julian Keaton, his thin lips parting softly: "A good show."
Hearing this, Julian Keaton couldn’t help but laugh.
He looked at Caden Lockwood with a face full of ambiguity and said with a smile: "Then I’ll be looking forward to the show! Is there anything you need my help with? I can do it for free!"
