Aunt May was also helpless; she couldn’t reveal that the man Evelyn constantly longed for was actually Mr. Shaw. He had only instructed her to persuade Evelyn Morgan to accept this marriage.
This was indeed a tough task for her.
Having taken care of the young lady for so many years, when had she ever seen her cry so miserably?
"I don’t care." Evelyn wiped her tears as she packed, "I want to leave this place! Aunt May, if there’s still any affection between us, don’t stop ! I won’t co back! I won’t study anymore! I’ll live sowhere no one knows , living the life that belongs to !"
After all, she had no hope left now; it would be the sa wherever she lived.
"Miss!" Aunt May blocked the door, "You can’t run away! If you do, Mr. Shaw will bla !"
"Then run away with !" Evelyn urged, "I’ll earn money and take care of you!"
"Miss is being rebellious." In desperation, Aunt May just said whatever reason she could think of, "Mr. Shaw gave you the chance to live. Now, if he asks you to marry and you run away, how can he face the Lockwood Family?"
Upon hearing this, Evelyn instantly fell silent.
Her tears dried up on their own, and scenes of Logan Shaw embracing another woman flashed through her mind. It was as if a wound had been opened in her heart, bleeding and painful.
Her secret love had been utterly declared a failure, and she was forced to marry soone else. Could her fate be any crueler?
If she had to repay Logan Shaw by sacrificing her own happiness for the rest of her life, wasn’t that too cruel?
"I’ll repay what I owe him in another way." Wiping away her tears, a look of determination appeared on Evelyn’s face. "Aunt May, stay here and wait for . I’ll be right back."
Saying so, Evelyn dropped her luggage and ran outside.
She almost forgot that her ID was still in Caden Lockwood’s possession. It was too late to get a replacent; she needed to steal it back and run as far away as possible with Aunt May!
The night had fallen, and Caden Lockwood sat in the villa waiting for Evelyn. He wasn’t very confident that she would obediently co and be his wife.
Perhaps she needed more ti to adapt.
He could give her ti, but she had to be by his side, to get used to him, to accept him.
The room was already stocked with her favorite foods, and everything she needed was prepared.
Now, he was only missing her.
His poised deanor exuded a sharp dominance; his gaze was like a deep pool, a shadow fell over his face, making it hard to discern his true intentions, rendering him even more mysterious and unpredictable...
After getting out of the car, Evelyn ran to the entrance of Caden Lockwood’s villa. The lights inside were on; she guessed he must be ho.
Based on past habits, once he got ho, he would take off his suit and hang it on the rack in the master bedroom.
She rembered he had casually placed her ID in the pocket of the suit, so as long as she sneaked into the master bedroom, she could retrieve her ID!
She didn’t expect him to be so generous as to return the ID to her willingly, so she could only think of stealing it.
Co quietly, leave quietly, she would disappear completely from his life.
Her heart pounded wildly, "thump thump," it was the first ti she’d ever done sothing like a thief.
Even though she was only retrieving her own belongings, she still felt extrely nervous.
Forcing herself to calm down, she took a deep breath and, using her familiarity with the villa, went to the storage room to fetch a ladder. She placed it under the balcony of the second-floor bedroom and climbed up, easily entering the master bedroom.
She walked gently, not daring to alert Caden Lockwood in the living room.
In the dim light, the suit on the rack ca into view, and her eyes brightened at once. She imdiately stepped forward to search the pockets of his suit.
