Chapter 114: The Summoning Ritual

Silence, an overwhelming silence.

When Bell Moonshadow spoke those words, Vivian no longer maintained even the most basic decorum. Her smile vanished.

Unlike Bell Moonshadow’s defiant expression, Vivian’s eyes were nothing but cold.

"Whether I’m qualified or not—you’ll find out on the dueling platform."

"Looking forward to it—"

"Enough."

Seeing the two about to challenge each other at the slightest disagreent, Janna, with a slight frown, imdiately intervened.

"Bell, Vivian is my friend. I hope you can speak to her more politely. Otherwise, I don’t think we should team up."

"My apologies."

Seeing the obvious displeasure in Janna’s expression, Bell Moonshadow, realizing her misstep, promptly fell silent and chose to apologize.

"It’s fine, Janna. Even if we don’t spar today, sooner or later, I’ll have a solo session with Bell."

Seeing Vivian’s expression nearly lose control, Janna silently sighed and gently held Vivian’s trembling left hand.

"Sorry, that was my fault just now."

Seeing the other party apologize again, and still concerned about appearances, Vivian also cald her anger slightly. However, looking at Bell Moonshadow’s face, the grudge-holding Vivian simply couldn’t bring herself to say anything conciliatory.

She turned her head and said to Janna:

"Nightti is when shadow creatures are most active. For efficiency, I suggest we set off at midnight sharp. eting point—cafeteria entrance. How’s that?"

"No problem."

After confirming the ti with Janna, Vivian turned her head away and resud her composed deanor as she looked toward Bell Moonshadow.

"And you, Bell?"

"Fine by ."

Seeing everyone reach an agreent, Janna, who feared they might really start fighting, breathed a quiet sigh of relief.

"Janna, I’ve got things to do. I’ll head out first."

"Alright."

Vivian, unable to maintain her smile any longer, bid farewell to Janna and walked off toward the dormitory without looking back.

Seeing this, Bell Moonshadow also nodded to Janna and left in the opposite direction.

These two again… With a slightly helpless sigh, Janna, having finalized the teammates and departure ti, turned and proceeded as originally planned—toward the Magic Tower.

Bang—shutting the dormitory door behind her, Janna placed the bag containing the Spirit Summoning ritual materials onto the lab bench. She brushed back her hair and tossed her Wizard Robe onto the bed.

"This cost a good bit again."

After unpacking the ritual materials onto the desk, Janna gazed a bit ruefully at a crimson Magic Stone, utterly transparent and glimring.

"Expensive, yes—but you get what you pay for. The quality speaks for itself."

Unlike the low-grade Magic Stones she’d purchased in the past, this ti, Janna had gone all in to buy a mid-grade Fire Magic Stone to ensure the ritual’s success.

Aside from its striking appearance, the rich fire-elental energy almost burned her hand when she touched it.

"Don’t let down."

With practiced movents, she placed the trimd Sea Beast Hide onto the lab bench. Without any pause, Janna picked up the Mithril Short Knife and smoothly carved the Summoning Array into the hide.

Next, she opened the glass bottle containing Laurel Flower Powder and, moving counterclockwise, evenly sprinkled it over the surface of the Silver-Faced Round Mirror.

"This—"

Flas burst forth. Placing the lit Spiritual Candle and the Fire Magic Stone at the center of the mirror, Janna then picked up the Mithril Short Knife and gently cut her left palm, allowing crimson blood droplets to fall onto the mirror from her stark-white hand.

"Great Lord of the Spirit Realm, Sovereign of the Astral Realm, hear my will. Bestow upon your boundless might—the Spirit Realm’s Gate, open!"

Whoosh—flas surged, illusions flickered.

As the long Mykethan chants flowed from her lips, just like last ti, the Spiritual Candle at the center of the mirror erupted into a massive fla.

The temperature soared, candle wax dripped, and amid the crimson blaze, the Fire Magic Stone beside it suddenly flared with dazzling light.

However, the flas around the Fire Magic Stone weren’t the usual orange-red—they were a deep, soul-pulling shade of blue.

"Judging by this fire, this ti’s Spirit Summoning ritual connected to an extraordinary Fire Elental Plane."

After careful deliberation, Janna had ultimately chosen a Fire-elent Magic Stone as the dium for her second Spirit Summoning ritual.

Initially, she had struggled between Ice and Fire—two high-burst attributes. But in the end, she confronted her own plant-type weakness: "fire fear." Braving adversity, she chose Fire.

Plants feared fire—and cold too. But if she had to choose, Janna preferred not to face apprentices skilled in fire-based witchcraft.

From a strategic standpoint, Janna really should’ve chosen a water-elental Contract Summoned Creature.

However, among low-level elental spirits, all those tied to water could only fight in aquatic environnts. Once on land, they lost all advantage—so beca practically useless.

As for Ice, while it had so counter-effect against fire, it was just as vulnerable to environntal conditions as water spirits.

In icy environnts, ice spirits were not afraid of fire. But Janna was usually in temperate surroundings, which worked against them—making Ice elentals suppressed by Fire.

Just like Vivian, who had the Quick Freeze talent, never managed to gain the upper hand against Andre, who wielded the High Temperature talent, in normal conditions.

Of course, if Vivian faced Andre fully ard, Janna believed he wouldn’t last a few minutes.

Buzz—

As Janna waited, suddenly, a silvery-white light like rippling water rose from the mirror. As it grew in intensity, the round mirror at the center of the array slowly began to float.

Spirit Phase Travel—just as the ritual succeeded, Janna, already prepared, imdiately activated her talent.

As a band of radiant light passed through her pupils, the familiar weightlessness, along with whispering murmurs in her ears, consud her consciousness...
