Chapter 298: Noble Attire

Janna dismissed the idea of skipping class after just a brief consideration.

It wasn’t for any particular reason—her "model student" mindset simply wouldn’t allow her to make such a decision.

Today's performance was yet another rendition of Song of the Ocean, a play Janna had already perford countless tis.

Ordinarily, after four months of showing, even the most enthusiastic local audience would have grown tired of it.

However, the continuously rising sales of Song of the Ocean tapes ant that opera enthusiasts from other witch settlents kept flocking to Nightingale Opera House in a steady stream.

This not only prevented the show’s popularity from waning but also gave a boost to the tourism industry in Turin.

“Janna, your popularity is really skyrocketing!”

At four o’clock in the afternoon, having just completed the final performance of the day, Janna took her bow amidst a tide of enthusiastic applause.

Standing on stage beside her, Lichie-Siose looked enviously at the mountain of roses piled up in front of Janna and said, “Aren’t you the sa? I heard you just landed a new endorsent deal. I haven’t congratulated you yet.”

“Haha, you’re really well-inford. It’s still in the negotiation stage, but it’s pretty much a done deal.”

Seeing Lichie-Siose beaming with joy, Janna genuinely congratulated her.

Janna and Lichie-Siose had joined the Nightingale Opera Company on the sa day and were also from the sa witch academy, so their relationship was closer than that of others.

“Janna, do you have ti tonight? It’s been a while since we had a al together.”

“Lichie—”

Just as Lichie-Siose was planning to invite Janna to a fancy dinner, she saw Janna’s hesitant expression and imdiately caught on.

“Alright, alright. From that look on your face, I already know your evening is booked again. Totally my fault—I should’ve reserved a slot with our busy bee in advance.”

“I’m really sorry. I’ll treat you next ti.”

“Sure you will. Who knows when that ‘next ti’ will be—”

Hearing Lichie-Siose’s words, Janna could only shrug helplessly. Then the two parted ways and returned to their respective dressing rooms.

“Julie, I’ll be counting on you for what we talked about this morning.”

“No problem—I guarantee you’ll still be the most dazzling presence at tonight’s banquet.”

In front of the dressing table, Julie-An, who was removing Janna’s stage makeup, replied with confidence.

“Keep the makeup subtle, nothing too flashy.”

“Subtle, you say?”

Hearing Janna’s request, Julie-An pursed her lips as she applied cleansing oil to Janna’s face.

“Janna, you have no idea—your face simply can’t be subtle even without makeup. In fact, I’ve always thought you look better barefaced.”

Janna only chuckled at Julie-An’s comnt and said nothing more.

As the bearer of Extraordinary Charm and the Beauty Law Fragnt, Janna was fully aware of the level of her appearance.

Just as Julie-An said, her face alone was enough to draw attention—no matter what, it was impossible to go unnoticed.

When Janna ntioned subtlety earlier, she only ant that she didn’t want her makeup to be overly aggressive.

But upon further thought, she realized that no matter how bold or glamorous her makeup was, it could never truly feel “aggressive,” nor would anyone take her beauty in a negative light.

That was the overwhelming advantage granted by Extraordinary Charm and the Beauty Law Fragnt—people were simply drawn to her.

“All done. Take a look.”

At Julie-An’s words, Janna slowly opened her eyes, which had been closed in rest.

Julie-An had spent nearly an hour on the makeup and hairstyle.

Looking into the mirror, Janna saw a face with fresh yet exquisite makeup and nodded in satisfaction.

“Julie, your hands are getting more and more skillful.”

Not only had Julie-An done the makeup, she had also styled Janna’s hair into an elegant updo and finished the look with a pearl butterfly hairclip, which complented the pearl necklace around Janna’s neck perfectly.

“Well, it’s because the model is just too good—”

As she spoke, Julie-An didn’t forget to iron Janna’s moon-white gown and hang it beside the dressing mirror.

“I noticed you didn’t bring shoes that match the dress, so I found a new pair of heels in the wardrobe for you to try on.”

Moved by Julie-An’s thoughtfulness, Janna was once again impressed by her professionalism.

“You’re so considerate.”

After offering her praise, Janna changed into the gown and heels with Julie-An’s help, completing the final step of her preparation.

“Perfect! Your whole look today is just absolutely perfect!”

From hair and makeup to attire and accessories—at this mont, Janna looked completely different from her usual self, even from her stage persona. There was an almost surreal beauty to her.

“There’s no ti to lose. I need to get going—”

Seeing that the clock already showed 5:30, Janna didn’t even take a mont to admire herself in the mirror. She lifted her skirt and headed straight for the door.

“Julie, have you already told Winnie?”

“I did. He’s waiting at the back door right now—wait a second, Janna!”

Just as Janna was about to push the door open, Julie-An grabbed a white shawl and draped it over Janna’s shoulders.

“It’s still cold outside. Wear this to stay warm.”

“Alright, thank you, Julie.”

“You’re welco. It’s what I’m here for.”

After thanking Julie-An, Janna put on the shawl, opened the dressing room door, and quickly walked toward the back door.

“Janna, are you—”

At that mont, Hugh-Stone, just coming out from backstage, was stunned at the sight of the gorgeously dressed beauty before him. He froze on the spot, unable to take his eyes off her.

Ding-ling—

Without noticing the dazed Hugh-Stone behind her, Janna opened the back door and dashed onto the carriage in one swift motion.

“Winnie, we can leave now.”

“Ah—yes, Miss Janna.”

Winnie, who had been montarily distracted, hadn’t even noticed Janna boarding the carriage.

Only after hearing her voice from inside did he snap back to reality and skillfully steered the carriage toward the direction of Erald String, just as Julie-An had instructed him beforehand.

“Even though the road’s a bit congested now, thirty minutes should be enough.”
