Chapter 48: Law of Growth
“Hoo—inhale—hoo—exhale—”
A boundless sea of withered trees swayed as the cold wind rustled through the broken, dead leaves clinging to the branches.
The entire scene was lifeless and bleak.
“As expected, I’m dreaming again.”
Looking at the scene before her, Janna, who had long since grown accustod to this, did not stop ditating.
She maintained her breathing rhythm, gradually calming her spirit once more.
“This ti, the perspective seems a bit different.”
Unlike previous dreams where she viewed the world from the height of towering ancient trees, Janna clearly felt that her current field of view had beco much lower.
Not only that, she also noticed that the surrounding trees were no longer lush and verdant like those in her earlier dreams.
They were stunted, shrouded in a desolate aura of decay.
“This place… feels a lot like the Thorny Vines in the Misty Forest.”
As Janna silently observed from a third-person perspective, vibrant green motes of light suddenly began to gather around her.
With each passing mont, the light grew stronger until it turned into a sea of green, brimming with imnse vitality, swirling around her.
“Law… Growth—”
An ethereal, familiar voice suddenly echoed in Janna’s ears.
As the voice faded, the overwhelming sea of green surged outward like ribbons from her center, flooding towards the surrounding saplings.
“This is… the power of law?”
The dying forest of withered trees, which just monts before teetered on the brink of death, now blossod with new green shoots.
Trunks elongated rapidly, and Janna’s perspective rose again, returning to the heights of the tree canopy, restoring the view of the lush forest sea.
“Hoo—inhale—hoo—exhale—”
Spring returned to the deadwood, leaves danced with the wind.
Amidst the marks of growth in all things, Janna’s vision faded once more into darkness.
Accompanied by the sound of breathing during her ditation, her thoughts also drifted back into the real world.
“It’s already seven in the morning?”
Looking at the dim light outside the window and the ti displayed on her chanical clock, Janna noted that although only a mont seed to pass in the dream, nine hours had already elapsed in the real world.
“The Law of Growth… I didn’t expect this wand to contain a secret related to the Law of Growth.”
Picking up the Verdant Wand at her side, Janna was puzzled to find that she no longer felt the sa familiar connection to it.
“System, display Character Panel!”

Looking at the newly added entry under 【Law Authority】 on the Character Panel, Janna was filled with excitent.
That was the power of law—a force only true wizards could ever touch!
Moreover, only apprentices who had grasped the power of law qualified to advance and beco true wizards!
“I never thought that the law knowledge all Level 3 Wizard Apprentices desperately seek would fall into my hands, a re First Tier Wizard Apprentice, so easily.”
“Hoo—”
Taking a deep breath to calm her turbulent emotions, Janna turned her gaze to the reminder “Unlock Conditions Not t” beside the 【Law Fragnt of Growth】.
“What are the unlocking conditions? Could it an I need to reach Level 3 before I can access the knowledge within?”
Moreover, the word “fragnt” appended to 【Law of Growth】 also puzzled Janna.
From what she understood, to advance from a Level 3 Wizard Apprentice to a full-fledged witch, one not only needed to et the required class level, spirit power, and ecological foundation, but also to condense a complete Seed of Law.
When the formal promotion occurred, the Seed of Law would be nurtured by the witch’s will and the power of law, transforming it into a full-fledged 【Law Authority】 and receiving the recognition of the witch’s will.
But “Law Fragnt” sounded more like an incomplete, yet-to-be-perfected “Seed of Law.”
“Perhaps I should visit the library and rent a few books related to laws…”
Since Law Theory was a high-level course only taught to third-year students, Janna, driven by her current thirst for knowledge, clearly couldn’t wait that long.
“I’ve only got eighty Gold Surrels left in hand, and that’s part of the salary that the Nightingale Opera Troupe paid in advance for next month… So, I’ll have to tighten my belt a little before the next paycheck.”
Besides the newly added 【Law Authority】 entry, Janna also noticed another unexpected developnt—her 【Plant Affinity】 talent had mysteriously increased to fifteen percent, jumping up ten points.
“Maybe… the activation of the 【Law Fragnt of Growth】 is tied to the Plant Affinity talent… Once 【Soul Projection】 reaches A-rank, I can start focusing on upgrading 【Plant Affinity】.”
Since plant-based apprentices were generally support-oriented early on, Janna’s strategy had been to prioritize improving 【Soul Projection】 in order to strengthen her combat power by summoning contract beasts.
That was why she hadn’t invested much Talent EXP into 【Plant Affinity】.
However, as the frequency of her dream encounters increased, Janna had gradually uncovered more and more hidden information behind the 【System】.
Currently, she needed only fifteen percent more progress to upgrade 【Soul Projection】. To continue improving efficiently, Janna decided to keep investing her future Talent EXP into 【Soul Projection】 for now.
Once it reached A-rank, she would reassess and adjust her path to advancent accordingly.
“Knock knock knock—”
Just as Janna was reviewing her Character Panel, a series of urgent knocks ca from outside her dormitory.
“Door Spirit, are you sure Janna hasn’t left her dorm?”
“Of course I’m sure, dear Miss Vivian. Since Saturday night, Miss Janna has remained in her dorm the entire ti and hasn’t left even once…”
Upon hearing this, Janna was suddenly startled.
“So… I wasn’t dreaming for nine hours… but thirty-three hours…”
