Chapter 62: Source Energy Fragnt

“Ding—”

Just as Janna was slightly distracted, a familiar task prompt suddenly rang in her mind.

“Quest Panel.”

[Today's Quest: Complete an outdoor adventure (Completed);

Quest Reward: 100 Talent EXP, 500 Skill EXP, Spirit Power 0.1]

Looking at the "Completed" label on the Quest Panel, Janna felt a fleeting sense of confusion in her mory.

“When did this quest pop up? Why don’t I rember it at all?”

During these ten-plus hours, Janna had been constantly on edge, completely unaware that the [Daily Quest System] had quietly issued a task.

Fortunately, it was ultimately marked as completed.

“Character Panel.”

After allocating the Talent EXP to the [Soul Projection] talent, Janna directly summoned her attribute panel.

[Na: Janna Roland

“I rember last ti I checked the panel, Spirit Power was still at 17.8… Looks like, besides the quest reward, the recent ditation and intense spellcasting also helped boost it by 0.1.”

With the help of the Source Energy Fragnt, Janna’s apprentice level would soon reach that of a Second Tier Apprentice.

By then, once her Spirit Power surpassed 20, she would be able to attempt constructing a second Soul Circuit between the Wizard Tree and the Wizard World ecosystem, completing her advancent to a Second Tier Wizard Apprentice.

……

“Let’s go.”

Although the scenery of the Mirror Layer Domain was peculiar, it held little appeal for Richard Eva and Soro Flare—both Level 3 Wizard Apprentices who had already witnessed many interdinsional secret realms.

After rely observing for a mont, their gazes shifted back to the spatial rift in the distance, which was shrinking ever smaller.

Crack—

Watching the rift continue to narrow, the group—physically and magically exhausted—did not pause for a mont and swiftly stepped into the spatial rift.

They then traversed the long ant tunnel, returning to the Material World.

“Don’t restore magic here. Wait until we’re within the Magic Tower’s barrier.”

As they stepped out of the spatial rift and found no enemies lying in ambush, both Richard Eva and Soro Flare, with their ample experience, let out a sigh of relief and withdrew the spells that were ready to launch from their wands.

After all, a Blackbone Grove apprentice had entered the rift ahead of them.

If he had exited earlier and laid traps at the entrance, they would have been forced into another battle.

“Richard, did you bring your flying artifact?”

“If I had that thing, I’d have pulled it out long ago for everyone to use. Do you think I’d wait until now?”

“Never mind then. I thought you’d be prepared.”

With that, Soro waved his right hand, and a flying artifact shaped like a red velvet carpet appeared from the interdinsional space ring on his right hand.

“My previous flying artifact broke and hasn’t been repaired yet. All I have left is this sightseeing flying carpet. It’s a bit slow, but its carrying capacity is decent. Even with the four of us, it won’t be a problem.”

The flying magic carpet was a relatively low-tier lifestyle flying artifact.

It flew no higher than two ters and was only slightly faster than an average adult’s running speed.

Its advantage lay in its strong load capacity and comfort, often used for scenic tours or moving.

At this mont, Soro Flare brought out the carpet because everyone was suffering from magic depletion to so extent.

In fact, due to their inability to safely ditate and absorb magic in the Mirror Layer Domain, Soro Flare’s severed arm still hadn’t fully recovered.

“Senior Richard, this is for you. Also, here’s the purified Source Energy Fragnt.”

As she spoke, Janna handed both the [Guardian’s Veil] and the purified Source Energy Fragnt to Richard Eva.

The [Guardian’s Veil] was a top-tier apprentice-level artifact borrowed by Richard Eva from his family.

Now that they had exited the rift, it wasn’t convenient for Janna to keep carrying it in her pocket.

Items like the Source Energy Fragnt, which contained high energy, emitted a strong magical aura.

Without an interdinsional storage tool, Janna had no way to conceal that magical signature.

If they were ambushed on the way back and it got stolen, not only would it be a loss, but it might also make her a target or scapegoat.

Better to let the stronger Richard Eva hold onto it.

“Alright, we’ll distribute the loot once we’re back at the academy.”

Sensing the purified and untainted energy from the fragnt, Richard Eva couldn’t help but marvel inwardly.

“By the way, Janna, I’ll have to trouble you later to purify our contamination… Otherwise, the hair on my hands might start growing on my face.”

As he spoke, Richard Eva raised his furry right hand and sighed helplessly.

“ too. That bite from the Howling Moon Alpha in the Mirror Layer Domain left contaminated…”

Although Lo Silverfox remained silent, he too had been contaminated during the latter part of the battle.

“No problem. Once my contracted creature and I recover so magic, I’ll purify everyone.”

Due to prolonged and continuous casting of the Purification Barrier, the Celestial Finch in Janna’s arms was now in a semi-conscious state.

Over the nearly ten-hour duration, especially in the later stages, it had already exhausted its magic to the point where it could barely manage self-preservation.

After withdrawing the Purification Barrier from the others, the Celestial Finch devoted its remaining power to shielding Janna, not daring to waste a single drop.

This was also why Janna remained entirely free of contamination.

“Aph, once we’re back, I’ll be sure to reward you and Laura well…”

Rubbing the Celestial Finch’s soft head feathers, Janna then joined the others on the wide flying carpet.

Once Lo Silverfox cast another illusion to conceal their presence, the carpet carrying the four of them floated slowly and steadily away from the Misty Valley.

……

Crack—

Just as Janna and the others had flown off not long ago, a small, disheveled figure suddenly stumbled out of the spatial rift...
