Eira’s POV
The ceremony began with solemn dignity.
Evan stood at the center of the grand hall as the royal prayer to the Moon Goddess was offered. The chants echoed through the vast space, ancient and powerful, wrapping around the walls like a blessing woven from generations past.
After the prayer, he stepped forward to receive blessings from the elders of his pack. One by one, they approached him, placing their hands over his head or shoulders in symbolic acceptance.
Then ca the Alphas from other packs.
A declaration followed. Evan was formally acknowledged as the heir of the HollowCrest Pack.
The hall erupted in applause.
Gifts were presented next. Rare artefacts, precious tals, heirloom weapons, and treasures that spoke of alliances and respect were laid before him.
The ceremony slowly transitioned into celebration.
Music filled the air. Musicians took their places. The rigid structure of tradition gave way to warmth and festivity.
Evan shared his first dance with his mother.
Luna Iris moved with effortless grace, her hand resting delicately in her son’s as they circled the floor. It was not rely a dance. It was a statent of lineage, of love, of continuity.
The hall cheered softly as they completed their turn.
Soon, other couples began to join the floor.
Alpha Gerald stepped forward to take Luna Iris into his arms. They moved together in perfect harmony, years of bond evident in every step.
I watched them, quietly admiring the elegance of it all. My parents were perfect together.
"Shall we?" Kael’s voice murmured beside .
I turned to him as if he had suggested sothing scandalous.
"Of course not," I whispered urgently. "I don’t know how to dance like that."
"You will," he said simply, already rising.
Before I could protest further, he took my hand.
"Kael—"
"Trust ."
The certainty in his tone left no room for argunt.
He led to the dance floor.
My heart pounded wildly as we stepped among the other couples. I was painfully aware of the eyes around us.
"Kael, I don’t want to embarrass you," I muttered, panic creeping in.
He positioned my hand gently on his shoulder. His other hand enclosed mine, while his free hand settled firmly yet respectfully at the small of my waist.
"You could never embarrass ," he said quietly. "You are the reason for my pride."
My breath hitched.
"Just follow my lead."
At first, I was stiff. Hesitant. Afraid to misstep.
But I had been watching other won dancing.
Without realizing it, my mind had absorbed the rhythm and patterns of the others. And Kael... he was skilled. Confident. His movents guided mine seamlessly.
It felt as though he controlled every step, every turn, every shift of weight. I only had to trust him. Slowly, my body began to relax.
The music carried us.
And before I knew it, I was no longer counting steps or worrying about stumbling. I was simply moving with him. I surprised myself.
I could feel the weight of many eyes on us, but I chose to ignore them. My focus remained on Kael.
He was, without question, the most striking man on that floor. Tall, commanding, every movent precise and controlled. Even among royalty, he stood out.
I noticed the way the shewolves watched him. Their gazes lingered too long. Curious. Hungry. As if they had nothing else to see in this huge hall except for my mate.
Then I felt the shift in Kael. A slight tightening of his jaw. A faint frown between his brows.
"What happened?" I whispered, keeping my smile in place for the sake of appearances.
"I should not have brought you here," he muttered quietly.
My heart sank for a mont. "Why? Am I dancing that badly?"
His gaze swept across the hall before returning to .
"There are too many wolves staring at my beautiful mate," he said, his voice low and edged with restraint. "And my wolf wants to tear them apart."
The intensity in his eyes made my breath hitch. He ant it.
But, instead of shrinking from it, I laughed softly.
He lifted a brow at .
"I thought I was the only one who wanted to kill anyone who stares at my mate," I teased. "If you look around, half the she-wolves here are practically wet just by watching you."
A flicker of disgust crossed his face.
"They can go to hell with what they feel. The one I want to get wet because of , is already in my arms."
I let out a laugh, and he asked, "So, are you wet?"
"Can’t resist such a handso and perfect Alpha," I replied playfully.
Finally he smiled as if my playfulness had infected him. "I will make good use of it once we leave this event. It’s been a while since I got the taste of you."
"I look forward to it."
Just then soone approached us. Evan.
"May I have dance with my sister?" he asked.
I sucked in breath, looking around if soone heard him. But the music seed to have drowned his voice and I let out a sigh of relief.
"Of course," Kael stepped back, leaving to Evan.
If it was so other male, I was sure, his head would have been rolling on the ground by now.
As we moved together, Evan smiled, "I am fortunate I am your brother."
I understood his aning. And humd with light laugh. Having mate like Kael was enough to keep others away from .
"Forget about my mate, but aren’t you worried about those shewolves having eyes on you, and you chose to dance with ?" I asked.
"But I have eyes for none," he replied flatly.
"You are not of age, but what if one of them turns out to be your mate?"
"I don’t think there is one," He said confidently.
"Why do you say so?" I asked. I want my brother to have his mate.
"Though I can’t recognise my mate yet before my shift, I must feel a special pull or at least a tinge of interest in soone, but I didn’t. That ans, if I have a fated mate, she is not here."
"maybe she is just not in your sight yet among so many people," I suggested.
"Not sure," he said, "For now, let enjoy my first dance with my sister."
As we continued to dance, I couldn’t help but be a typical curious sister, "By the way, what kind of a woman do you wish to have as your mate?"
"Like my sister," he said.
It surprised . "Like ?"
"Yes," he said with confidence, "I want my mate to be a strong woman. And there’s no one stronger than you who faced so much in life but is still standing strong and tall. I do not wish to have a idler who only knows to please a mate and breed for him. I want soone who stands by my side equally."
I didn’t know what to say to him about his impression of .
"Also, you can handle five alpha’s like them," his gaze moved to my mates who were looking at us. Probably jealous that I was with other male, though he was my brother.
"Those five are considered the strongest among Alphas, but they are like puppies in front of you, worried to upset you or hurt you. That’s the kind of power you hold," he said, "And, you are not over dramatic you know. I almost though I would have to face a lot crying and drama once you knew you were my parents’ daughter, but you saved from seeing that. You are matured woman with no drama."
Damn! How much had he noticed about in just a day, the things that I didn’t even thought about myself.
"To it seems you are just being biased towards your sister, and trying to show your affection that you have been holding in for years towards your lost sister," I comnted.
"I won’t deny it. I have all the rights to be biased towards my sister and show my affection, but then every word I said, I ant it," he said firmly, "and you should also start looking at yourself in high regards. You don’t know how amazing you are and how many eyes are on you at this mont. You are like a shining star in the hall full of them. If not for your five dangerous mates, you would have been troubled by the bunch of suitors hitting at you."
My heart felt overwheld by what he said. Is this how it feels to have a brother, who is always there to support you? Alice was truly fortunate to have two of them.
"I feel like you are the older one here," I comnted.
"Maybe you can praise as well like an elder, so I feel like an younger one," he said playfully.
"I am not good with words, but yeah, I am so happy I have a brother like you."
"I have always been amazing."
I was all smiles with him. And when my gaze t with Alpha Gerald and Luna Iris, who were watching from the side, they seed to equally happy to their kids together.
