Even after Vanga-san and Martha-san had left, Dante-san was still in a foul mood.
Vault-san and Luna-san had been servants to the Sylphide family even before they beca nobles with land, so naturally, they were acquainted with Sophia.
That’s why Vault and Luna were happy to alternate holding Etoile.
Dante-san still had to bring his belongings to their new residence, but he complained that he did not want to leave Etoile’s side, so at Freesia-san’s instructions, I took his luggage out from my Item Box and she helped tidy it up.
Freesia-san begrudgingly took Dante-san’s luggage as she complained about him. I’m sure they will fight about it later.
「That man, forcing to tidy his belongings. Etoile-chan all to himself, he says……」
「Madam, I will scold Master later too.」
「Indeed, Madam. It would not be good to let Master escape.」
Vault-san and Luna-san pacified her but…… wait, they’re not pacifying her.
Just as I finished helping her unpack, Dante-san arrived.
I had failed to tell Dante-san the location of the house, but it was within a two-minute walk, and other than Mimir-sama’s house, my house and the Great Spirits’ house a slight distance away, there was no other residence in sight in the central district. Even a directionally challenged person would find their way.
However, his expression was not good.
「Kuh, Why is Madam Lumia here?」
「「……ah.」」
In that single statent, Freesia-san and I knew that Madam Lumia snatched Etoile from him. The reason being that, ever since Etoile was born, Madam Lumia frequently visited my ho. Naturally, her objective was to cuddle with Etoile and her cuteness. Based on standing, Dante-san was unable to defy her.
Normally, Mimir-sama would drag Madam Lumia ho at a reasonable ti, but today, Mimir-sama hadn’t yet returned from Yggurle Kingdom so there was no one holding Madam Lumia back.
Dante-san plopped down on the sofa, a present that I gave, in the living room that had barely been furnished. As if waiting for that mont, Freesia-san sat opposite of Dante-san and pressed him with questions about immigrating to the Sanctuary.
「So Dante, could you tell why you retired and immigrated?」
「Eh, ahh, that’s because Darphy had beco and adult, and I thought it would now be alright to leave the managent of the territory to him.」
「That’s a lie, isn’t it? You simply wanted to be by Etoile-chan’s side, didn’t you?」
「Urk, isn’t it unfair if only you get to do it!? I want to watch Etoile grow up too!」
「……sigh, I will not object since Lord Balza had already secretly made preparations, but do not use Darphy as an excuse.」
「Wha, how do you know about the Pri Minister?」
「Isn’t it obvious that I learned of it through Sylph-sama? To make you a connection between the country and the Sanctuary……」
「No, Freesia, don’t even joke about the motherland. Though it was at the end that we received peerage, shouldn’t you be happy to be of use to your country?」
「Master, Madam, Iruma-sama is troubled by this. Please calm down and have so tea.」
Watching as the presence around Dante-san and Freesia-san deteriorate, Vault-san began diating, and Luna-san brewed and served tea.
「Oh my, I’m sorry Takumi-kun.」
「No, I’m fine.」
In actuality, we had learned that Dante-san was going to return to the Sanctuary during his journey back to Yggurle Kingdom. That’s why we weren’t surprised about that, but Freesia-san did not seem pleased that Dante had forced their son to succeed him so he could return.
「Well, enough of that. It was the country’s decision anyhow, and Darphy had to beco the next head soti soon anyway. Apart from that, you should consider what to do from now on.」
「Hm? From here on?」
「Your job.」
「Eh, work!?」
「Surely you weren’t thinking of living and eating for free, were you?」
「…………o, of course not.」
Ahh, he thought about it. He did retire, after all. He definitely thought of living just to dote on his grandchild. I didn’t mind either way though. I had more than enough to take care of my in-laws.
But it seed as though that was not acceptable to Freesia-san.
「Then Dante, search for a job tomorrow. In that regard, Takumi-kun, may I ask that of you as well?」
「Y- yes.」
And so, it looks like Dante-san would be on a job hunt today.
By the way, Freesia-san was apparently a housewife.
Housewife, in this case, did not an housework as a whole. It was her job to take care of Etoile. Household chores wee Vault-san and Luna-san’s job, after all.
Naturally, she didn’t say a word of that to Dante.
Her husband was apparently healthy and being away from the house would be good for him.
