A new building was completed in the central division of the Sanctuary.
It had conference rooms and large halls where legislative assemblies happen.
Because the population is rising in the Sanctuary and with its racial diversity, I decided to build a place where everyone can have discussions and make all sorts of decisions.
Well, I’m aware that I went over the top with my idea.
Now, Dwarven and Elven craftsn were creating statues and ornants for it.
Since we’ve finally built this facility, we decided to use it to listen to the various discussions with the representatives of the residents of the Sanctuary.
In attendance are Sophia, Akane, Laeva, myself, as well as Charlotte from my aides.
The residents’ representatives are as follows:
Mappo-san, Cat Sith.
Vanga-san, Human.
lty-san, Elf.
Doganbo-san, Dwarf.
Fluna-san, rmaid.
With the exception of Vanga-san, the representatives were simply the people who were here the earliest.
「Hey, Takumi.」
「Yes, what is it, Vanga-san?」
「Even if we want sothing, if we just keep receiving it from you, it would beco the ruin of everyone.」
「He’s right. You’ve given houses to live in, fields to plow, and even agricultural equipnt. If you’re saying the tax is cheap because you’re concerned for us, entitlent will be right at you.」
When Vanga-san and lty-san spoke, everyone else nodded in agreent.
「Well, but don’t you have any requests?」
When I said that, everyone exchanged looks.
The representatives were saying that everything, even the orchard, breweries, and fields were all provided by , so simply put, it’s like I am the president of a large company known as the Sanctuary, and the residents were employees being paid wages for their work.
They said they were happy to sell wine, whiskey, crops such as fruit trees, and woodcraft, but they didn’t want to make money for it.
「Eh? Why?」
「Well, listen here, Takumi, living in peace here is so much worth so much more than any money or treasure.」
「That’s right. To begin with, I don’t think anyone greedy for money would be able to pass through the Sanctuary’s barrier.」
「I-is that so?」
That might truly be the case if Vanga-san and lty-san said so.
「Ah, oh right, there are few hunters, so maybe the supply of normal ats isn’t enough?」
「There’s enough monster at, isn’t there?」
Currently in the Sanctuary, there weren’t that many hunters like Vanga-san. In general in the Sanctuary, there are animals such as rabbits and deer, but there were no edible monsters. That’s why we have training sessions while hunting monsters in the Savage Lands, then sell it cheap and wholesale to the businesses in the Sanctuary.
「Well, there’s enough to eat even if I don’t go out hunting. According to Dryas-sama, it is a must that we cull so wildlife.」
「Ahh, I get it, so it’s like that?」
Deer was definitely a problem even in Japan.
Aside from harming crops, I’ve heard that they even even eat up sprouting trees.
「I understand. I’ll take that into consideration in case there are too few hunters.」
「Oh, you need not consider it.」
「What do you an, Akane?」
When I said I’d think about the issue of a lack of hunters that Vanga-san ntioned, Akane vetoed it.
「Did you forget about my Ferryl?」
「Ohh! If you’re bringing that up then Laeva’s Seru-chan is also here!」
「Ahh, there’s Ferryl and Seru.」
If we were to leave it to Akane’s familiar the Luna Wolf Ferryl [1], and Laeva’s familiar Serval Seru to do the culling, the deer wouldn’t increase too much.
「Then I shall use Gloam as well.」
Perhaps because she felt a sense of rivalry, even Sophia ntioned the na of her familiar, Thunder Eagle Gloam.
「Then we’ll solve the lack of hunters by relying on the familiars.」
As we continued to discuss if there was anything else, so had suggested that the annual harvest festival should be made a little bit more showy.
「Hey, Takumi. The number of residents here has increased considerably, should we make the harvest festival even more showy?」
「Making the harvest festival more showy, huh…… that sounds nice. I wonder if the harvest festival would be good as is? There are other festivals too, though.」
So of the newly immigrated residents have never experienced a festival, so we decided to hold a festival that everyone can enjoy.
「Then let’s have a separate eting to plan the date and details of the festival. Let’s end it here f or today.」
「Right. It’s perfect since Takumi’s children had just been born, so let’s make a grand festival.」
「The children are blessed with various races as Human, Elf, and Beastkin, so let’s liven it up!」
The first Sanctuary Assembly, we decided to have a showy festival.
Tiwise, the harvest festival would be very soon, so it would be a lavish harvest festival like every year, but maybe we should step it up.
Just as we were about to leave, I saw Fluna-san discussing sothing with Sophia in a whisper, but if there was sothing going on, she would probably discuss it with too.
