Clang!

Thick glass shards scattered all over the floor.

"What are you doing?!"

Dr. Lee fell to the ground, his face full of shock and confusion.

The blackness in his eyes receded slightly, as if he was starting to sober up.

But soon, his expression showed a struggle, and the blackness covered his eyes again.

Strangely, though so glass shards pierced his face, there was no sign of blue light blood seeping out.

"I’ve been suspicious of you for a while."

Ree Shil approached Dr. Lee, iron stick in hand.

Looking down at him, he could see the part of Dr. Lee’s neck below the collar of the protective suit.

To his surprise, there was no skin beneath Dr. Lee’s exposed neck, only tightly packed muscle fibers!

Clearly, he was no longer a normal human.

Ree Shil had suspected sothing was off when he found several protective suits earlier and had played with them out of curiosity.

He discovered that the suits were too heavy for a human to handle easily.

Even with his Level 1 card player physique and the bonus from the Iron stick, it was quite a struggle.

Yet Dr. Lee could move freely despite wearing the suit, which was quite odd.

And now, it was clear that this guy wasn’t human at all.

Without a doubt, he must be a key character in this mission line.

"Huh, I didn’t expect you to figure it out."

"Hoo-hoo-hoo..."

As Dr. Lee let out an evil laugh, the blackness in his eyes grew thicker, like smoke.

"In that case..."

"Enough of your blabber."

Thump!

"You... can’t you just let finish what I have to..."

"No."

Thump!

"Damn you! You..."

"Shut up."

Thump!

"Ouch!"

Thump!

Ree Shil initially held back, but the more he hit, the more he realized this guy’s head was even harder than the Strengthened Zombie Beasts’.

Despite being hit so many tis, Dr. Lee still sounded spirited.

Ree Shil’s hand was getting tired.

[Woof!]

At that mont, he heard the barking of the Zombie Beast Hound behind him, less than 10 ters away.

"Huh? How did you get here?"

Ree Shil asked as he continued to hit Dr. Lee, glancing over to see the Mossy Mushroom erging from the end of the corridor, followed closely by Straw Man.

"Ree Shil, watch out! Cute Mushroom!"

"That guy is suspicious. Be careful not to... kill him with your hits? Huh?"

Originally, he wanted to warn Ree Shil to be careful with Dr. Lee.

But seeing the doctor being battered by Ree Shil’s iron stick, he changed his words unconsciously.

"Why did you guys co too?"

"ENOUGH!!! ROAR!!!"

Taking advantage of Ree Shil’s distraction, Dr. Lee let out a roar-like howl.

He ripped off the release valve of the protective suit in an instant, freeing himself from his confinent.

As expected, aside from the part of his body above the neck, he had no skin and only bare muscle fibers, no different from the Strengthened Zombie Beasts.

Struggling to stand up amidst the intense dizziness, Dr. Lee rushed to the door and hit the button to open it.

Rumble, rumble, rumble...

The two tal doors slowly opened, revealing the scene inside.

"..."

Only now did Ree Shil realize that behind the door was not the equipnt depot Dr. Lee had ntioned.

There were countless motionless Zombie Beasts, all Strengthened, filling the room.

There were at least a hundred of them.

Their eyes were pitch black, just like Dr. Lee’s.

"There are too many of them, Cute Mushroom!"

"Damn it, Grass."

Mossy Mushroom and Straw Man were also taken by surprise.

But it got worse: roars now ca from behind them.

[ROAR! ROAR! ROAR!]xN

A mixture of ordinary and Strengthened Zombie Beasts blocked their only escape route.

Unfortunately, at that very mont, a mission update appeared before their eyes.

[Task Change]

[Explore H International Group Base - 0/1]

[Defeat Dr. Lee - 0/1]

Mossy Mushroom: "How can we possibly complete this mission? Cute Mushroom!"

Straw Man: "All hope is lost, Grass."

Ree Shil: "1, 2, 3, 4, 5..."

Mossy Mushroom: "Are you counting the number of enemies?"

Ree Shil: "No, I’m counting how many cards we can draw later when we go out."

Mossy Mushroom, Straw Man: "..." x2

What a joke, if four or five strengthened zombie beasts co at once, they might not be able to win.

Now that there are over a hundred in front and back, how can they play?

However, there’s always a way out. At this mont, ti suddenly solidifies around them.

Whoosh...Buzz!

A blue light pillar descends from the sky and begins to spread out the card table.

[Zombie Beast Hound temporarily joins your card deck and can be called]

The Zombie Beast Hound turns into a card and floats in front of them.

"We have a chance to be saved, Cute Mushroom!"

Mossy Mushroom raises both hands and cheers.

The huge blue light card table takes shape, and there’s no difference from before on their side, still 9 3.

But the enemy’s grooves have changed, changing from one row to two rows.

"I’ll use this card, and the rest will be the sa as before."

Ree Shil takes the[Zombie Beast Hound].

His idle[Iron stick]has been fused, and the[Zombie Beast Hound]is just right to replace it.

Whoosh! x6

The zombie beasts behind them turn into beams of light and fall on the card table.

[Woof!]x6

Six zombie beast projections stand up from their card faces.

In addition to the[Ordinary Zombie Beast]they had seen before, there was a new card type.

[Strengthened Mourning Beast]

Berserk, Attack 15, 30/30

[at Eating-Passive]: Strengthened Mourning Beast’s attack on humanoid cards increases by 5 points of damage.

"These[Strengthened Mourning Beasts]are tough to deal with. They’re much stronger than the[Ordinary Zombie Beasts]."

"And it’s a special attack card, tailored for special attacks against humanoid cards."

Mossy Mushroom expresses his concern.

They have a total of 4 humanoid cards in their deck:[Kung-Fu Sheep Lady][Cheer Up Mushroom][Gangster Mushroom][Hooligan Mushroom]

"It’s okay, our main tactic remains the sa. We’ll just adjust our positions a bit."

Ree Shil says not to worry about it.

Soon, under his command, everyone has arranged their cards properly.

[Fuel Tire][Fuel Table][Fuel Trash]

[Zombie Hound][Bubble Mushroom][Empty Slot]

[Rogue Mushroom][Gangster Mushroom][Fat Cat]

[Sheep Lady][Oil Mushroom][Fuel Door]

If the[Strengthened Mourning Beasts]on the other side want to attack the humanoid cards, they would have to clear at least their two rows of cards.

By that ti, it’s estimated that they would have been wiped out as well.

[Woof!]xN

[Robbery, Cute Mushroom!]

[You look really beautiful~ Cute Mushroom!]

[Miecha~!]

[Cheer up! Cheer up!]

Actions confird, the projections of both sides are tangled in a chaotic battle.

With sufficient firepower on their side, they clear 6 Mourning Beast cards in one round.

However, new Mourning Beasts quickly replenish from their rear, while Dr. Lee’s Mourning Beasts remain stationary.

After several rounds like this, the Mourning Beasts behind them are completely cleared.

And under Ree Shil’s command, they’ve only lost one[Burning Garbage]on their side.

"Once we clear these guys, it should be their turn."

Mossy Mushroom looks at the black-eyed Strengthened Mourning Beasts, which are the major concern.

At this mont, Dr. Lee is trapped in the frozen space, standing among these hundreds of Mourning Beasts.

Buzz!

But unexpectedly, it unfreezes the next second after its words fall.

And it’s not just Dr. Lee who unfreezes, it’s...everyone’s unfrozen!

"What’s going on? Is the card ga over?"

This baffles him.

"No, not yet."

Ree Shil finds that the blue light of the card table still exists.

"Could it be that a[Group of Strengthened Mourning Beasts]is coming this ti?"

Mossy Mushroom recalls the scene of the previous PVE card ga.

At that ti, the last group of Mourning Beasts sward in and rged into a card.

But the ones in front of them are all Strengthened Mourning Beasts. If they rge into[A Group of Strengthened Mourning Beasts], then what?

"If it’s really like that, it would actually be good news."

"One card is easier to deal with than multiple cards."

Ree Shil says so.

But for so reason, he has a bad feeling about it.

At this mont, Dr. Lee’s eyes are completely black, as if he’s going mad.

"Move, all of you move!"

He shouts instructions loudly.
