Once the ice affinity stabilized, the Yin essence shifted its focus toward his fire affinity. The contrast between the two elents should have caused chaos in his ridians, yet the celestial Yin flowed between them as if it had been designed to harmonize their opposition. It cooled the violent surges of his fire affinity, smoothing its aggression without weakening its strength. Then it rged the two affinities at precise points where they naturally complented each other, creating balance where imbalance had reigned before.

His body reacted with faint tremors as the refinents continued. His fingers twitched slightly. His breathing changed rhythm more than once. A faint light even flickered beneath his skin for a mont before fading again. Still, he remained unconscious and oblivious.

After the Yin essence completed its work on his elental affinities, it began to behave even more strangely. Rather than dispersing or becoming dormant, it gathered itself into smaller clusters and began circulating through his ridians with increasing speed. Each pass through his core carried more force than the last. His inner Qi began to swell, and the pressure within him grew almost violently.

The first breakthrough ca without warning. His entire body jolted as his cultivation surged past the barrier. The celestial Yin stabilized the process instantly, allowing him to slip cleanly into the next stage without struggle. Monts later another surge followed. Then another. His cultivation began climbing stage by stage, pulled upward by the powerful energy coursing through him. The speed was unnatural. The intensity bordered on dangerous. Yet the Yin essence managed every fluctuation with uncanny care, preventing any damage as it pushed him higher.

And all of this happened while Lucas lay motionless on the floor, completely unconscious, unaware that his body was undergoing the kind of progress that cultivators spent years chasing.

The celestial Yin essence did not stop its work until Lucas’s body had clearly reached the very edge of what it could withstand. His ridians stretched to their absolute limit, his core expanded to the brink of rupture, and the swelling pressure finally forced the Yin essence to halt its relentless push. Any further progression would have torn him apart.

The mont the energy recognized that limit, it withdrew from his cultivation pathways, allowing his body to stabilize. His limbs relaxed once more and his breathing steadied into a soft, almost peaceful rhythm. For a brief mont, everything inside him went quiet, as though the celestial Yin had finally completed its purpose.

But then sothing entirely unexpected occurred.

Instead of settling into dormancy or dispersing into his core, the celestial Yin essence gathered once again, this ti far more compact, far more focused. It moved toward the center of his brow, where the faint presence of his spatial ability normally resided. The Yin essence probed carefully, almost cautiously at first, testing the nature of a power that did not belong strictly to Qi, Yin, Yang, or any traditional elental force.

When it found the lingering threads of unstable spatial energy within him, the Yin essence imdiately recognized them as sothing that could be refined as well.

A faint ripple spread across Lucas’s unconscious body. His fingers curled slightly. His brow tensed. The spatial power within him trembled, resisting the sudden foreign intrusion. Spatial energy was volatile and unpredictable, sothing even seasoned cultivators handled with extre caution. Yet the celestial Yin essence moved with the kind of authority that tolerated no opposition.

It wrapped itself around the unstable spatial strands, cooling their erratic vibration and forcing them into a steady rhythm. Then the refinent began.

The room felt different as this happened. Even the air above Lucas shimred faintly, rippling as though space itself was reacting to the process. The Yin essence infused the spatial threads with clarity, smoothing their harsh edges and strengthening the foundation beneath them. Every unstable fragnt in his spatial receptors was adjusted, polished and anchored more firmly.

The process was nothing short of miraculous. It was sothing that should not have been possible, even in theory. Spatial abilities were rare and mysterious, and not even the greatest masters of the continent had clear knowledge on how to refine such a power. Yet the celestial Yin essence worked through it with ease, as though guided by instinct older than the mortal world itself.

If Lucas had been awake to witness this, he would have been terrified and amazed in equal asure.

But he remained unconscious, sprawled on the floor with his hair scattered across the cold tiles, completely unaware that his spatial ability was being fortified, clarified and expanded far beyond anything he had achieved through his own effort.

The celestial Yin essence continued refining him, patient and precise, as though determined to elevate every part of him it could reach before it finally dissipated.

The empress remained seated in the exact center of the room, her posture perfectly straight but her entire body trembling under the strain of the breakthrough. Cold sweat rolled freely down her back and soaked into the cushion beneath her, yet she paid no mind to the discomfort or the chill clinging to her skin. Her breaths ca sharp and uneven, each inhale a struggle and each exhale a release of pressure that only grew heavier with ti.

Her aura, normally elegant and serene like a calm lake, had beco turbulent and violent. Waves of celestial Qi surged out from her core repeatedly, slamming against the barrier she had erected monts earlier. The barrier shuddered under the force, glowing faintly as if barely able to contain the energy raging within the room.

Her hands trembled where they rested on her knees, her delicate fingers digging into her own skin as she forced herself deeper into concentration. Even with the excruciating pain tearing through her ridians and bones, she did not allow her posture to break.

Every part of her body felt like it was being split apart and reford at the sa ti. Her mortal vessel was resisting fiercely, unwilling to transition into a body capable of housing an immortal’s essence. The pain was unimaginable, enough to make any other celestial collapse or scream, but she kept her lips pressed tightly together. Only a few pained breaths escaped her.

Her vision blurred repeatedly, but she held on ruthlessly.

She had waited far too long for this mont. She had sacrificed countless years, endured endless stagnation, tasted hopelessness more tis than anyone could understand. She was not going to let this chance slip through her fingers.

She closed her eyes slowly, forcing her consciousness to sink deeper, searching for the final key to push her body past its last mortal threshold. She guided the Yin essence within her and refined the powerful Yang she had taken from Lucas, rging both with her own celestial Qi. The harmony was there. The energy was perfect. Everything was aligned exactly as it should be.

But her body resisted with a force just as stubborn as her will.

Lines of pain carved themselves across her face, but she did not falter. Her breathing deepened, her aura swelled further, and sweat continued to pour down her temples and chin. Her robe clung to her frail but ethereal fra, soaked through and trembling with every surge of power.

The agony was almost unbearable.

The desperation was imnse.

She kept her mind locked onto the breakthrough she had chased for so long, forcing herself forward inch by inch, breath by breath, even as pain threatened to tear her apart from the inside.

She did not know how long she had been enduring the tornt. Perhaps minutes. Perhaps hours. Ti had lost all aning.

But she refused to stop. She refused to break. She refused to fall back into stagnation ever again. The room shivered once more as another wave of celestial Qi burst outward from her, stronger than all the ones before it.
