Lucas remained seated in the center, his breathing steady, but the expression on his face had changed.

The faint strength that had returned to his body could not hide what was written clearly across his features.

Worry.

Frustration.

And beneath it all, sothing heavier.

The scars on his face seed more pronounced under the lantern light, tracing the path of the battle he had barely survived. His jaw tightened slightly, his gaze lowered, as if he was replaying everything in his head and finding no answer that satisfied him.

Lira noticed it first.

She didn’t say anything at the beginning. She simply shifted closer to him, her movents gentle, careful not to disturb what little calm had returned.

"Hey..." she murmured softly.

Lucas didn’t respond.

That was enough for her.

Without hesitation, she reached out and pulled him closer, guiding his head toward her as she wrapped her arms around him. She held him firmly, one hand resting on the back of his head, gently brushing through his hair.

"It’s alright," she said quietly.

Her voice carried warmth, steady and reassuring.

"You’ve done enough already."

Lucas didn’t resist.

For once, he allowed himself to lean into it, the tension in his shoulders easing just slightly under her touch.

Lira continued to stroke his head slowly, like she was grounding him, pulling him away from the storm in his thoughts.

"You’re not fighting this alone," she added softly. "You never were."

Nyx stepped closer, her eyes still a little red from earlier, but her expression now filled with concern rather than fear. She knelt beside them, placing a hand gently on Lucas’s arm.

"You promised," she whispered. "And I believe you."

Selene moved in next, quieter than the others, but her presence just as strong. She rested a hand on his shoulder, her fingers tightening slightly as if to remind him she was there.

"We’ll figure sothing out," she said.

Henrietta didn’t speak imdiately. She simply ca closer and stood beside them, her gaze steady as she looked down at Lucas.

"You always do," she finally added.

For a mont, none of them said anything else.

They didn’t need to.

The silence wasn’t heavy this ti. It was... shared.

Behind them, Tom leaned lightly against the wooden fra near the entrance, watching the scene unfold. He glanced sideways at the ice belle, who had been observing everything with quiet interest.

Their eyes t briefly.

Tom gave a small nod toward the tent flap.

The ice belle understood imdiately.

Without a word, she turned and began walking out.

Tom followed after her, lifting the flap quietly so as not to disturb the mont inside. Before stepping out, he took one last glance back at Lucas and the girls, then slipped outside into the cold night.

The tent fell quiet again.

Inside, surrounded by them, Lucas finally let out a slow breath he hadn’t realized he’d been holding.

Lira didn’t let go of him imdiately.

She eased him back slightly, studying his face for a mont, her fingers still brushing lightly through his hair. The tension there hadn’t fully disappeared, but it had softened enough for her to act.

"You need to rest," she said gently.

Before Lucas could respond, she and Henrietta helped him to his feet. He didn’t resist. The exhaustion, both physical and ntal, had settled deeper than he had realized.

They guided him toward the bed at the side of the tent.

"Sit," Selene added softly, already moving ahead of them.

Lucas sat down slowly, exhaling as he did. The mont he did, the weight in his body beca more apparent. It wasn’t just the lingering injury anymore. It was everything. The battles, the pressure, the responsibility.

Nyx stood close by, watching him with quiet concern.

Selene moved toward a small chest and retrieved a container, opening it carefully. A faint herbal scent filled the air almost imdiately.

"Lie back," she said.

Lucas hesitated for a brief second, then did as she said.

The girls worked around him without awkwardness, without hesitation. There was nothing indulgent in their actions, only care. They removed the parts of his clothing that would get in the way, mindful of his injuries, careful not to cause him any discomfort.

Selene dipped her fingers lightly into the ointnt.

"This will help your muscles relax," she said quietly.

Lira was already beside him again, her hands warm as they rested against his shoulders.

"Try not to think too much," she murmured.

Henrietta took one side while Nyx stayed close, watching, occasionally helping where needed.

Then they began.

The touch was firm, but gentle.

asured.

Lira worked slowly along his shoulders, easing the tightness that had built up there. Henrietta focused on his arms, pressing carefully along the strained muscles, loosening them bit by bit. Selene applied the ointnt where needed, her movents precise, making sure it sank into his skin properly.

Lucas felt it almost imdiately.

The tension began to lt.

Not all at once, but gradually.

Each movent, each careful press, chipped away at the stiffness in his body. The dull ache that had lingered since the battle began to fade into sothing distant.

He let out a slow breath.

Then another.

His body, which had been coiled tight for so long, finally began to give in.

Nyx, still close, placed a hand lightly over his, as if anchoring him there.

"You’re safe," she whispered.

Lucas didn’t respond, but his fingers relaxed slightly under hers.

The scent of the ointnt, the warmth of their touch, the quiet presence around him... it all worked together in a way he hadn’t expected.

His mind began to clear.

The noise that had been crowding his thoughts since the battlefield started to fade. The urgency, the fear, the endless calculations... they all pulled back just enough for him to breathe.

For the first ti in what felt like forever, there was space in his head.

Space to think.

Space to feel.

Space to simply exist without the weight crushing down on him.

His eyes closed slowly.

Not from exhaustion alone.

But from relief.

Lira noticed it and smiled faintly, her hands never stopping.

"There you go," she murmured.

Selene glanced at him briefly, then continued her work.

"He needed this."

Henrietta nodded slightly.

"Yes."

Nyx held onto his hand just a little tighter.

And in that quiet mont, surrounded by them, Lucas finally felt sothing he hadn’t felt in a long ti. He felt clarity.

As the tension continued to leave his body, Lucas beca more aware of the subtle changes within him.

Beneath the soothing touch of their hands and the calming scent of the ointnt, he could feel it clearly now. The Yin energy flowing from the girls wasn’t just surrounding him, it was seeping into him.

The bond they shared made it effortless.

Selene’s Qi carried a soft, steady warmth. Lira’s was deeper, more embracing. Henrietta’s was calm and grounded, while Nyx’s had a delicate, emotional pull to it. All of it blended together around him, wrapping over his senses like a quiet tide.

Lucas’s breathing shifted slightly.

His body responded on instinct.

The mont he recognized the Yin energy, sothing within him stirred. His dantian began to rotate more actively, drawing in the energy without him needing to consciously guide it.

The connection they had ford earlier had not completely faded, and now, in this state of closeness, it deepened again in a different way.

The Yin energy flowed into him, and he began to absorb it.

Refining it.

Feeding on it.

The effect was imdiate.

The lingering fatigue in his body receded further. His ridians, already stabilized from earlier, seed to open more, welcoming the flow. Even the suppressed inferno within him reacted, not aggressively this ti, but as if it had been pushed further into the background by the purity of the energy entering his system.

Lira paused for a brief second, her hands still resting against his shoulders.

"You feel that?" she asked softly.

Selene glanced at Lucas, then at the others.

"...He’s drawing from us."

Henrietta didn’t pull away.

Nyx’s grip on his hand tightened slightly, though there was no fear in it this ti.

Lucas remained still, his eyes closed, but his awareness was sharp.

"I’m not forcing it," he said quietly.

Selene nodded.

"We know."

The ice belle had left earlier, but the stability she enforced still lingered faintly in the space, preventing the energy from spiraling out of control.

This was different from before.

Earlier, they had pushed their Qi into him with purpose, with effort.

Now, it was... natural.

An exchange.

A quiet harmony.

Lucas’s body absorbed the Yin energy steadily, refining it into his own Qi. His breathing beca smoother, his expression easing further as the last remnants of strain left his features.

Lira resud her movents, slower this ti.

"Then take it," she murmured softly. "You need it."

Selene didn’t object.

Neither did Henrietta.

Nyx simply stayed close, her presence unwavering.

In that quiet space, with no urgency and no pressure, Lucas continued to draw from them, his strength building, his mind growing clearer, and his body finally reaching a state it hadn’t known in a long ti.

Balance.
