Horo already had an idea of what he wanted to do as it was sothing he had already decided on from the beginning.
’I should learn Alchemy. That way I can improve my poison repertoire..’
That was until he heard a scoff. He could sense that Arachne was radiating displeasure as he made his decision.
’Do you have a problem with my decision Arachne?’
’Indeed I do Litt—’
’Too bad. My mind is made up’
’Ahh?! Rude!’
Horo’s one regret was that he was unable to plug his ears as the horrifying mystique Arachne always tried to build up dissolved into incessant nagging. He narrowed his eyes as he staved off the headache he was having because of the voice living in his head.
However, his annoyed expression was misinterpreted by the people he passed by. To them, it was like he was showcasing a natural smolder as he walked with steady but elegant steps. A couple girls who had been chatting sighed when Horo passed them by.
"Is that who I think that was? That was Ouroboros right?! The current rank 1 Rogue!"
"Where do you think he is heading? Perhaps a date? Ugh! I would be so jealous if so other girl was seeing him!"
"I know right~!"
’You lowly cur! I was going to show you grace and teach you a Lifestyle Profession that has Combat Capabilities but now I am tempted to smite you where you stand!’
Horo’s steps ca to an imdiate stop as a certain part of Arachne’s nagging caught his interest.
’Hold up..What are you talking about? Lifestyle Profession with Combat Capabilities? What is it?’
’Hmph! Why should I tell an irreverent and insolent whelp this?! Run along and learn your Alchemy! What do I care?!’
Horo didn’t know whether to laugh or cry as this supposed ’Goddess’ was throwing a tantrum and pouting like a child. Letting out a sigh, he covered his eyes with his hands as he said sothing he would never willingly say aloud.
’I am truly sorry my Dear Arachne. I was indeed foolish to interrupt you and not follow your divine wisdom. I beseech you to show rcy to this misguided child you have graced with your presence.’
There was silence before a faint contented giggle echoed in his mind.
’Haha! At least you know your place. Worship more as I reveal to you my Divine Knowledge!’
’Heh. Too easy’
The corner of Horo’s lips curled up into a smirk, secretly pleased as Arachne was too busy hemming and hawing about her greatness to catch Horo’s remark
’So are you ready to hear my great idea child? You must learn Woodworking!’
Horo’s expectations instantly fizzled into disappointnt as he once again began walking to the apothecary. Arachne sensed his disappointnt as her voice started taking on a sowhat desperate tone.
’J-Just trust okay! Do it and you will see that it will be totally worth it!’
After a mont of deliberation, Horo decided that he would trust Arachne, after all she hadn’t failed him once yet.
’Fine. But if what you said turns out to be useless, I will ...start to ignore you!’
Horo’s face flushed slightly as he realized just how empty his threat sounded at the end. Grumbling to himself, he left the confines of his village, heading towards the cabin on the outskirts.
There he saw a large bare chested muscular man cutting logs with a massive axe. Seeing him approach, the man raised his weapon and snarled.
"Who are you? This is private property!"
Horo groaned as he really did not want to get into a confrontation with a man who in a contest of strength would absolutely crush him.
"Sorry to disturb you Sir. My na is Ouroboros and I have an interest in woodworking and I thought that learning sothing like that from soone like you would be best."
The man crossed his arms while glaring at Horo with extre displeasure.
"Do I look like I take strays? It was bad enough that I went against my better judgent to take in that Rabbit to teach her axe skills. Why would I take in so pretty boy Snake who looks like he hasn’t worked a hard day in his life?!"
Horo’s eyes shot up in mild shock as he imdiately asked with a hesitant tone, unbothered by the other man’s displeased expression.
"By Rabbit....You don’t an Luna do you?"
"You know my disciple? I haven’t seen her in a few days. I told her to co back once she hit Level 10 so I could teach her so more Axe skills"
"Indeed I do, Sir. I am actually in a party with her and her brother Leo. We are actually going to be eting up later to have a al."
"That brat! She is going on a date with a pretty boy, even dragging her brother along? I should knock so sense into her!"
Horo imdiately started to panic as the man seed to grow even more agitated for so reason.
"No, No, No. Sir we’re NOT dating. There are 6 of us in the party...technically. We also have a pet that used to be a Dungeon BOSS but that’s beside the point. What matters is I am not dating Luna."
The man sized Horo up once more before grumbling with a hand stretched out for a handshake
"Yeah I figured pretty boys like you are not her type. The na’s Barry."
A wave of relief washed over Horo as he shook the man’s hand.
"Nice to et you Mr. Barry. My na is Ouroboros but my friends call Horo."
"I bet..."
It seed that Barry had so prejudices against him strictly because of his handso appearance, sothing that Horo found to be really petty.
"Follow ..."
Barry growled as he walked towards his cabin to which Horo complied. Inside of the rustic wooden cabin, Barry sat down at a nearby table and asked
"So why are you interested in Woodworking anyways"
"Good Question Sir. The reason is..."
’Arachne. Why am I trying to learn Woodworking?!’
Horo’s voice trailed off as he truly didn’t know and telling Barry about the voice of Arachne inside of his head was definitely not an ideal solution.
’Fret not Child. Tell this Gorilla of a man this. Puppeteer’
With no way to back out now, Horo could only do as she said
"I want to be a Puppeteer"
Bang!
Barry’s arm slamd onto the table, his gaze betraying just how shocked he was.
"You want to be a what?!"
"A...Puppeteer...?"
"So you want to learn a craft that has been lost in the annals of ti?"
Horo blinked, his mind going blank as Barry stared at him with suspicion.
"Say what?"
