His fighter began blaring at him. Warning him that he was locked onto by multiple sources. Which was followed by an array of laser fire from several different directions. He was finally getting sowhere.
He could tell because the defenses in the space craft channel started to beco more difficult. Before it was just the gates but now there were turrets that were aiming at him. Then there were the enemy fighters that were following him now.
Fortunately they were not as powerful as the external cannons of this ship. So he was not worrying about being destroyed in only a few shots now. But still the damage would accumulate.
He broke through another of the closing security doors when his ship suddenly slamd to the side. He could feel the force as it pulled him upward toward the roof. He quickly adjusted his hoverplates and he floated just before slamming into the roof as the other fighters crashed around him. A few actually slamming into his shielding.
He seems to have entered a giant chamber where a spinning object was giving off an astronomical amount of power. At the sa ti it was also ssing with gravity so everything was moving away from it within a certain range. This would be as good a target as anything else he found.
He adjusted his flight path as he flipped over and got a good scan at the object before he started rapid firing his lasers. Which warped and slamd into the sides of the chamber. Heating up the wall which on its own would not have done anything but the gravitational force from the energy source was morphing the tal.
Then with no other opposition to Jace’s attack he quickly broke down the structure around the chamber until he could hear a loud creak followed by a crash and the blue glow that was coming from the energy source changed to a red.
He could feel the sudden shift in his controls as the gravitational force disappeared. Jace did not waste a second before he left through the hole and pathway he ca in from. As he did he could hear an explosion and his fighter’s shielding flickered before going off. Not even a mont later his gauges blared before going silent along with the rest of his systems. He did not even have a mont before he had to brace.
The ship shuddered before he slamd into the ground and the armored canopy went dark. He manually opened both canopies and stepped out into the tunnel where there were scorched walls and debris floating around. As he did he could feel as his fighter began a reboot sequence.
"Gladiator, we just saw a burst of blue energy enemate from one of the world class sized ships. Was that you?" He heard K over the channel which his helt connected to.
"I suppose it was." Jace answered as he looked around. The entire tunnel looked like it was covered in soot. The only part that was not were the scratch marks from his fighter crashing. "Is anything else happening?"
"Yeah, gravity is fucked." Valkyrie cursed, sounding more annoyed than before. "While all of the Mortella World and Royal class ships are floating like they are out of power, the colony ships are still functioning. But we are looking at spikes in gravity from your position all the way to Mars."
"Gravity pockets." Jace nodded his head as he turned and looked in the direction of a noise to see several of the Mortella in the armor co out of a service tunnel. The weakest of them had at least three sets of wings. But he saw that most of them had none but were stronger than any of the ones with wings. "They are a concept commonly associated with two subjects in particular, one of which is a gravity based reactor, the other is ti travel."
"Which do you think this one is?" K asked as Jace walked toward the Mortella, it seed he would be fighting his way through these enemies. At least until his fighter finished rebooting.
"It is the gravity based reactor one. I just blew up sothing that caused it. Press your advantage and destroy the colony ships while you have the mont. I am grounded for the mont." Jace ordered as he materialized his katana with its sheath.
{You! Where did you co from?} One of the three winged Mortella demanded as they flew toward him with sword in hand.
Jace did not even bother responding as he sidestepped the Mortella and kicked it away. It floated through the air quickly before slamming into the side of the tunnel and sliding up. While Jace floated backwards slightly.
He adjusted his weight and movent as he prepared to take on the rest of these Mortella. In normal gravity he would probably be fine, but he was in zero gravity at the mont. So it would be slightly more difficult to navigate. Even with the enhancents to his suit, movent would be restricted.
Just as he was thinking that another enemy was closing in on him. While a bunch of the no wings were firing ranged weapons at him. Most of them were energy based which just bounced off his armor’s shielding but he was staggered for a mont as a literal ball of iron slamd into his chest.
But he had to ignore it as a pair of the close range enemies had reached him. One of them was using a pair of claw attachnts on their hands. The other was wielding a massive hamr. Jace drew his sword and used the sheath and sword to parry the claw wielding Mortella with four sets of wings while dodging to the side of the hamr wielding Morella before his sword sliced through a gap in the Hamr Mortella’s armor. It dropped to the ground as yellow gas rushed out of the armor for a mont as it shrieked before dropping to the ground dead.
He could hear the panic as the others began to realize the kind of situation they put themselves into. But Jace stabbed through the claw Mortella’s chest before spinning away and slicing through one of those balls of iron before it could hit him again.
Then he sheathed his sword as he took up a stance. All of the close range Mortella took up defensive positions around the ranged ones. Jace tightened his muscles and ran electricity through his body before launching forward.
He acted in only a mont of ti. Sothing he had practiced many tis before. Sothing he had only done a few tis before in combat. But usually it registered in his mind as only a mont. A mont he was present for but his actions were predetermined.
This ti it was different. As he launched forward he could feel ti almost slow down around him. He ducked under the closest weapon that ca in the form of a spear while also dodging other lasers and the iron cannon ball that one of the Mortella were launching. As he did he drew his katana from its sheath.
The mont he did an arc of electricity launched off his blade into the spear. Causing the wieldier to go rigid. When he was right in front of the wieldier his katana was fully pulled out and swiping through the spear wieldier and another enemy that was in range. When he did he felt so of his electricity release through the blade and could see an arc of electricity.
The arc of electricity spread out over the rest of the Mortella and sent them slowly flying back. At least slowly flying back to his eyes. But he was moving so fast that he looked for the enemies that would not be hit by the wave of electricity and moved toward them. There were only three.
One of them was at the far right edge of the group and had a shield and sword. He jumped over the shield and swiped his sword in a diagonal arc before he used electricity and magnetism to pull himself to the ground. Then he rounded back to the front as the spearman, the sword man standing next to the spearman, and the Mortella with the shield started to go limp.
He sheathed his sword again as he ran around the front of the group. The last two Mortella that had not hit were wielding an axe and the other was just using its firsts. Jace went to kick both of them since they were not paying attention.
But just before his boots connected a golden shielding covered them and Jace pushed off it as he looked to the source. Which honestly surprised him because just looking at it he could tell that it was not a Mortella. It was sothing made of mostly electronics and tal. But a quick scan with electricity showed the creature had bones, a brain, and few other things that were mixed with the gas characteristics of the Mortella.
