In the blink of an eye, three Gauss cannon shells reached the sky above the research facility.

Without targeted asures, these three shells, experiencing almost no resistance and aided by gravitational acceleration, would definitely destroy the research facility completely.

At this mont, Dusk seed to lack sufficient counterasures.

The only potential option was the three giant chanical bodies that had just completed their tasks and were preparing for dormancy.

However, the chanical bodies were extrely heavy, capable of jumping only a few ters high at most, mostly restricted to activity near the ground.

It was impossible to block the Gauss cannon shells with their bodies.

Moreover, Gauss cannon shells seldom use magnetic materials.

Even if the chanical bodies generated high-intensity magnetism with electromagnetic pulses for traction, it was unlikely to be effective.

Even if the rulers’ shells were indeed made of magnetic materials, the chanical bodies wouldn’t have enough ti to pull them away, only slightly alter their paths before impact.

But the final speed of the Gauss cannon shells and the terrifying power it brought wouldn’t significantly differ whether they hit the research facility directly or nearby.

The result would be the sa regardless.

At this point, Dusk had no other protective ans.

Since they failed to stop the rulers initially, the rulers’ projectiles hitting the research facility after entering the planet seed inevitable.

Danger lood.

Still in the research laboratory zone, Chen Ming seed likely to beco the sole victim under the Gauss cannon.

However, what no one anticipated who followed the three shells was.

The paralyzed Iron Ore No. suddenly began to move of its own accord.

On its main computer, long controlled by Chen Ming’s spiritual energy and soaked persistently in it, several commands inexplicably appeared requiring execution.

Simultaneously, all the equipnt recently damaged by the self-detonation of a chanical body’s final electromagnetic pulse was undergoing self-repair without Chen Ming’s direct control.

In an instant, Iron Ore No. was active once again.

It flew towards the sky above the research facility, blocking the path of the Gauss shells.

And before the Gauss cannon hit, it attempted to use the ship’s ion pulses to disrupt the Gauss cannon shells.

But the Gauss cannon shells were pure solid, high-mass "iron chunks," making it incredibly challenging to damage such objects.

Even though the ion pulse was decent among small weapons, it was too weak against a large weapon’s shell.

It had no actual damaging capability, and the impact from the energy weapon hit was next to none, failing to alter the high-speed approaching shells.

With irresistible montum, the Gauss cannon shells deflected nurous energy confinent bombs launched at it, hitting Iron Ore No. on its unavoidable path.

The shield of Iron Ore No. shattered instantly.

But Chen Ming’s prior design and the peculiar situation of Iron Ore No.’s ongoing self-maintenance still had an effect.

The shield of Iron Ore No. didn’t shatter completely but successfully slowed the Gauss cannon shell to a barely acceptable speed after breaking eight of its ten layers of varying frequency shield.

Though the Iron Ore No. lost balance in mid-air, spinning and rotating.

The shield of Iron Ore No. underwent noticeable deformation, potentially leading to a complete shield system failure at any mont.

But at least it managed to deflect the shell, making it veer in a different direction over the research facility, heading to distant bare land.

The solid shell landed, kicking up a large amount of dust that enveloped the research facility despite the considerable distance.

Among the swirling dust, Iron Ore No. readjusted its posture and flew to the research facility’s sky once more.

It barely had any ti for complete repair.

The second Gauss cannon shell closely followed, arriving right after the first.

Iron Ore No. blocked again, but its remaining shield shattered, and the second Gauss shell still relentlessly crashed into Iron Ore No.’s hull.

Iron Ore No. had no intention of dodging, enduring the onslaught of the large weapon head-on with its hull.

The once seemingly indestructible White Cloud Steel appeared sowhat fragile against the Gauss shells.

Even with the cushioning of the shield and a slight directional deflection, nearly a quarter of the vessel was damaged due to the impact.

A corner of the ship even completely shattered upon collision with the shell.

But the second shell was successfully diverted, landing in another direction.

Chen Ming was still safe for now.

However, this safety was short-lived, with the third and final Gauss shell about to arrive.

Iron Ore No. could barely support a fragile shield with just one layer at this mont.

It was remarkable that its shield could be reactivated after enduring the attack of a substantial Gauss cannon.

But it continued to stand without hesitation in front of the Gauss muzzle, ready to buffer it, determined to stop the Gauss cannon outside the research facility, in front of Chen Ming, even at the cost of its destruction.

Its thin-as-wing shield shattered at the contact with the Gauss shell, failing to produce any effect.
