When Lynx ca in, everyone looked at him.

"You ca?"

Crixus spoke, his voice muffled.

"Mm."

Lynx walked in and closed the door behind him. "Speak. What's the matter?"

Crixus straightened up. His gaze swept over the others and finally landed on Lynx's face: "The day after tomorrow is the performance match. So things need to be made clear today."

"You speak."

"First,"

Crixus raised a thick finger. "In the performance match, we can cooperate, but cooperation is not listening to your commands. We each fight our own way. No one hinders the other."

Lynx raised an eyebrow: "Each fight our own way? Facing six people on the opposite side, if we each fight separately, we'll be broken one by one?"

"That's your problem."

Crixus sneered. "I have my own way."

"What way?"

Crixus didn't answer imdiately. He walked to the center of the warehouse, swept the dust on the ground with his foot, exposing the uneven mud below.

"Those bastards from Nodis are best at encirclent and killing."

He drew a few circles on the ground with his toe. "'Anvil' and 'Hamr' in front, 'Viper' on the flank, 'Spider' at the back. But they have a weakness—"

He paused and looked at Lynx: "They have cooperated for too long. So long that it has beco a habit. As long as we disrupt their rhythm and make them unable to follow their habits, the formation is broken."

This made so sense.

Lynx waited for the rest.

"So my thod is very simple."

Crixus grinned, showing a ferocious smile. "Charge forward at the start, grab 'Anvil' and beat him to death. As long as 'Anvil' falls, 'Hamr' has to co to save him. The 'Viper' on the flank has to fill the position, and the 'Spider' at the back has to press forward — once the rhythm is ssed up, the opportunity cos."

He looked at Lynx: "You are responsible for solving 'Spider'. That guy's net is the biggest trouble. Without the net, I can fight two of the remaining people."

The plan sounded… crude, but it fit Crixus's style.

Simple, brutal, breaking the situation with brute force.

"What about the other two people?"

"Lucretia said Nodis bribed the referees and will secretly let two more people into the field. At that ti it will be six against two."

Crixus's face sank: "I will deal with those two. As long as 'Anvil' and 'Hamr' are ssed up, I will have the chance to rush to their entry position and block them."

"How do you know where they will enter from?"

"I know."

Crixus took out a crumpled piece of straw paper from his bosom and threw it to Lynx. "There is a gladiator in the Nodis training camp who drank with before. This is what he secretly gave — a map of the Capua arena terrain, and the side door position where they plan to let people in."

Lynx unfolded the straw paper.

On it was a simple diagram drawn with charcoal, marking the central sand field of the arena, the audience seats, the weapon racks, and an inconspicuous small door in the northeast corner — marked with a red circle.

"Is the information reliable?"

"That guy's life is in my hands."

Crixus said. "He doesn't dare to lie to ."

Lynx stared at the map for a few seconds and looked up: "Good. Then we'll follow your plan. At the start you launch a strong attack on 'Anvil', I solve 'Spider', and the remaining people act according to the situation."

Crixus nodded, but there was still doubt in his eyes.

"Second thing,"

He raised another finger. "After the performance match, if we win, how will the freedom be calculated?"

"Batiatus promised to give us freedom. He said it in front of everyone."

"Can that old fox's words be trusted?"

Crixus sneered. "He says freedom with his mouth, but in private he may have already arranged a backhand. I heard that he has already talked with several nobles. As soon as the performance match ends, whether we win or lose, he will 'deal with' us."

As soon as these words ca out, the atmosphere in the warehouse instantly beca tense.

Gisco couldn't help but speak: "Deal with? What do you an?"

"Literal aning."

Crixus sneered. "If we win, we are stars and can be sold for a high price. If we lose, we are trash and will be buried directly. But no matter win or lose, we cannot walk out of the arena alive — at least, not intact."

Lynx was silent.

He knew Crixus was right.

A person like Batiatus would never really give them freedom.

The so-called freedom was just bait to make them fight desperately in the performance match.

"What do you plan to do?"

Lynx looked at him and asked.

"As soon as the performance match ends, no matter the result, imdiately escape from the side door."

Crixus pointed to the red circle on the map. "That place leads straight to the back courtyard of the arena. Passing through a lane is the dock. I have already arranged a ship. At that ti we will board the ship directly and leave Capua."

"Ship?"

Lynx frowned. "Where did you get a ship?"

"I have my own way."

Crixus didn't explain in detail. "Just say, are you in or not?"

Lynx looked at Crixus, then at the others around.

Gisco's eyes were firm. Amir was a bit nervous but nodded. The other three gladiators also showed determination.

The five people Crixus brought had expressions of "listen to the boss".

"In."

Lynx finally said. "But there is one condition."

"Say it."

"When we leave, bring Mira, and Marcus if he recovers."

Crixus raised an eyebrow: "That female healer? Why bring her? She will drag us down."

"She saved Marcus and helped us."

Lynx said seriously. "And she knows dicine. It will be useful on the road."

"Fine."

Crixus agreed readily. "One woman is not a problem, but Marcus… if he still can't get up the day after tomorrow, don't bla us for not waiting for him."

"Understood."

The two looked at each other, considered a temporary alliance reached.

"Then it's settled."

Crixus clapped his hands. "The day after tomorrow morning, gather at the arena. Rember, don't eat anything the training camp gives you. Don't drink water either. My people will secretly bring dry food in."

Everyone nodded.

The eting ended. Crixus took his people and left first.

Gisco and Amir stayed and left the warehouse with Lynx.

On the way back to the training ground, Gisco couldn't help but ask: "Lynx, do you really believe Crixus?"

"Believe half."

"He said the plan makes sense, but the ship thing… I doubt it."

Lynx said with a grave expression.

"You think he is lying to us?"

"Not necessarily lying, but definitely hiding sothing."

"Crixus doesn't have that much ability to arrange a ship without anyone knowing. There must be soone behind him."

"Who?"

"I don't know."

Lynx shook his head. "It could be so noble who wants to dig Batiatus's wall, or it could be a counter-espionage plan from Nodis. Both are possible."

Amir listened with a pale face: "Then we… still cooperate with him?"

"Cooperation is temporary."

"In the performance match we need him to pin down the enemy. As for after the match… act according to the situation."

When the three reached the entrance of the training ground, they happened to see a carriage driving in.

It was not the usual broken cart for transporting goods, but a prison cart with iron bars.

The horse pulling the cart was panting. The wheels rolled over the ground, making heavy sounds.
