Before Xia Xue left, she ntioned that Niu Niu’s mom didn’t want others to see her current state, except for the nurses and doctors. This naturally implied that she didn’t want Xiao Lin to see her. Xiao Lin agreed with a wry smile.

Even without looking, Xiao Lin could imagine the situation of Niu Niu’s mom being wrapped in dication and mbranes. He sighed inwardly, thinking that no matter what kind of woman, they all really care about their image, even soone like Niu Niu’s mom who is seriously ill.

Before leaving, Xiao Lin instructed the nurses here not to move anything on Niu Niu’s mom’s body. The nurses had already noticed Xiao Lin chatting with Chen Feng, the director of the ergency departnt, and Dr. Tang’s desolate deanor. To Xiao Lin’s instructions, they could only nod and smile in agreent. Moreover, with Xiao Lin’s handso appearance, even without the presence of Director Chen Feng, seeing the look in the nurse’s eyes, whatever Xiao Lin said would likely go.

Xiao Lin left the hospital, grabbed a bite to eat, then returned to his residence at Yan University, took a shower, and turned on his computer to casually browse the news. However, he didn’t see the news he was looking for; the online news was still the sa as a few days ago, and the website hadn’t updated with the latest news from the TV station today.

Xiao Lin played a few gas, didn’t log onto QQ, and went to rest before midnight.

The next day at noon, just as Xiao Lin was pondering what to wear for the evening, an unexpected call ca. He noticed the call’s last digits were from Yanjing, so he didn’t hang up and decided to answer.

"Secretary Luo, why is it you?" Xiao Lin was montarily taken aback when he heard the voice on the phone. He was quite surprised, wondering why Secretary Luo called him at this ti.

"Haha, I bet Young Master Lin is worried about what to wear tonight, right?" Secretary Luo, familiar with Xiao Lin, wasn’t one to beat around the bush. The more polite you are with him, the more he thinks you’re being fake. In Secretary Luo’s eyes, Xiao Lin was quite an impressive figure.

"Thank you, Secretary Luo, for your concern. If you can help solve this little headache, that would be fantastic!" Xiao Lin said after pondering a bit. Knowing that Secretary Luo contacting him directly and thinking so ticulously ant it was likely Hua Muyun’s instructions, he assud there might be another layer of aning. Previously, when Secretary Luo called, it was often directly stated as Hua Muyun’s idea, but not this ti, suggesting that Secretary Luo might be getting promoted.

"Alright, where is Young Master Lin now? I’ll bring an expert to help you choose." Secretary Luo, upon hearing Xiao Lin’s words, suppressed his joy, trying to maintain a formal tone.

Hearing Secretary Luo say that, Xiao Lin knew his earlier suspicions were correct. The ’expert’ should be Secretary Luo’s fiancée. Hua Qingyi had ntioned that Secretary Luo’s fiancée was eight years younger than him and quite notable in Yanjing. Before Secretary Luo was with Hua Muyun, his fiancée’s family wasn’t supportive of their relationship. However, once Secretary Luo joined Hua Muyun, her family’s attitude changed drastically, urging the couple to marry quickly.

"Great, with Secretary Luo’s help, I won’t embarrass myself tonight!" Xiao Lin smiled a bit, then gave Secretary Luo the address to co and pick him up.

Fifteen minutes later, Secretary Luo’s private car appeared at the entrance of Yan University. Xiao Lin had been waiting nearby. Before arriving, Secretary Luo had called Xiao Lin, informing him about the car. Upon seeing Secretary Luo approach, Xiao Lin stepped on the gas, heading towards them. Through the window, he saw a girl with long, flowing hair in the front passenger seat, appearing to be about twenty-six or twenty-seven, wearing light makeup with a demure and refined presence.

They left Yan University one after the other, following Secretary Luo’s lead to Yanjing’s Earth King Mansion. The Emperor Mansion, having weathered a hundred years, remains one of the most iconic buildings in Yanjing and a landmark tower. It’s also the financial center of Yanjing; every inch here is worth its weight in gold, and the businesses that can enter the Earth King Mansion are top-tier international companies and high-end shopping venues.

"I know a nice private clothing store here, where sotis even money can’t guarantee a purchase, which should match Young Master Lin’s status!" Secretary Luo maintained a sincere smile as he introduced, "This is the expert I ntioned, my fiancée, Wei Lingling!"

Xiao Lin nodded with a smile towards Wei Lingling, "Miss Wei, hello. Whether or not I can carry myself tonight depends on you. I’m sure the expert recomnded by Secretary Luo is second to none!"

It was Wei Lingling’s first ti hearing Xiao Lin’s na. Seeing her fiancé so respectfully speak to Xiao Lin—and knowing that Secretary Luo ntioned they were eting soone very important, possibly needing help—she dared not neglect her manners. Smiling politely, she replied, "Please, just call Lingling, Young Master Lin. It’s my honor to assist in selecting your attire for tonight!"

After so polite exchanges, the three, led by Secretary Luo, arrived at the thirty-third floor of the Emperor Mansion. From there, they could see a large part of Yanjing’s landscape, even though many skyscrapers surrounded them, none obstructed the view from the Emperor Mansion.

Xiao Lin wasn’t one to be overly sentintal. Along the way, the three chatted and laughed, quickly reaching the thirty-third floor, where Secretary Luo led Xiao Lin into a clothing company’s showroom.

It was Xiao Lin’s first ti seeing a clothing company—or rather, a workshop, to be accurate. After entering, he saw many tailors assisting custors in taking asurents and making clothes. The company seed to have a decent scale, with around forty tailors and over a hundred apprentices working, and quite a few custors, about ten or so, either getting asured or trying on clothes.

At that mont, the attendant at the door noticed Secretary Luo approaching. Despite not recognizing him, judging by Secretary Luo’s deanor, she dared not delay and imdiately went to greet them.

However, Xiao Lin suddenly furrowed his brows. Looking inside, he saw soone he didn’t want to see.

That person also noticed Secretary Luo, Xiao Lin, and Wei Lingling, and their expression changed. They whispered sothing to the attendant beside them. The attendant, now troubled, quickly approached Secretary Luo and said, "I’m sorry, sir, but we do not welco you here, please leave!" (To be continued.
