Chen Feng took the dicine jar and the thermos box given by Xiao Tang to the lab for testing, but his mood was not good regardless of whether the decoction revealed any issues.

If the test showed no other foreign substances, it would an this decoction had problems, thereby negating the findings of Xiao Lin and Elder Qin and, indirectly, proving his own alignnt issue.

If other foreign substances were detected, from Liang Tianze’s earlier performance, it would an Liang Tianze was problematic. Originally, from Chen Feng’s standpoint, he should be glad, but that would be a grave mistake.

Liang Tianze was Chen Feng’s rival, that’s true, but Chen Feng was also a proud person. Being considered an opponent by Chen Feng, aside from differing views on certain matters, they both had good intentions; it was just that their processes differed. In other words, Liang Tianze and Chen Feng were actually the sa kind of people.

These things wouldn’t be understood by outsiders.

With Chen Feng personally overseeing, the resident doctors in the lab dared not be negligent. About half an hour later, results were out, and they handed two test sheets to Chen Feng, saying, "Director Chen, these are the test results of the residual decoction from the thermos and the drug residue from the jar. Please have a look! However, it’s strange; the residual decoction in the thermos contains a blood pressure dication component." They dared not ask why Chen Feng wanted the tests.

Chen Feng nodded slightly, saying, "Thank you for your hard work!" He muttered, looking while getting up and walking out, his face looking grimr.

The residual drug residue in the jar was comprised of pure traditional Chinese dicine, while the residual decoction in the thermos had a lot of Western dicine components, and together they ford a new blood pressure dication. Although it hadn’t been introduced in Huaxia yet, as luck would have it, Chen Feng knew about it.

As the saying goes, the person who knows you best isn’t necessarily a friend or family, but perhaps your opponent.

This blood pressure dication was sothing Liang Tianze flaunted to his colleagues in the hospital last month, saying his daughter mailed it to him from abroad, as his blood pressure was slightly high and this dication had significant effects on him.

Chen Feng looked very upset, his heart heavy, unable to believe that Liang Tianze stooped to such low tactics behind his back. Chen Feng understood Liang Tianze well and had been his opponent not just for a day or two, but for nearly ten years, even before Liang Tianze beca vice president; they were already on opposing sides.

Regarding Liang Tianze’s character, preferences, and conduct, Chen Feng knew him better than anyone; Liang Tianze was a respectable adversary. Their confrontations were always out in the open with no underhanded dealings, a reason why Sun Yifei found the pair troubleso. If one of them had questionable character, he wouldn’t have as many headaches.

Now, with Liang Tianze acting this way, Chen Feng couldn’t accept this sudden shift, feeling an enormous internal conflict. Was this opponent he used to admire capable of such despicable acts?

The complexity of Chen Feng’s feelings right now was beyond the understanding of outsiders.

Soon, Chen Feng, holding the dicine jar, thermos box, and the two test sheets, arrived at the surgical corridor entrance, stirred by the noise from the operating room entrance. He gathered himself and walked towards the operating room with an earnest expression.

Seeing Chen Feng approach, the doctors and nurses hurriedly greeted him, to which Chen Feng barely nodded before asking a senior doctor, "Why is the operating room still lit? Is Dr. Xiao inside?"

"Yes, inside!" the doctor replied.

Chen Feng’s heart skipped a beat; could it be that Dan Qing’s condition was again spiraling out of control? Although not part of the expert group, Chen Feng was well-inford about Dan Qing’s condition. It was like a ticking ti bomb, especially after just facing a life-threatening crisis.

Generally, taking an unintended blood pressure dication wouldn’t affect an average person unless overdosed; there typically wouldn’t be significant issues. However, Dan Qing’s body couldn’t handle any stimulative dication. Otherwise, she couldn’t even take beneficial antibiotics.

"I’ll go in and take a look!" Chen Feng was ready to push the operating room door open when the light above the door abruptly dimd. Shortly, a cart was wheeled out by two nurses, accompanied by Xiao Lin, Professor Wang Fuming, and Elder Qin. Dan Qing had her eyes closed, but her complexion looked better than before.

"How is the patient’s condition?" Chen Feng asked quickly.

"Not optimistic, still needs observation, hoping she can survive tonight!" Wang Fuming replied. "The uremia is worsening, and the kidneys are beginning to fail!"

"Director Chen, what are the test results?" Xiao Lin asked, looking at Chen Feng.

Chen Feng walked over to Xiao Lin and gestured for him to speak further. Xiao Lin understood and told Wang Fuming and Elder Qin, "Professor Wang, Elder Qin, I leave Dan Qing in your capable hands!"

"Alright, no worries, starting tonight, I’ll be staying here!" Elder Qin nodded slightly in acknowledgnt.

Xiao Lin nodded and walked into the operating room, with Chen Feng following behind, closing the door with the sound echoing. Xiao Lin turned around and asked, "Director Chen, what are the test results?"

"It was Liang Tianze’s doing!" Chen Feng replied after a long silence, still unable to believe it.

Xiao Lin looked a bit surprised at Chen Feng, asking, "Ah? How did you verify so quickly?" Xiao Lin knew it was Liang Tianze, but had no evidence, and even if the decoction contained foreign substances, it couldn’t confirm Liang Tianze was the one who added them.

"The decoction contains a blood pressure dication component, which coincidentally, only Liang Tianze possesses, not yet available dostically; it was sent to him from abroad by his daughter!" Chen Feng explained.

"Hmm, very well, go ahead and announce it!" Xiao Lin hadn’t expected things would proceed so smoothly.

Chen Feng hesitated for a mont before suddenly saying, "Dr. Xiao, I have an impertinent request!"

Xiao Lin looked at Chen Feng curiously, asking, "Are you asking for leniency on behalf of Liang Tianze?"

"Yes, I know Lao Liang very well. Although we often disagree on certain issues, I can vouch for his character. This ti, he resorted to this, could there be so unavoidable reason?" Chen Feng asked, looking at Xiao Lin.

Xiao Lin, rather interested, looked at Chen Feng, perplexed and asked, "Director Chen, Liang Tianze is your staunch rival. His misstep this ti will see his downfall, which is favorable for you. Why, then, are you pleading for him?" (To be continued. If you like this work, you are welco to vote referral votes, monthly votes for it on Qidian (qidian). Your support is my biggest motivation.)
