Xiao Lin’s face turned cold; he was quite familiar with how difficult this policewoman could be.
"There are a total of five explosion points. Only two have been detonated so far, but two hiding places are still unfound. Can you manage?" he brusquely shrugged off Wu Shuang and returned to Suite 407.
"Xia Xue!" The suite was empty; food was scattered all over the floor, the sofa was slashed open with sothing sharp, and there was a pool of blood on the floor. Xiao Lin squatted down, touched the blood, which hadn’t coagulated, still warm; a fight had just occurred here, people shouldn’t be far.
"Where are you going?" Wu Shuang blocked his path: "Although you’re very skilled, the sa advice still applies to you." Watching Xiao Lin’s face, Wu Shuang hoped he wouldn’t get hurt.
"Watch out!" Xiao Lin suddenly dove forward, grabbed Wu Shuang, rolled on the ground, and narrowly dodged a bullet.
"Get out of here, don’t stand in the way." Without compromise, Xiao Lin followed the direction of the bullet, leaving the stunned Wu Shuang lying on the ground. When she finally thought to chase after him, he was already nowhere to be seen.
The walkie-talkie crackled with Director Lin’s call.
"Officer Wu, what’s the situation inside? Have you found Dr. Xiao?"
"Found him, but he ran off again!"
"What? You must ensure Dr. Xiao’s safety."
How could she guarantee that? Wu Shuang frustratingly considered throwing her walkie-talkie. Is Xiao Lin truly the kind to follow orders? It’s easy for him to say from his position. Rembering Xiao Lin’s boastfulness, she couldn’t help but add, "Based on current information, the enemy is still hiding three explosion points."
"The riot squad has entered the scene, prepare to assist them."

Xiao Lin didn’t expect Xiang Fei to be so unpredictably powerful, yet still lagging significantly behind the opponent. His left hand was completely useless, but relying on a barrage of leg attacks, he pinned the opponent against the corner of the wall, temporarily unable to mount a proper counterattack while searching for traces of Xia Xue.
"Who is Mushu to you?" The opponent found a gap and began to counterattack, striking Xiang Fei’s right side repeatedly. It was only then Xiao Lin noticed his right arm was bleeding; if this continued, he would suffer severe blood loss and disability. He suddenly leaped over, taking the opponent’s heavy blow, caught the opponent’s kick with one hand, used inner strength to fling the opponent aside, and swiftly sealed two acupuncture points on Xiang Fei’s arm.
"Are you okay?" Xiao Lin asked Xiang Fei, seeing their pale face.
"Watch out!" Xiang Fei forcefully embraced Xiao Lin, spun around, and took a solid kick to the back, spewing a mouthful of blood onto Xiao Lin’s chest.
Xiao Lin grabbed Xiang Fei. If Xia Xue wasn’t by his side, he believed Xiao Lang had already started to act, and he felt assured.
"You will all pay!" With these words thrown, the silver needle was put away, and from his belt, he pulled out a short knife, about twenty centiters long, made of special material with cold steel properties; it could flexibly fold into any desired angle. The intricate handle was handcrafted from pure silver. Xiang Fei stared at the short blade, involuntarily admiring the craftsmanship’s precision and ingenuity.
In many combat scenarios, close-range attacks emphasize grappling and fighting techniques, where a one-second deviation could give the opponent a chance to kill you. Xiao Lin was radiating an aura of murder; his sharp gaze swept towards the opponent; at that mont, he was no longer a doctor but a demon. Xiang Fei seed to see the Grim Reaper wielding a scythe at the sentenced-to-death individual from behind, shocked by Xiao Lin’s aura, unconsciously retreating.
All people desire to live, so in a life-threatening instant, they can unleash unlimited energy. Perhaps the opponent is too strong, or maybe the crisis awareness triggered latent abilities; the opponent dodged almost hitting Xiao Lin’s shoulder with a bullet.
Xiao Lin’s eyes glimred with a cold light; disinterested in continuing the fight, he slid to the opponent’s back through a lower region, the short blade glead, blood splattering on his hand.
They collapsed silently to the ground.
"Can you walk?" Xiao Lin helped Xiang Fei up, knowing there was another bomb in the storage room, yet clearly not detonated.
"This place is not safe long-term. I’ll take you outside first; there are SWAT mbers outside who will escort you to the hospital. I’ll handle the rest myself."
Wu Shuang searched every suite for Xiao Lin’s figure, her anxious expression fixed on her face. The mayor had issued orders for everyone to be safely escorted out, without a scratch. If anything went wrong, the entire SWAT team would be held accountable. Who exactly was this person? Although she knew Xiao Lin was not ordinary, she didn’t expect even the mayor to step in!
"Xiao Lin, Dr. Xiao, where are you?" She had to shout, but in the next instant, the smoke made her close her mouth in panic.
"Officer Wu, there’s a severely injured person here. Please take him out and send him to the hospital. I suspect he’s suffered severe internal trauma; you must ensure proper care!" Xiao Lin cradled Xiang Fei, then remarked, "I’ve made a minor treatnt on his spleen and stomach; during transport, ensure the silver needle doesn’t fall, and find a traditional Chinese dicine doctor to accompany."
"Are you injured?" Wu Shuang motioned for the person behind her to take Xiang Fei while blocking Xiao Lin’s path: "You must co with outside. I can’t risk the entire SWAT team’s livelihood playing gas here with you."
"You’re no match for ."
"You can knock out first!" Before finishing her sentence, Wu Shuang didn’t even know how Xiao Lin struck, pain surged in her neck, her vision went black, and she knew nothing of what happened next.
"Take your Officer Wu out and evacuate everyone in the building completely; do not linger here." With that said, Xiao Lin sprinted towards the depths of the fourth floor.
The explosion earlier ca from the far end, far from their suite. He didn’t understand why the opponent went to such lengths if the target was to kill them, which could have been done in the suite. There must be a fundantal truth behind illogical actions, and a setup beyond common sense suggests a simple possibility — to lure the wolf into the house.
