"Your woman is now in my hands. Bring Chu Fangxiu over, and let’s have a good talk." Poison Dragon lit up a cigarette, there was silence on the other end of the phone, but the laughter of a child could be heard from the background sound. "It sounds very lively there!"
"Address." Xiao Lin had his hand pulled by Niu Niu. After glancing down at her, he beckoned to Xia Xue and walked out of the hospital room.
"What’s the rush? Wait for my news, Dr. Xiao. You’d better not try anything funny, or your woman’s life will be over."
Listening to the beeps coming from the phone, Xiao Lin’s finger joints turned white. Xia Xue held up his hand, her worried eyes gazing silently at Xiao Lin.
"Where is Lian?"
"She went to the beauty salon for this morning. She should already be back at the professor’s building, waiting for us." Xia Xue answered without knowing.
Poison Dragon’s target was Xia Xue. Since she was right in front of him, it was very likely that Lian had been taken.
"I’m going sowhere first. Wait for back ho. If you encounter Lian, call to inform . If not, go to the farm and stay with Hua Qingyi and the others. Don’t act alone." Xiao Lin instructed quietly.
"What happened? Whose call was that just now?"
"Lian might be in trouble. Don’t worry. Xiao Lang will protect you on the way to the farm. Don’t go back to Xia Garden; it’s not safe anywhere." With that, Xiao Lin hurriedly dashed out of the hospital building, got into his QQ car, and sped away.
"Poison Dragon didn’t take Xia Xue to the designated location." Elder Guo remarked to Fatty Wang, who was examining a blueprint. The latter rely lifted his head and responded with an expression that showed he expected nothing less.
"Poison Dragon just wants so assurance. Let him flounder. What can he do with Xiao Lin’s woman?" Fatty Wang stepped out from behind his desk, poured a drink for Elder Guo, and lit a cigarette for himself. Recently, the doctor ntioned a slight liver issue that required abstaining from alcohol for so ti—life was important and needed nurturing. "Wouldn’t it be better to take this opportunity to get rid of him? Saves the trouble of doing it myself and getting my hands dirty."
Fatty Wang’s tone was as if he were talking about squashing an ant, casual and indifferent.
Elder Guo didn’t offer any opinion. Poison Dragon’s existence was indeed like a ti bomb for them. A few previous cases of dancers being killed in hotels had already drawn police attention. He didn’t know the connection between Poison Dragon and Human Skin Granny, but not eliminating this man would inevitably ruin his major plans.
The outco for soone who’s left behind is another matter; that question had been rooted in his mind ever since Zhang Teng died. That woman’s thods were indescribably bizarre, and that man, always standing in the corner, exerted an inexplicable pressure. Such a person wasn’t soone Fatty Wang could control, yet he clung to Fatty Wang’s side, making his intentions hard to guess. If he didn’t think of a way to extricate himself soon, it would be too late.
"So what about Chu Fangxiu?"
"Follow Xiao Lin, and naturally, you will find Chu Fangxiu. Kill him to keep him silent; anyone obstructing my way must die." Fatty Wang suddenly burst into laughter, resembling soone madly perched on the edge of insanity, creating a presence so intimidating even top assassins dared not approach.
Exiting the office, Elder Guo quickly made a call. Upon learning of Xiao Lin’s whereabouts, he dashed over.
Chu Fangxiu was eating fried rice; the food here was pretty good. He chewed the bits of at in the rice, but there wasn’t enough, for soone like him, always craving at, this wasn’t enough to satisfy.
As soon as Xiao Lin entered, he didn’t say a word, grabbing Chu Fangxiu and pulling him out. "Young Master Xiao!" Violet Scale only managed to glimpse as the person got into the car, and before he could utter a word, the car had already disappeared.
"Who are you, and where are you taking ?" Chu Fangxiu shrunk into the back seat, trying to open the car door to escape, but he heard the sound of the lock.
"If you don’t want to get killed, and run over by the car behind, go ahead and jump." Xiao Lin didn’t have the patience for chit-chat with this trickster. On the way, Xia Xue had already confird Lian’s kidnapping, and Xiao Lin forced himself to calm down. That familiar feeling swept over him for a mont, reminding him of how Hu Zi was once in this sa situation. He gripped the steering wheel tightly, maxing out the speed, heading onto the highway.
Chu Fangxiu, hands tightly clutching the seat, felt as if he might fly off, unable to hear the cars whizzing by outside or the engine’s roar. Within the car, it was silent; he could hear the other’s breathing.
"Where are we going? I really don’t have any money?" Chu Fangxiu pitifully laid on the front seat, gazing at Xiao Lin with pleading eyes, recalling it was this person who saved him before. "Let go back!"
Xiao Lin ignored the man, steering the car into a winding road off the second exit, entering the secured area, with the farm in sight.
Hua Qingyi and Miao Shaoqing were loading things into the car. Seeing Xiao Lin’s car arrive, they paused their activities.
"Is it this guy?" Hua Qingyi opened the back door, pulling Chu Fangxiu out.
"Teach him a lesson, but go easy, he’s a fake." Xiao Lin handed Chu Fangxiu over to Hua Qingyi, lit a cigarette, and exchanged glances with Miao Shaoqing, who greeted him with a nod, his rank now a level higher, showing promise.
"Have you been in touch with Elder Miao?" Xiao Lin suddenly asked about Master Miao, surprising Miao Shaoqing. "Just a random question, no need to be so tense." Recognizing Miao Shaoqing’s nervousness, Xiao Lin patted his shoulder.
"The old man is quite healthy."
"That’s good!"
anwhile, on the other side, Chu Fangxiu let out wailing cries, being toyed with by Hua Qingyi and taking punches with no shortage to his face and body.
"That’s enough, take him to the basent." After taking the last puff of his cigarette, Xiao Lin headed into the farm.
"Young Master Xiao!" Unexpectedly noticing Xiao Lang’s presence, he hadn’t seen him in a while, and the boy seed to have thinned out a lot.
"Thank you for your hard work!" Xiao Lin gratefully patted him, indicating he could be less formal. "Once this is all settled, you can return to the Night Owl Team.
"It’s nothing, Young Master Xiao." Xiao Lang still looked like a kid no matter how you saw it, but his skills were on par with Hua Qingyi’s.
"Is Xia Xue upstairs?" Xiao Lang nodded, and Xiao Lin dashed up.
"You’re here?" Upon seeing Xiao Lin, Xia Xue rushed over to hug him.
"Stay put here and don’t wander around, alright? Don’t worry anymore." Xia Xue couldn’t erase the expression on Xiao Lin’s face; it was hard to describe yet deeply imprinted on her heart.
