"Hey kid, you alright?"
"Yeah, I'm fine, but I've found sothing new." Shi Shuai, entirely oblivious to Xu Ming's concern, walked into a hotel with another person after leaving the coffee shop.
"What did you find? Don't do anything rash." Xu Ming's nerves instantly tightened at Shi Shuai's so-called discovery. Ever since he followed the boss, Shi Shuai's style completely changed. His initiative and drive are like a wound-up machine, unstoppable.
"Don't worry, I won't do anything rash, I'm heading back now."
What good could co from two people entering a hotel? So, Yao Zheng's secretary isn't as innocent as he seems. If this gets photographed and sent to a magazine, it would be big news.
Finding nothing worth watching, he restarted the car and drove back to the police station. Upon seeing him, Xu Ming gave him a knock on the head, glaring at him, leaving Shi Shuai inexplicably annoyed.
"Lao Xu, are you going through nopause?" Rubbing his head, Shi Shuai unhappily sat to the side.
"Didn't I tell you to co straight back? Where did you run off to?"
"I was on my way back but ran into two people. Guess who?" Shi Shuai started his gossiping nature again, attracting other colleagues. He sat on the edge of a desk, holding a cup. "You'll never guess who I saw."
"Enough with the suspense, spill it already." Xu Ming was ready to give him another knock and crowded around to hear more.
"Fine, I'll tell you. Why so fierce?" Shi Shuai pouted unhappily, hugging his head. "I saw Yao Zheng's secretary taking a girl into a hotel!"
"What? No way!" As soon as Shi Shuai finished, soone objected.
"Why not? Every man has needs, right? And Secretary Li's taste seems pretty innocent." Seeing the disbelief, Shi Shuai imdiately pulled out his phone. "See? I've got evidence. I knew you wouldn't believe , so I took a picture."
"Wow, it really is Yao Zheng's secretary." Soone snatched the phone, and the figure in the photo was unmistakably Secretary Li.
"How is that possible?" The little officer who had denied it earlier snatched the phone back in disbelief.
"The evidence is right in front of you, and you still don't believe it?" Shi Shuai was getting a little heated. Although they were all good colleagues, friends, and brothers, being doubted in the face of facts was uncomfortable for him. "Wang Xi, what's your deal?"
Shi Shuai pointed at him and shouted loudly. Xu Ming, right next to him, felt his ears ringing from the volu. "Quiet down, everyone. Let's hear why Wang Xi doubts it. If he has suspicions, there must be a reason, not like so who are jittery all day long."
"Lao Xu, don't insult people indirectly!" Shi Shuai still cared about Xu Ming's face and kept quiet, wanting to hear Wang Xi's doubts.
"Wang Xi, why do you think it's impossible?" Xu Ming asked Wang Xi, who was still examining the phone pictures.
"The person in the photo does look like Secretary Li, but the timing doesn't match up!" Wang Xi was puzzled. The person in the image was indeed Yao Zheng's secretary, matching in build and appearance. But who did Wang Xi see earlier that morning?
"What do you an by 'the timing doesn't match up'? Are you possessed or sothing?" Shi Shuai's quick temper was well-known, so everyone was just rolling their eyes at his aggressive deanor.
"I was on a task this morning and happened to pass by the governnt building. Around ten o'clock, I saw Secretary Li with Yao Zheng coming out of it, with two won by their side. How could they turn up at a hotel? Plus, Xiangyang Street and Comrcial Street are quite far apart, one at the head and the other at the middle end. Isn't that strange?"
"Are you serious?" Shi Shuai retrieved his phone. The ti displayed was around ten-thirty, and he recalled leaving Ji Weihua's office at approximately 9:45. Considering Wang Xi's reported ti was past ten, there was a twenty-minute discrepancy. It wouldn't suffice to move from the governnt building to Xiangyang Street, have a coffee, and enter the hotel within this tifra. He indeed waited outside the cafe for quite so ti.
"I called you at around 10:20, what were you doing then?" Xu Ming asked Shi Shuai. He made the call in the morning after waiting for Shi Shuai to return for a long ti, and there was no ti display on the landline.
"I was in the car, waiting for Secretary Li to co out of the coffee shop."
"That ans both of you saw Yao Zheng's secretary around the sa ti." Xu Ming recapped their statents, producing a startling result.
"Are there two Secretary Lis?" Wang Xi looked at Xu Ming and then looked at Shi Shuai, unsure himself. "Was I mistaken?"
Nobody would likely doubt such an outco. Wang Xi wouldn't lie; his honesty wouldn't draw suspicion, while Shi Shuai had photographic evidence, making the conclusion inevitable.
"There are two Secretary Lis. Which one is real, or are both real?" Shi Shuai, sparked by imagination, wondered. This was possible, but why would Yao Zheng need two identical Secretary Lis?
"Let's wait for the boss to co back and discuss this!" Xu Ming didn't dare conclude. "Maybe they're twins or sothing!"
"Wait a second!" The little officer who first checked the phone shouted.
"Li Wei, you better have sothing. You're shouting in my ear, and I can't hear anything else." Li Wei, a loud talker, grinned at Shi Shuai. "Let see the phone again."
"What for?" Despite asking, Shi Shuai handed the phone back to Li Wei.
"I've seen this woman before." After examining closely, Li Wei confird the person in the photo and nodded at Xu Ming.
"Honestly, when I saw this woman just now, she looked really familiar, like I've seen her sowhere, but I couldn't rember where."
"Is that so?" Xu Ming didn't look at Shi Shuai's photo. Judging by their tone, they must have t her before. If she was out working, it's likely she's Miss Wu or sothing, giving them a search range. "Let see."
Taking the phone, the picture of Ling Xiu imdiately reminded him of soone. "Ye Zi!" Xu Ming nad the person, pointing at the woman in the photo. "Isn't this the girl I asked An Geng to track?"
"Where's An Geng?"
"He went out and hasn't co back yet! Who is Ye Zi?" Shi Shuai was curious why Xu Ming would know Miss Wu. "Lao Xu, you're looking for won behind your brothers' backs, huh!" (To be continued.
