Genovis is located in the southernmost region, where most of the area is beaches and azure waters, the most beautiful piece of land, yet the least developed. It is far from the city center streets and those gun smokes, ostensibly a tourist developnt zone but in reality is disregarded by other clans. However, Genovis, seeming indifferent to everything and never swaying, leads a leisurely life under the affection of two generations of Godfathers. Yet a gang will always be a gang, with its blood sll impossible to cleanse away even in purity.
"Hua! I'm so glad you ca here." Jessica gave Hua Qingyi a big hug, her bright eyes shining like gemstones in the sunlight, while Francis stood silently beside her.
"You didn't tell today was your Genovese Clan's gathering." Slightly discontented, Hua Qingyi was still dragged into the hall. The lavish decoration displayed wealth, but no one knew where Genovis's money ca from, as he did absolutely nothing yet possessed enviable wealth.
"I wanted to give you a surprise." Jessica pulled Hua Qingyi's hand through the crowd to a middle-aged man with red hair, who was talking with two others, and fell silent when Jessica approached.
"Uncle, sorry to interrupt your conversation, I want to introduce you to a friend." Jessica did not feel she was being rude to the three before her, her voice always ensuring more people knew what she was doing.
"Jessica, mind the occasion." Edmund frowned, wondering who invited Jessica, which made him feel incredibly awkward. Yet the other two had their eyes fixed firmly on Jessica's proud chest and the intentionally exposed white flesh.
"Hua Qingyi! Nice to et you." Hua Qingyi coughed and extended his hand, Edmund looked him up and down, and after half a second, as Hua Qingyi was about to withdraw his hand, Edmund finally grasped it.
"You've been quite popular lately." The pun made both of them laugh. "Jessica, entertain our guest well while we have a chat in the small parlor."
"Okay uncle, with around, your party will surely not be dull. Darling, make sure to co back soon!" Jessica released her characteristic laughter and plunged into the crowd. She was known to be a whore, widely recognized as such, while Francis, following closely by, seed like a pure angel, ever-clean beside even the dirt.
Edmund took a cigar from a wooden box, and a particularly conspicuous and mismatched chair was placed slightly left of center in the room, creating a sense of isolation.
"Mr. Hua, please sit!" Edmund appeared courteous, his visage marked with age lines making him look about fifty, while Francis was only eighteen. "Between you and Jessica..."
"We genuinely adore each other!" Hua Qingyi imdiately interrupted Edmund, his smiling eyes exuding a scent of love.
Haha! Edmund acted as if he understood and chuckled twice. "Mr. Hua, with no one else here, what's your purpose in approaching our Genovese Clan?"
"Mr. Edmund, that's a blunt question, is it or you?" Hua Qingyi crossed his right leg, took out a cigarette, and lit it. "Shouldn't I be asking instead, what's your purpose in having Jessica approach ? Ah!" As Edmund was about to explain, Hua Qingyi softly exclaid. "You want the Xiao Family dead, that's quite bold, with considerable consequences."
"If my intelligence isn't mistaken, you are friends with Xiao Lin." Edmund dryly laughed twice again to conceal his inner tension.
"Family can be betrayed, let alone friends. We Chinese have a saying, 'we part ways when values diverge', Xiao Lin and I have fundantal differences, hence unable to continue our path together."
"Tell your purpose."
"That depends on Mr. Edmund's sincerity!" Hua Qingyi shook his head smilingly, although cigars are aromatic, cigarettes are more convenient, he squinted his lovely eyes, absorbing the hesitation of this mafia family leader.
"Young man, before negotiating terms, first asure your strength, what capital do you have to discuss sincerity with ?" Edmund was sowhat angry, appearing powerless in front of this young man.
"We Chinese advocate reciprocal courtesy, you want to take out Xiao Lin, shouldn't you also present so return gifts?"
"In fact, you've returned defeated, Mr. Hua isn't that forgetful, right!"
"Hmm! Mr. Edmund thinks this way, then we have no sincerity to discuss." As Hua Qingyi said, he was about to stand up and leave, but was stopped by two bodyguards. "Is this how the renowned Genovese Clan treats guests?" Hua Qingyi's voice dropped sharply, striking a straight punch to the left bodyguard who reached out to him.
A cracking sound, breaking the man's ribs instantly, who collapsed on the ground, Hua Qingyi looked at the right one. "Any later, he surely won't survive!" The bodyguard glanced at Edmund, who waved his hand, rendering the semi-conscious person dragged away through a dark door.
"Mr. Hua, very strong! A punch can claim a life, but this is Genovis's territory, do you believe you can easily escape after killing my man?"
"Mr. Edmund, you wouldn't be foolish enough to think I'm all alone, would you?" Hua Qingyi clapped his hands, grinning as he returned to Edmund's front, yet seated on the conspicuous chair.
"What do you an?" Edmund's hazel pupils flashed with a dangerous glow.
"Bring forth sincerity, we shall continue! If you still insist on your stance, then I'm sorry, I have no desire to continue discussing."
"What does Mr. Hua hope we do?" Edmund retreated a step.
"Help find the person I'm looking for!"
"Sure, but under what capacity does Mr. Hua request ?" Edmund smiled smugly. "As soone from Huaxia or as Jessica's future husband? As far as I know, you are currently single with no steady partner."
"Oh, uncle!" Just then Jessica barged in, hooking Hua Qingyi's arm. "He certainly joins our Genovese Clan as my fiancé, becoming one of us!" She winked at Hua Qingyi, her water-filled starry eyes gleaming brightly. "Uncle Edmund, you know my parents died in the last family battle, leaving only Caloy and I relying on each other, I need a capable, reliable, and loving man for support."
Edmund focused on Hua Qingyi, the latter feeling a bit coerced into marriage, yet for one who frequently mingled amid won, it wasn't significant. (To be continued.
