Nick Fury, Natasha, Coulson, and Captain Arica: ???
When I type a question mark, it's not because I have a problem; it's because I think you have a problem!
What do you an, "a spar to warm your bones"? Do you understand the concept of respecting your elders? Be kind to a ninety-year-old man, you bastard!
After a brief mont of bewildernt, Captain Arica didn't imdiately accept Peter's challenge. Instead, he asked weakly:
"Um, could soone first tell where I am, and... what year is it?"
Hearing this, Nick Fury's heart skipped a beat. He nudged Coulson aside with his hip and squeezed in front of the Captain, trying to maximize his favorability points with his future "gold-dal hitter."
"Captain, welco ho! The year is 2009. I am Nick Fury, the current Director of S.H.I.E.L.D.—the modern successor to the Strategic Scientific Reserve you rember."
He expected this legendary hero from the past to imdiately grant him the respect and deference his position deserved. However, before the Captain could speak, a breezy voice drifted over from the side:
"Quite the surprise, isn't it, Captain?"
Peter stood with his hands in his pockets, leaning casually against a lab bench, his voice dripping with dry, needling sarcasm:
"So this is where we are now, huh? Anyone can end up running a major organization. Really says sothing about how far things have co, doesn't it?~"
Nick Fury: (ノ▼Д▼)ノ Is this kid ever going to stop pushing buttons?!
Captain Arica: (˘•ω•˘) Well, I don't know enough about anything, so no comnt.
After a short daze, the politically savvy Captain quickly flashed his standard, idol-like smile. He first nodded politely to Fury, acknowledging the greeting. Then, he looked at Peter and spoke:
"Young man, I'm very grateful to you for saving.
As he spoke, he moved his still-stiff body, and a powerful aura naturally radiated from him.
"As for that fight you ntioned, let's forget it. I don't quite have control over this body yet, and I don't want to hurt y—"
Before he could finish his sentence, a sharp whistling sound cut through the air.
The Captain didn't have ti to think. Relying on his Super Soldier physiology and years of combat instinct, he subconsciously opened his palm to catch the incoming punch.
CLAP!
The mont fist t palm, an explosive crack echoed, sounding like a whip snapping through the air.
Hiss~
Captain Arica involuntarily drew in a sharp breath, his handso face twitching slightly in pain.
What incredible strength!
He looked at the owner of that hand, only to find that the one who had thrown the punch was none other than the refined-looking, barely-adult young man!
This young man has no martial virtue! Coming here to trick! To sneak attack! An old comrade in his nineties!
Peter retracted his fist and flashed a "kind" smile at the Captain:
"Seems your bones haven't completely rusted over."
With that, he dropped into a fighting stance and beckoned to the Captain:
"Co on. Consider this part of the treatnt. A spar is much more effective than those physical therapy exercises."
Peter wasn't a battle maniac, nor was he trying to show off for the sake of it. Instead, he wanted to use the most direct and brutal thod to completely crush Nick Fury's last shred of hope!
Peter had already used the Big Ball Rasengan to demonstrate his "magical" deterrence. Now, he intended to use pure physical power to thoroughly floor the man Fury considered the "ceiling of close combat"!
He wanted to crush Fury's expectations through a total overmatch in combat ability, making the Director realize one simple truth: Peter Parker was an existence he could never contend with.
On the other side, seeing Peter repeatedly provoke the Captain made Fury almost burst with joy.
He had worried the Captain might refuse to help him deal with Peter out of gratitude for saving his life. Now that Peter was practically pushing the Captain into his arms, he wasn't going to be polite.
Let the Captain give you a good thrashing and teach you the aning of a power gap!
Thinking this, Fury imdiately spoke up: "Captain, since Peter says it's part of the treatnt, why don't you exchange a few blows with him? It's for your own good, after all."
Fury kept egging the Captain on, stopping just short of shouting, "Captain, show so spirit, don't lose face!"
The Captain flexed his still-numb palm and looked at the boy in front of him—unfathomably strong, yet with clear eyes that seed to hold no malice. After a mont's hesitation, he finally nodded.
"Alright."
He hopped down from the lab table, his deep blue eyes fixed on Peter as he said softly: "Young man, give it your best shot."
The mont the words left his lips, Peter lunged. His speed was so fast it completely caught Fury and the others off guard.
BAM! BAM! BAM!
In the blink of an eye, Peter and the Captain had exchanged over a dozen moves. They moved so fast that afterimages seed to linger in the air!
"Captain, my constitution is superior to yours. Don't think about holding back; you'd better use your shield."
Hearing this, the Captain subconsciously nodded. The initial exchange had given him a direct understanding of Peter's combat prowess.
This young man was truly extraordinary—his physical stats were definitely on the sa level as his own, and his combat awareness and techniques were superb.
He hadn't faced such a troubleso opponent since before he went under!
Realizing this, the Captain felt a long-lost surge of adrenaline. He actually reached back, grabbed his Vibranium shield, and looked at Peter: "Watch out!"
As he spoke, the Vibranium shield turned into a lethal streak of light, slicing toward Peter's neck at a cunning angle! This was a finishing move honed from countless battles—fast, accurate, and ruthless! It was enough to end any enemy in an instant!
However, facing this thunderous strike, Peter casually caught the shield with one hand. Then, using the shield for leverage, he leaped into the air, delivering an overhead kick toward the back of the Captain's head!
Alarm bells rang in the Captain's mind. Without a second thought, he raised his elbow to hard-block Peter's kick! Neither managed to gain the upper hand, and they were forced to separate temporarily.
The mont they split, they locked eyes, both catching a glimpse of excitent in the other.
Peter thought to himself that the man truly lived up to the "Marvel 50/50" reputation. Even without a fully recovered body, the Captain's combat intuition and experience allowed him to neutralize Peter's attacks.
anwhile, looking at Peter, the Captain felt the boy's silhouette vaguely overlap with soone else—Bucky Barnes, his old brother-in-arms!
"Again!" the two shouted almost in unison, clashing together once more with uncanny synchronization.
BAM! BAM! BAM!
The storm-like offensive left the other three in the lab completely stunned. Nick Fury, Natasha, and Coulson were now huddled in a corner, their faces written with shock.
Is this... the true strength of Captain Arica? Truly powerful!
