Su, I understand,” the waiter said with a joyous smile across his face, finally able to sell premium goods during the absence of the boss.

The waiter surmised that the rchandise must have been left by the gentleman who had just visited.

Just as Su Chang’an was about to say more, he heard Ye Tian’s sound transmission, and his figure swiftly flew out of the shop, eting Ye Tian at the entrance.

“What has happened?” Su Chang’an had not yet seen the hermit, but he beca very vigilant upon detecting sothing awry, having been previously alerted by Ye Tian to look for signs of danger.

He only slled an unusual scent, a whiff of gunpowder reminiscent of tal objects he had encountered before.

“Look…” Ye Tian used an Illuminating Mirror magical treasure to reveal the two people hidden within his Heaven-Earth Net, invisible to ordinary people beneath his spell.

Inside his Illuminating Mirror were the two individuals, tied up so tightly they couldn’t move an inch.

“It is them…

These two are the foreigners I ntioned before, the ones who ambushed ,” Su Chang’an recognized the faces of the two n.

The hermits overheard the conversation and also the words spoken by Su Chang’an.

They knew his voice.

Having been lying in wait for so many years within this kingdom, they had long since learned the language and could even speak it fluently.

This allowed them to impersonate others during their assassinations and leave behind evidence such as handwritten notes.

Upon seeing Su Chang’an, their desire to live was no longer their own to control.

Being tortured by these two would be far more painful than death.

They were death servants loyal to their nation, and in the direst monts, they could only bite into the poison hidden in their teeth, ensuring that the dead would forever keep secrets.

Ard with Ye Tian’s Illuminating Mirror magical treasure, Su Chang’an approached the bound pair, intending to interrogate them.

But as he ca before them, he noticed the two n who had held their heads high now lowering them down.

“So it was you…

I did not expect that upon our next eting, you would attempt another assassination.

What conspiracy lies behind your actions?

Why attack , why try to assassinate ?”

Su Chang’an’s interrogation was t with no response, but the air grew thick with the scent of blood—a sll that also carried the aroma of poison.

Having experienced poisoning before, Su Chang’an recognized the toxic scent and leapt dozens of feet away.

Ye Tian, who had been watching closely, saw Su Chang’an’s panicked flight and took back his Illuminating Mirror, noticing through the mirror’s glow that blood laced with the scent of poison was dripping from the mouths of the two n.

Ye Tian understood that such poison was not contagious—it was rely a deadly toxin when ingested, and rely a foul sll to others, not sothing that would cause poisoning through scent alone.

He recalled seeing many detective movies in a past life of high technology, where such death servants of various organizations had to die without fail upon their mission’s failure, leaving no chance for interrogation, taking their secretive goals to the grave.

Casting a spell, he ford a ring of light that contained the dripping blood and the n within it.

“Mr.

Su, they are dead.

You need not fear the poison—it’s not contagious.

Just don’t get the venom on your skin or ingest it, as that could be lethal,” he explained.

“Mr.

Ye, please burn these two n and bury them in a deserted place.

This poison is very hazardous.

If rats, ants, mosquitoes, and the like carry it to humans, it could be deadly,” Su Chang’an requested.

“Alright, don’t worry about it.

I can take care of them.

But you’ve been ambushed several tis now, and just because their mission failed this ti doesn’t an their organization will stop.

You’ve got to be careful from now on,” Ye Tian replied, his brow furrowed as he looked at Su Chang’an, sensing the gravity of the situation, tying together the recurring assassination attempts on Su Chang’an with other assassination incidents.

What concerned him even more was that it wasn’t just a demon causing epidemics among the mortals.

Furthermore, the incident of assassination by agents from another country added a new dinsion to the situation, it wasn’t rely a brawl between cultivators from the Cultivation World and foreign enemies.

It had impacted the kingdom and must be reported so the family could be inford to investigate the matter.

Ye Tian exchanged a few more words with Su Chang’an, advising him to stay safe.

He used an empty Storage Bag to pack both individuals along with the Heaven-Earth Net’s light circle and then took out a Flying Treasure from the Storage Bag to fly towards the distant wilderness, landing atop an uninhabited grand mountain.

This was a region connected to countless grand mountains from other nations where people might be present, but that wouldn’t interfere with his actions.

He retrieved the Heaven-Earth Net from the Storage Bag and sterilized it, then tossed the explosives, gasoline, and the two individuals onto the mountain before throwing a torch down from high above in the distance.

He then flew a bit further away, to avoid being affected by the noise of the explosion.

“Bang bang bang bang bang”

The sounds of the explosions, louder than thunder, were terrifyingly effective, demolishing half of the mountain.

Gasoline and explosives combined had such a horrifying effect.

A large plu of smoke rose into the sky, with the explosion flinging the earth into the air, which then fell back down, turning into black soil.

The trees and bushes on the mountain were instantly ignited, with both the explosion and the fierce flas spreading across the peak.

In his previous life, Ye Tian had only seen such explosives and gasoline blasts in movies or TV series; he had never witnessed a real one.

Even a gasoline car explosion was extrely dangerous.

Ye Tian was sowhat relieved that he had prevented a terrible incident today.

Otherwise, many shops on the Immortal Sect’s main street would have been destroyed.

The losses weren’t simply heavy; many would have died, whether they were ordinary people or those from the Cultivation World, all were under their protection.

He thought of a water-spouting spell to extinguish the blazing fire; he couldn’t allow the fire to spread to other mountains, potentially bringing disaster to ordinary folks.

Having dealt with the situation, Ye Tian flew to their contact point to discuss the incident with the liaison.

Sound Transmission Talismans couldn’t convey much detail, nor reach the family or the Capital City of the kingdom.

Ye Tian’s family had a contact point outside the Immortal Sect, which was set up to facilitate information exchange on a temporary basis.

He arrived in front of a rice shop.

This shop appeared to be just an ordinary Spirit Rice seller, with a shop assistant outside seemingly at the Qi Cultivation Stage.

In reality, however, this shop assistant had already reached the Golden Core Stage, and every shop assistant inside had at least the minimum cultivation of the Golden Core Stage.

The shopkeeper was at the Nascent Soul Stage.

Their family always sent elites for missions; it wouldn’t do for their cultivations to be low.

“Immortal Master, what kind of rice would you like to buy?”

“I’m looking for a special kind of rice, one that slls very fragrant and feels very soft when eaten, with green flowers on its rice stalks.”

Ye Tian and the shop assistant exchanged coded phrases.

Even if the assistant recognized him, they still had to go through this ritual.

This was a customary practice of their family, fearing that soone might impersonate them using a Human Skin Mask.
