The Law Enforcent Elder had arrested that suspicious short disciple.

After all the disciples had completed their matches, he took his newly accepted disciple, Lai Jianlin, to interrogate the suspicious short disciple.

Lai Jianlin had competed against this short disciple and exposed his venomous behavior, binding him and handing him over to the Law Enforcent Elder.

Lai Jianlin had not expected the Law Enforcent Elder to take him in as a disciple, and at this mont followed his master’s footsteps to where the criminals who had made mistakes were held.

This was a place within the West Gate of the Immortal Sect’s underground prison, where criminals were bound and placed in the water prison, locked up by unbreakable chains made from magical treasures.

The surroundings of the water prison were walls, walls that had been refined from special materials by immortals.

Each cage that bound the criminals was surrounded by magical swords and nets, impervious to cutting and burning.

Within each of the prison cells, only a few criminals were held.

So had been locked there for a long ti, standing in the water with their eyes closed, motionless as if they were already dead.

From high above, looking down into the water prison, they saw that the short disciple was also bound within one of the cages, locked up by chains.

But this short disciple had bowed his head, appearing as lifeless as a corpse.

With a wave of his hand, the Law Enforcent Elder instructed a disciple who was guarding the cells to press a chanism, raising the cage of the short criminal.

It rose from within the water prison to a halt at nearly the sa height as them, dozens of ters away.

Lai Jianlin noticed that the short disciple, with his head bowed, was still dripping venomous blood from his mouth, black blood.

“Master, this man has committed suicide.”

The Law Enforcent Elder also saw it.

Suicides out of fear of punishnt were not unheard of, but why would such a venomous individual take his own life before they could even interrogate him?

The death of this short disciple had left the mystery unsolved, which was unexpected for the Law Enforcent Elder.

“A dead man cannot be interrogated, can’t tell us more, and we still don’t know if they had any accomplices.”

Lai Jianlin used his spiritual power to search the man for anything he might have on him.

He found that the man had hidden poison in his teeth, biting down to kill himself.

The man also had a storage bag on him, and there was a tattooed mark, a skull.

Lai Jianlin did not understand what the skull symbolized.

“Master, this man has a storage bag on him, I don’t know if there are any clues in his storage bag, and he has a skull mark on his body.”

Upon hearing Lai Jianlin’s words, the Law Enforcent Elder looked at the short disciple.

His disciple’s ticulous observation indeed made for an excellent investigator.

The Law Enforcent Elder was inwardly pleased to have taken on such a capable disciple.

With a wave of his hand, he pulled the storage bag off the short disciple from afar, and the storage bag floated to a stop one ter in front of them, where they could see it contained many odd items.

So magical treasures inside were ones they had never seen before, unsure even of how they were to be used.

Among the items, so magical treasures had been used only monts ago on the Martial Platform, soaked in a solution—a venomous magical treasure.

The Law Enforcent Elder did not dare to touch his storage bag with his hands, so he took out an empty storage bag from his own and wrapped the short disciple’s storage bag within it.

The Law Enforcent Elder looked at Lai Jianlin and said,

“Perhaps you have not heard of the Skull Mark, which is the emblem of an organization rumored to originate from a Foreign Country.

They excel in assassination, surveillance, stealth, and espionage.

I will take this Storage Bag and study it to find out what material the solution is made of.”

“Yes, Disciple has never heard of it.” Lai Jianlin saw the Skull Mark for the first ti, encountered such a domineering and vicious solution for the first ti, and realized there were dangers in the Cultivation World they did not know about.

“Hmm, you will find out in ti, and there are many more things you do not know.”

The Law Enforcent Elder gestured for Lai Jianlin to follow, and they returned to the cave dwelling where the Law Enforcent Elder resided.

This was a Law Enforcent Hall, inside which there was a Law Enforcent Chamber, as well as the office of the Law Enforcent Elder.

It also had areas for the Law Enforcent Elder to rest and cultivate, as well as quarters for their Disciples to live and practice their cultivation.

“There are empty rooms inside, pick any you like…

For now, follow to the Law Enforcent Chamber.”

“Alright…”

Being new here, Lai Jianlin guessed her master was taking her to et her fellow disciples.

Naturally, the Law Enforcent Elder had his own exclusive Disciples and subordinates, and it was only fitting to introduce the new arrival to them.

The Law Enforcent Elder led Lai Jianlin into the conference hall.

He was not the only Law Enforcent Elder there, along with his subordinates, but he was the highest-ranking official present.

Trailing her master, Lai Jianlin entered the conference hall, where the main seat was empty.

Many people occupied the seats on both sides, and so, apparently of lower status, stood at the very back.

Perhaps they knew the highest-ranking Elder had taken on a new Disciple, there was one chair on the right side unoccupied, with no one seated there yet.

The Law Enforcent Elder went straight to his chair and sat down.

Lai Jianlin stood at the entrance, not following her master further inside, but still paid respects to the people inside the hall.

Seeing how well-mannered Lai Jianlin was, the Law Enforcent Elder internally expressed his approval, sure that this Disciple must belong to a Cultivator Family, with both appearance and behavior being outstanding.

“Lai Jianlin, co pay your respects to these individuals, Elder Er, Elder San, and your fellow disciples.

That empty seat there is yours.”

Upon hearing her master’s words, Lai Jianlin paid her respects to Elder Er, Elder San, and her fellow disciples before she sat down in the seat that belonged to her.

“You might have heard that today a Disciple with particularly malevolent behavior was apprehended, and just now, as I and Lai Jianlin were interrogating him, he unexpectedly committed suicide,” the Law Enforcent Elder told the assembly in the hall.

“Why would he commit suicide?

Is he hiding secrets, or did he kill himself out of fear of his cris?” Elder San asked.

“It is unknown whether this person has any accomplices within the Immortal Sect.

We need to carry out a thorough investigation,” Elder Er stated.

“There’s another matter, the person had a Skull Mark on his body, and I suspect he is a spy from the Ancient Xia Country.”

The Law Enforcent Elder added.

“This complicates matters.

If he is part of an organization, there is likely a larger sche in play, not just targeting our Immortal Sect but potentially the whole state, or even the entire Cultivation World,” Elder San remarked.

“If such people are within our Immortal Sect, it is possible that other forces in the Cultivation World may also have such persons in hiding,” Elder Er added.

“We must first report this spy incident to the imperial court of Ancient Xia Country and let them handle the investigation,” the Law Enforcent Elder said.

“I wonder if the upcoming competition among all Immortal Sects will encounter any chaos?”

Elder San expressed his concerns once more.

“To prevent these people from making an appearance, we Law Enforcent Elders will also accompany our Disciples to the competition.

Those staying behind at the Immortal Sect must also stay alert,” the Law Enforcent Elder advised everyone.

“Good”

“I will go report to the Sect Master of the Immortal Sect and inform all the Disciples about this matter.” After saying this, the Law Enforcent Elder rose from his chair and left the Law Enforcent Hall.
