Now reading: Chapter 97 - 79: Moratti 2 from Sports Medicine Master System, a Sports novel by The Fire of the Long Night Never Sleeps.

Moratti almost couldn’t catch his breath again.

’Act first, report later. A classic move!’

’Why not just wait until after the surgery is finished to tell ?’ he thought.

But Blanchini said this was Ronaldo’s doing. What could Moratti do besides curse him under his breath? He knew Ronaldo all too well. This was exactly the kind of thing he would do.

After fiercely running a hand through his thinning hair, Moratti said in a sharp voice, "Giovanni, I hope this isn’t so trick of yours."

Moratti knew that neither Blanchini nor those two bastards from Brazil were good news.

His biggest fear was that this latest surgery was so kind of devious sche cooked up by the three of them.

"Of course not," Blanchini quickly denied over the phone. "We’re really just looking out for Ronnie’s best interests. We hope he can return to the field completely healthy."

Moratti scoffed, then said, "Fine. Wait for in the United States. I’m flying to the United States to see for myself just how skilled this doctor you’re talking about really is."

With that, he hung up the phone.

He stopped watching the ga and imdiately told his assistant to book a flight.

’Ten months.’

Moratti muttered. That would be this November.

Moratti had certainly given up hope of Ronaldo returning this season.

Resting until November would an missing half a season, which was actually acceptable.

Plus, he would miss the National Team gas. Moratti had long been dissatisfied with the Brazil National Team constantly calling up Ronaldo.

「Far away in Phoenix.」

"Chen, how does it feel?" Calva asked Chen Yu with a wide smile.

Chen Yu looked to the east and saw a small mountain peak. He vaguely rembered it was called Humpback Mountain, over eight hundred ters high, a popular hiking spot for the people of Phoenix.

The entire mountain was a dusty gray, with hardly a tree in sight—only low-lying scrub brush.

It was a desert region, after all.

The two of them were at a nursing ho 15 kiloters from the city center, at the foot of Humpback Mountain.

Phoenix has plenty of sunshine and is a well-known retirent destination in the United States. There are a large number of retirent communities and nursing hos here.

This nursing ho that Cavani had found was on a two-acre plot of land. In addition to a dical services building, it also had several recreation centers and even a golf driving range.

Of course, surrounding the dical center, there were also 15 residential units.

Chen Yu thought for a mont and said, "Calva, I feel like we’re running a country club, not a clinic."

It was a nice place, to be sure.

And it probably wasn’t cheap, either.

Calva said, "The fact that you think it’s like a country club ans we’re on the right track. In my vision, our clinic, besides providing the best dical services—in other words, you..."

He pointed at Chen Yu, then continued, "should also provide recuperation services for our clients. For example, if we serve athletes, their recovery periods often last for several months. They can’t just stay in a cold hospital the whole ti, right? We should also create a comfortable environnt for them, so isn’t this place perfect?"

Chen Yu nodded. It reminded him of the rehabilitation center in Kableton. It really should be set up exactly as Calva was suggesting.

"Okay, let’s do it then." Chen Yu wasn’t one to drag his feet.

This ti, regardless of the final investnt amount, Chen Yu, who wasn’t putting in a single di, would still own twenty percent of the clinic.

As for the dical side of things, Chen Yu would be fully in charge, with the authority to recruit doctors and purchase dical equipnt.

As for daily operations, Calva would find a professional manager to handle it on his behalf.

Of course, with an investnt like this, the fees definitely wouldn’t be cheap.

A single stay would probably cost hundreds of thousands, if not millions.

But they were targeting professional athletes with astonishing incos. As long as they could get their health back, these athletes would be willing to pay any price.

After discussing the renovations for the dical center and what equipnt to purchase, Chen Yu returned to the arena.

Today was the last day of January, and there was a ga: a ho ga against the Grizzlies.

It was also the first ho ga after a long six-ga road trip.

There wasn’t much going on with the team. Chen Yu just had to follow his routine, grind for experience, and train.

But there was a lot going on with the league.

The day before yesterday, Stern had given Chen Yu a call to talk about one thing: the upcoming All-Star Ga in Washington.

The voting for the East and West had already closed, and the All-Star rosters had been announced.

In the East, Carter had been the leading vote-getter, but after Hill’s return, he overwhelmingly surpassed Carter and Iverson to claim the top spot in the East.

It was just as they said: he wasn’t called "Arica’s Son-in-Law" for nothing. Few stars in the entire NBA had his kind of mainstream appeal; his popularity with everyday Aricans was off the charts.

So Hill wasn’t just the top vote-getter in the East, but the top vote-getter for the entire All-Star Ga, receiving a full 1.9 million votes.

Over in the West, O’Neal took the top spot with 1.5 million votes.

With Hardaway injured and confird to be missing this year’s All-Star Ga, J Kidd claid the starting point guard position for the West.

Stern contacted Chen Yu because, for one thing, Chen Yu would be serving as the West team’s doctor.

And then there was the matter of injuries.

Chen Yu was amazed to learn that Moning hadn’t even retired yet. Not only was he selected as an All-Star, but according to Stern, the Heat were planning on having him make a coback after the All-Star Ga.

’Completely reckless.’

Given Moning’s condition, getting on the court was like playing with a ticking ti bomb. You never knew when it would go off and threaten his life.
