Thankfully, Constable Li’s injury upon arrival rendered him incapacitated, preventing him from causing further disturbances. Otherwise, the word “rebellion” would have surely escaped his lips long ago.
Sun Meng’s demeanor and utterance of the word “rebellion” now made perfect sense. In his mind, Shao Yunduan had already been branded as a rebel.
Given Sun Meng’s entrenched bias, no amount of explanation would suffice.
Left with no recourse, Shao Yunduan had no option but to confront the situation head-on, fully mitting to whatever course of action lay ahead.
