Now reading: Chapter 54: Senator’s Visit to Veldari from Star Wars: Daimon's Story, a Fantasy novel by DrDred.

Returning to Veldari, Daimon showed the technologies that he learned to Cortana. She scanned all the technologies and already began to create a comprehensive report about how much they would cost and the benefits they could have.

"These Dinsional Gates are naturally the most important piece of technology here as they will allow us to colonize distance parts of the galaxy before the Republic can reach them. It will also enhance our offensive and defensive capabilities regarding military deploynts. Trade will also be more profitable as ships won't have to travel long distances." explained Cortana.

Standing next to Daimon, Progenitor Raelos chid in with his own opinion. "We could also build the Dinsional Gates close to Republic space and then allow them to use them for a fee. This will increase our profits even more while creating a system where a large portion of their trade will rely on access to our Dinsional Gates. With this it will be easier to influence politics soti in the distance future." Daimon nodded in agreent at this idea.

"Yes, these Gates could potentially reshape galactic trade and politics. Start the production process imdiately." Daimon ordered as Cortana began to formulate a hundred-year plan to build 12 Dinsional Gates during that ti.

Another fleet was already en route to the region of space across the galaxy to start colonizing the systems. The region consisted of major worlds like Mygeeto, Yaga Minor, Borosk, Garqi, and Kalee, the howorld of the Kaleesh species. There were hundreds of other planets that were yet to be discovered by exploration teams.

All of this would be handled by Orin Volkar and the Ministry of Expansion and Colonization. This left Daimon to pursue so projects of his own.

———

A few days later landing at Port Veil in the Northern part of Aeteris, a Republican Senator had arrived on the planet not as a Senator, but as a tourist. He wanted to see the city that the Gen'Dai had built in person without all of the escorts and such. He was permitted by the Imperium to do this but had to bring at least two guards with him.

So behind him were two of his most trusted guards, a tall Duros nad Kalven and a quiet, sharp-eyed human nad Mira. Both were wearing civilian clothing, but their posture and presence made it clear that they were anything but ordinary tourists.

The Senator, Alric Devane of the Mid-rim Trade Bloc, had long been skeptical of the Veldari Imperium. But now, standing amidst the grandeur of Port Veil, he understood why they had such a good reputation. The city was a marvel and comparable to even the most developed Republic Cities. Towering and floating structures could be seen for miles casting shadows over plazas filled with citizens.

A hover tram awaited at the edge of the port. Alric boarded, taking a seat near the front while Kalven and Mira stood nearby, scanning the surroundings. The tram started to move along an invisible path, giving the Senator a scenic view of Aeteris.

A tour guide, a Veldari native, augnted with a light neural interface visible along her temples, greeted them via the tram's holo-system. "Welco to Aeteris, capital of the Veldari Imperium. You are now entering Sector One: The Imperial Administrative Sector. In the distance you can see the Imperial Palace, along with the ministries and bureaucratic hubs responsible for managing the Imperium."

Alric leaned forward as they passed the Imperial Palace noting how massive it was compared to the rest of the city. The structure pierced the sky, with drones and other military vehicles flying around it.

Sector Two revealed the academic district, ho to the Academies where hundreds of thousands of people learned various subjects to prepare them for their future life. Though because of their long-life spans, Gen'Dai were always learning throughout their life. While the Gen'Dai were the majority, dozens of other species could also be seen walking through the Sector, going from class to class or so to lunch.

Then ca Sector Three: The Military Nexus. Miles of space were occupied by barracks, military academies, garrison towers, ch hangars, and training dos. Alric saw squads of soldiers marching in formations, while massive walkers were being loaded onto carriers.

"This sector is not typically part of civilian tours," the guide noted, "but clearance was granted for limited viewing."

Alric raised an eyebrow wondering if he was luckier than he thought.

Sector Four was the heart of culture. Art galleries, opera dos, virtual arenas, and amphitheaters were filled with citizens watching dance troupes or competing in duels, contests of logic, speed, and tactical acun hosted in shared neural spaces.

At last, the tram ca to a stop at the Sky Pronade, a circular platform suspended above the entire city by six Force infused pillars. From here, Alric could see the curvature of the world.

He spent a few minutes walking around looking at all the different viewpoints before he made his way down to the city. He rented an air speeder and started to visit the place he had heard about from other senators. The first was a popular restaurant which housed hundreds of people at a ti and served so of the traditional food of Veldari which tourists liked. It was probably the most sought out thing by people visiting the planet.

After that, he saw a technology expedition where the governnt showed future technology and where other companies could show their technology to the governnt to be approved for public use. Once approved, they would be able to produce the technology under a contract which dictated certain terms and such.

At the expedition he saw so amazing technologies such as a neural enhancer that would accelerate learning for minor species, a de-aging serum, and a portable shield generator for military use. Each device showcased only a fraction of advances the Imperium had made in their scientific endeavors.

And as he was walking back to his room he had rented; he saw a temple. He knew that the religion here was centered around the God-Emperor, a title Alric assud was put on him because he freed them from the last Emperor. Alric lived his life believing that the Jedi were not all as powerful as they seed to be. And with the God-Emperor being a forr Jedi, he believed that he wasn't as strong as he claid to be.

Walking into the temple, he felt the atmosphere completely change. Light emanated from the crystals that were embedded into the walls.

As he was walking, a won standing at the doors stopped him before he could enter. Kalven and Mira remained close ready in case anything happens. The woman showed a sincere smile on her face as she greeted him, "Welco, is this your first ti here?" she asked.

Alric nodded his head, "Yes, I just arrived on the planet and wanted to see for myself what this was all about. I've heard rumors, but I don't think much of them." The woman smiled, "Then you should go in and join us. The ceremony is about to start."

Alric hesitated, looking over towards Kalven and Mira. "What do you say?" He asked his two guards. Mira spoke first. "If you want to see as much of Veldari as possible, might as well go all the way."

"Alright then," Alric said, a bit unsure. They were led inside the temple by the woman, joining the mass of Imperial citizens already gathered. The architecture was a blend of modern and ancient design, with an altar that seed both chanical and organic at the sa ti.

The space was filled with devotees chanting in harmony around the central altar. A priest stepped forward and addressed them. "Brothers, sisters, children of the God-Emperor. Welco! We gather today to celebrate our unity, our growth, and our purpose under His grand vision!" A holographic image of Daimon suddenly appeared above the altar. "He gave us freedom! He gave us purpose! He gave us strength!" The priest's voice echoed through the hall. "Praise be to the God-Emperor!" The room in unison, shouted back: "Praise be to the God-Emperor!" Alric stood still, half in awe and half disbelieving. He had expected fervor, but not on this scale.

What followed that was the teachings of the core tenants of the Religion which was called The Eternal Accord. When the ceremony ended, he left without a word, questions swirling in his mind about how powerful one individual could be. For now, the Imperium was a friendly empire, but if history proves anything, then eventually they would co into conflict.

Right now, the Imperium didn't have the vast resources or population that the Republic had, but given enough ti and they would.

——

5 years later, the Imperium had already achieved a number of advancents with the technology Daimon acquired on Mortis. The biggest one was the construction of the first Dinsional Gate which allowed for instantaneous travel across the galaxy. This allowed for resources and manpower to be deployed to expansion regions at a rate that was unheard of within known space.

Due to how important it will beco in building up other systems, many more were planned over the next decades. The First Gate connected Outer-Rim worlds to Imperium colonies on the other side of the galaxy.

It significantly increased Imperial presence and dominance within unexplored regions, extending their influence rapidly across dozens of new systems. Not only did they dominate these new systems militarily, but economically as well. Various planets that were too far to trade suddenly found their ships arriving within minutes, opposed to weeks. These two aspects alone made these Dinsional Gates a vital piece of technology for future growth and expansion.

The newly acquired territories around Mygeeto, Yaga Minor, Borosk, Garqi, and Kalee were continually being developed into powerhouses for both military and economic usage.

These new sectors were isolated from Republic space, giving the Imperium a sizable advantage in terms of ti to develop without competition. Daimon was pleased with the progress but knew there was more work to be done.
