"IT'S IN!!!" Jamie Carragher: "Manchester United's all-out offensive has completely broken through Manchester City's possession play and taken the lead once again! It's 3-2!"

Gary Neville was montarily at a loss for words in the gantry.

When he saw the Manchester United players in their iconic red jerseys, all desperately charging toward Manchester City's half without a single mont of hesitation after going behind, the visual impact struck deep into his red soul.

In truth, modern elite football tends to focus heavily on individual superstars, coaching philosophies, and intricate tactics.

But Neville fundantally disagreed with that cold view.

He believed the most dazzling, unforgettable highlights in football history were forged by raw passion, unbreakable teamwork, and sheer character!

Teammates fighting side by side, bleeding for a distant yet shared goal—that should be what footballers and fans cherish most.

"Sir Alex Ferguson once told us in the dressing room: Never, ever cry after a match. If you want to do sothing about it, do it on the green pitch while you still can. As professional players and as n, you must leave the field able to say with absolute pride that we gave everything we possibly could."

Neville suddenly stood up, knocking his chair back, roaring with shared pride into his microphone.

"THIS is the most fundantal, most direct embodint of the true Red Devil Spirit! They refuse to die!"

Though Neville was reluctant to admit it on air, purely tactically speaking, Manchester City was currently the stronger, more cohesive side. No one could rationally deny Guardiola's tactical genius.

So, when the teams were evenly matched on paper or heavily skewed by a tactical system, how could a team mathematically bridge that tactical gap?

Spirit.

Never giving up until the final mont, never ceasing the brutal pursuit of victory.

For example, after the horrific Munich Air Disaster in 1958, Manchester United did not collapse as a club.

They even proudly refused financial aid from European giants like Real Madrid. The epic saga of the Red Devils that followed needs no further elaboration.

No sports team in history has ever risen from the ashes after being so utterly destroyed, only to stand tall once more at the pinnacle of Europe.

It was precisely because Manchester United had endured that tragic, defining chapter that when you donned that blood-red jersey, you were supposed to feel the heavy spirit of never giving up.

"Gonna lift it high, gonna lift it high! (We will soar high, we will soar high!)"

"Our only limit is the sky! (Our only limit is the sky!)"

"Cos through the triumph and the grief! (Because through triumph and grief!)"

"..."

"We will not rest until the whole world knows our na! (We will not rest until the whole world knows our na!)"

The unofficial team anthem, "Lift It High," was suddenly being sung in deafening unison by the Stretford End.

This specific song was famously perford by the Manchester United players themselves before the 1999 FA Cup Final.

Perhaps it was the raw courage this song inspired that led Manchester United to miraculously achieve an unprecedented treble in the following two weeks—a historic, unrepeatable feat for the English club.

By singing this song now in 2019, the Manchester United fans naturally aid to summon and recreate that miracle spirit.

No! They wanted to surpass that miracle with a dostic quadruple, even a quintuple!

Ling gazed up at the bronze statue of Sir Matt Busby in the stands, recalling a historical film he had once watched—United.

Every single academy player had to watch it before officially entering the youth system.

There was a harrowing scene in it where, after the Munich Air Disaster, a young Sir Bobby Charlton survived.

But was it fortune or pure misfortune?

Because he witnessed with his own eyes his close teammates, with whom he had spent day and night and had been joking around just the day before, being brutally torn apart by shards of the aircraft and roaring flas, their flesh and blood blurred beyond recognition.

He even watched helplessly as his dear, prodigal friend Duncan Edwards, his life slowly drained away by kidney failure, passed away after enduring fifteen days of absolute physical tornt.

Even after experiencing all that unimaginable trauma, Sir Bobby Charlton managed to stand up again and lead the club to glory.

'People always say I'm ntally strong,' Ling thought, 'but if I were Sir Charlton, I probably would have given up football and walked away long ago.'

Ling shook off the chaotic, heavy thoughts and sprinted to celebrate the dramatic goal with his ecstatic teammates.

Marcus Rashford's mind had gone completely blank.

His arms were waving aimlessly in a daze as he slid on his knees, muttering to himself, "Am I a hero for Manchester United now?"

"That's right, Rashy, you're a bloody hero!" Ander Herrera replied with a massive laugh, jumping on his back.

How could a young academy player who scored in the 70th minute of the second half of a derby to help Manchester United regain the lead in the title race not be a hero?

"Hey, don't forget my contribution! Trying to shake off Gündogan and Stones with a bruised foot is way harder than getting past Harry in training!" Ling pretended to be highly displeased, joining the pile-on.

Upon hearing this stray bullet, Maguire's big head was suddenly filled with question marks as he retorted indignantly.

"In terms of pure one-on-one defensive ability, John Stones definitely isn't as good as ! And as long as I can firmly hold my position, even if you gained five more pounds of muscle, skip, you wouldn't be able to push past !"

"Does Ling even need to physically push past you, Harry? He could just run around you, and you'd probably only turn halfway by the ti he scored!" Mahrez teased rcilessly, patting the center-back's back.

Maguire curled his lips, not bothering to argue back.

Because he honestly couldn't find a valid reason to disagree.

After the teammates finished their frantic celebration near the corner flag, Ling pulled them together and said earnestly, "A one-goal lead isn't safe against them. Since we won't give up, Manchester City definitely won't give up either. We have to suffer for twenty more minutes."

Perhaps because brutally losing the League Title last season had fully tested and forged the resilience of Manchester City's current players.

And for Manchester City today, as long as they could score just one more goal and maintain a draw, the vital point gap between the two teams at the top of the table would mathematically remain unchanged.

For the remaining three matches, as long as Manchester City played steadily and won, they could basically secure the League Title, letting the blue flags fly permanently over Manchester.

When hope is just half a step away, the energy people can unleash is beyond human imagination.

...

"If today ends in a defeat, I don't know how you'll all feel," Sergio Aguero pointed angrily to the away section, that small sky-blue area in the sea of red, and said in a hoarse, desperate voice to his teammates.

"But I'll regret it for the rest of my damn life."

"So don't let yourselves have regrets today! Rember, Manchester United's defense isn't as impenetrable as you think—otherwise, we wouldn't have easily scored the first two goals! We can break them again!"

After saying this fiery speech, Aguero jogged back to the center circle to restart.

De Bruyne glanced at Ling's retreating back for a mont before silently returning to his own midfield position.

He rationally analyzed the goal United just scored.

The key tactical error lay in David Silva being physically disrupted by Ling in the build-up, leading to an unforced turnover mistake.

Originally, according to Guardiola's ticulous pre-match plan, Silva would have been safely substituted around the 60th minute for fresh legs, but absolutely no one could have predicted the unexpected—Ayric Laporte's horrific first-half injury, which burned a sub window.

Sotis, the most inconspicuous, uncontrollable details can decide the outco of a massive match.

'Let's go!' De Bruyne stopped overthinking the past, clenched his fists tightly, and aggressively encouraged himself in his heart.

Amid the tidal wave of noise and cheers at Old Trafford, the match resud.

Manchester City's tactics visibly changed once again, with both speedy wingers cutting aggressively inside to the center, intentionally lurking behind N'Golo Kante.

Their clear tactical intent was to stretch the defensive space on the flanks for the full-backs to exploit.

At this stage in his career, De Bruyne was at his absolute physical and technical peak—unlike in the future when he would have a slight belly and injury issues.

He gradually took on far more tactical responsibilities, dropping deep to link up Manchester City's midfield and attack, making the overall possession play much more fluid and rapid.

But when Ling and the United forwards pressed with targeted, coordinated intensity, they discovered a highly threatening problem.

Manchester City was absolutely not single-engine driven!

Ilkay Gündogan was completely different from the holding Fernandinho; his ability to control the passing tempo was very strong, and he had a famously slick, dangerous late-run skill into the box.

Before Manchester United could successfully change their pressing target to him, he quickly passed the ball to David Silva.

The latter currently acted purely as a quick switching point.

He wasn't holding the ball or dribbling to actively reduce his physical exertion, also avoiding being aggressively dispossessed by United's midfield trap.

Gündogan imdiately made a forward run into space to receive the return ball again, rapidly advancing toward Manchester United's vulnerable half.

However, Manchester United played with imnse, desperate determination to protect their lead.

"Play more aggressively! Get physical with them, get physical!" Ling barked orders. "Don't slide tackle recklessly in the box! N'Golo, watch the runners behind you!"

Kante used his elite anticipatory positioning to brilliantly intercept Gündogan's attempted through pass.

As soon as he quickly passed the ball to Herrera to clear, Manchester City players rapidly executed a suffocating counter-press.

Instantly, Herrera was surrounded by three sky-blue shirts.

Ander Herrera certainly did not have Paul Pogba's elegant footwork or strength; expecting him to easily escape in a tight, pressed area... might as well hope for Maguire to outrun Sterling.
