Bam...

The girl’s face changed abruptly, and she pressed her palms together, blocking in front of her chest.

Rumble...

Blazing flas blossod in the night sky, gorgeous as fireworks.

The girl let out a muffled groan, crashed heavily to the ground, a massive pit appeared, dust flying skyward.

"Damn Daoist, why must you hunt to extinction?"

From the swirling dust, the girl’s furious voice suddenly rang out, tinged with a trace of fear.

"You’re a demon. You seized soone’s body—that is a sin."

The Daoist descended from the sky; at the sa ti, two other Daoists rushed in from the alley entrance and the alleyway, encircling the giant pit.

The smoke cleared. The girl stumbled out of the pit, blood still fresh at her lips, her arms charred black, wreathed in wisps of smoke. They hung limp, trembling—she couldn’t move them anymore.

"I’ve never hard anyone before, and this body..." the girl gritted her teeth.

"A demon is a demon. To step into the Red Dust in a human’s body and disrupt ethics and order—that alone is a cri."

The leading Daoist bowed his head and spoke softly, cold light flashing in his eyes as he looked at the girl, his face etched only with killing intent.

"We act on Heaven’s behalf."

As he spoke, the three Daoists pressed closer and closer, walking toward the powerless girl.

"Am I really going to die here? It’s so unfair." The girl looked up at the vast sky, her heart filled with unspeakable sadness.

Since the day she beca a demon, she had always kept her abilities and Demon Techniques hidden, barely using them. She just wanted, in this Red Dust, to taste the joys and sorrows of being human.

Unfortunately, even this chance, Heaven would not let her have.

Heaven leaves a path for everyone—if only she wasn’t a demon.

"So this is ’acting on Heaven’s behalf’? Why is it your Daoist Sect never changes its lines after all these years?"

At that mont, a lazy voice echoed in the shadowy night.

The three Daoists abruptly halted, and even the girl couldn’t help but turn and look.

In the hazy darkness, a young man approached from afar, dressed in a black leather jacket, a black headscarf tied atop his head, hands stuffed in his pockets, arrogance gleaming in his brows.

"Who are you?" the leading Daoist asked coldly.

"Daoists from Zhenwu Mountain..."

The young man in the black leather jacket glanced at the three Daoists, the corners of his mouth lifted ever so slightly, but in his bold eyes, a trace of nostalgia flickered.

"Suddenly, I rembered an old friend. Since you belong to the sa Sect as him, just go."

"You really want to ddle in others’ business? That’s not..."

The lead Daoist snorted, but before he finished, his body froze in place.

In his eyes, the young man in the black leather jacket disappeared in an instant; before he could react, that man was already less than ten paces from the three of them.

"You..."

The three Daoists’ faces changed abruptly; reflexively, they leaped backward, opening up space and quickly forming seals with their hands, chanting incantations.

"Heaven and Earth Profound Sect, Root of All Qi."

"Endless cultivation through myriad tribulations, prove my Divine Techniques."

"Across the Three Realms, the Dao reigns supre."

...

Mysterious chants lingered in the air; ribbons of golden light enveloped the three Daoists, dazzlingly radiant, eclipsing the moonlight.

"Golden Light Curse?!" The girl in the distance paled, crying out in shock.

This was a Daoist Divine Curse—once mastered, the golden light cloaked the body as if aided by the gods themselves.

"The Golden Light Curse... Back then, when he first threw punches at , he also used this Curse... Zhenwu Mountain people... all the sa damn style."

The young man in the black leather jacket smiled faintly, slowly raising his right hand, snapping his fingers lightly.

Buzz...

The crisp snap cut through the air; the glorious golden light instantly snuffed out. Worse, the three Daoists watched in horror as their True Yang within spun out of control, vanishing along with that golden light.

"You... you..."

The three Daoists stared dead at the mysterious youth before them, real terror finally surfacing on their faces.

They knew they had run into a true master—his cultivation unfathomable.

"Lucky for you, today I don’t feel like eating humans." The young man in the black leather jacket said coolly.

"Go on."

"Might I ask Your Excellency’s na?" the lead Daoist’s face flickered, but at last he mustered the courage to ask.

"Na? It’s been a long ti since anyone called by my na." A touch of loneliness surfaced on the youth’s face.

Many years ago, soone had called him Ah Yan, but after that, no one uttered that na again.

Who would have thought—the youth in the black leather jacket before them was none other than the infamous King Yan, demon supre.

"Sigh..."

With a single sigh, the lead Daoist’s body went rigid, and he toppled straight to the ground.

The remaining two Daoists exchanged a glance, faces stricken with terror. Not daring to linger, they hoisted their leader and hurried away.

King Yan didn’t spare them a glance, instead walking over to the girl whose eyes were wide with shock, pulling out a piece of paper from his pocket.

"Is this address yours?"

The girl took it, glanced at it, stunned for a mont, then nodded.

"I’m looking for soone. Not long ago, a friend helped locate him through his IP on ’Little Yellow Book’..."

King Yan said blandly, "I looked into it. This place is registered under your na."

"That’s right, but I rented it out a year ago," the girl nodded.

She made her living mainly by collecting rent and streaming online.

"Rented it out? Take to have a look." King Yan said flatly.

"Alright." The girl nodded. She didn’t know who this man was, but since he saved her, even if he wanted the house itself, she’d give it to him—no problem at all.

A mont later, the two arrived at a small courtyard nearby.

"I’ve never t this tenant—the rental was arranged through an agent. Every month, the money arrives on ti." The girl knocked, but there was no response; so she took out the spare key and unlocked the door.
