Now reading: Chapter 438 - 310: Don’t Go Out from Starting Cultivation in Wasteland, a Sci-fi novel by Chen Fengxiao.

Even though it was just after dark and dinner ti hadn’t passed, the Starry Night Bar was already bustling, like a night caught in revelry.

It’s bizarre to witness such a wanton scene right before a major battle, a little out of place.

Qu Jianlei frowned; the Star Thieves looked fierce and aggressive, yet now seed to be overdrawing their joy, proving their enormous pressure.

Regrettably, Youyou wasn’t sitting outside the bar, so he turned and left.

As for going inside to look? Sorry, he wasn’t crazy. Why would he have nothing better to do?

Going to No. 13 Triumph Street? Qu Jianlei originally didn’t want to go there because he felt Youyou provided this address intending to shelter him.

It was relatively far away; he had to reach there quickly by catching the larger flow of people.

During the day, he’d passed by Triumph Street, noting that No. 13 was an unremarkable little yard.

Simultaneously, that segnt was a surveillance blind spot, undoubtedly.

Qu Jianlei arrived at No. 13 at what seed normal speed, blending with the crowd.

A lamp inside the small yard was already lit, casting dim light like a night lamp used for illumination.

He perceived, confirming no one was inside, raised his hand to push the yard door, but it was locked.

He glanced left and right, noticing no one paid attention to him, and quickly vaulted the wall and entered.

The yard had three rooms, the main one was rather large, and the side rooms were small, one presumably the bathroom.

In front of the main house’s doorway, there was a simple shed containing a stove.

Overall, aside from the absence of people, the place brimd with a strong sense of life.

Qu Jianlei raised his hand to push; the main house was locked. However, there was a keypad lock on the door. He thought for a mont, inputting a prearranged code.

Sure enough, there ca an extrely soft, low sound from the lock. He raised his hand to push, and the door opened with the force.

Inside the room were tables, chairs, stools, and all sorts of daily necessities, even so trivial items.

Qu Jianlei didn’t focus on anything else but eyed the handheld device in the bookcase.

He picked it up and turned it on; the power was full, and there was a handwritten frequency number on it.

After tuning to the frequency, Qu Jianlei again input the prearranged password and began calling.

The next mont, Youyou’s voice rang out, "Just finished eating, not too busy. I saw you."

This was a convenient way to talk! Qu Jianlei thought for a mont before stating, "There’s no one here."

"I’m still under observation," Youyou said indifferently, "Usually inconvenient to stay outside, it’s basically empty."

Being captive for a few days, and you could buy a house? Qu Jianlei almost couldn’t help but retort.

But priorities first, "Is there any ergency shelter in this yard?"

Youyou answered straightforwardly, "Yes, it’s below the bookcase. How long do you need to hide?"

"It’s not just hiding, but you have to hide," Qu Jianlei said solemnly, "For the next three nights, co back here to stay."

Youyou remained silent for a while before asking, "You still trust now...?"

Clearly, the Pioneer Team was about to launch an attack, and she had beco a mber of the Star Thief patrol team.

"Why not trust?" Qu Jianlei replied without hesitation, "I never doubt my comrades."

Of course, if comrades betray his trust, he would certainly do sothing to maintain the integrity of the comrade sequence.

Youyou paused, then chuckled lightly, "Alright, I received it, thank you."

Qu Jianlei hesitated but added, "If there are night patrol duties these two days, apply for leave."

Would the attack be intense? Youyou naturally understood such a hint.

However, she eventually smiled wryly, "I’m just temporary personnel; it’s too difficult to request leave at a ti like this..."

"Then take care," Qu Jianlei was not sentintal; everyone was an adult and should bear the consequences of their choices.

But he still offered a suggestion, "If necessary, spend more ti around the prisoner of war camp; it’s relatively safe there."

This wasn’t told by others but his own conjecture—there are mostly mbers of the Pioneer Team!

Today, he could even visit the control center, yet couldn’t approach the prisoner of war camp, which spoke volus.

"Prisoner of war camp..." Youyou muttered softly, then chuckled after a mont, "Are you hinting for to earn rit?"

"You haven’t done anything wrong, what rit?" Qu Jianlei retorted indifferently, "Just suggesting you pay attention to safety."

"Prisoner of war camp... sigh, forget it," Youyou hesitated, "No. 13 is very safe; just stay calm; no one checks."

Qu Jianlei felt sowhat surprised by these words; he initially thought of setting traps tonight and sneaking out before dawn.

If it’s indeed very safe here, he could silently remain in the core area, coordinating directly with the Pioneer Team outside.

But the matter was too significant; he had to figure it out, "Why is this No. 13 so special?"

Youyou answered succinctly, "It’s a property of the Fourth Master, used to reward those who excel."

The property is not big, can be taken or left by the Fourth Master, but rewarding soone, it’s sothing worthwhile.

The ridiculous thing is, during the battle when Qu Jianlei and his group’s spaceship landed, the hoowner died in battle.

Once he died, the property naturally reverted back to the Fourth Master—this was a rit-based house; there was no transfer of property ownership.

However, if he could have lived a bit longer and continued to distinguish himself, ultimately obtaining ownership wouldn’t have been an issue.

After reclaiming the house, the Fourth Master didn’t pay much attention to it; he passed by twice and took his subordinates in to rest for a while.

So the Star Thieves realized that the Fourth Master valued this property so much?

That’s why surveillance had blind spots, if there weren’t any, blind spots had to be created... surveilling the Fourth Master’s residence, isn’t it courting trouble?

Later, the Fourth Master gave the residence to Youyou because there were many inconveniences at the Prisoner of War Camp, like taking a shower was troubleso.

In fact, by this action, he was hinting to others: Youyou is under my protection, take a good look.

The Fourth Master reacted so strongly, other Star Thieves might ostracize Youyou, but none dared to install surveillance caras at Number Thirteen.

—What if one day, they caught the Fourth Master leaving here at dawn, even the Grand Master’s plea might not help.

Youyou didn’t chat long with Qu Jianlei, just briefly explained the situation.

Qu Jianlei thought about it and still braced himself to ask, "The Fourth Master really won’t co?"

"What do you take for?" Youyou was furious at the words, "We’re just in similar situations, sharing the sa plight!"

But for so reason, there was a faint sense of joy in her heart.

"What kind of person you are, what’s it to ?" Qu Jianlei stated honestly, "Just don’t betray the camaraderie in battle."

"I an if the Fourth Master certainly won’t co, I can use this place for a bit."

"Well, use..." Youyou deflated at once, weakly saying, "Just go ahead and use it."

She said so, but Qu Jianlei wouldn’t entrust his personal safety in the hands of others.

Moreover, he indeed had things to do, so that night, he went to many places and made nurous arrangents.

When dawn was breaking, he ought to slip away from the core area, but now, wasn’t there Number Thirteen on Triumph Street?

He stayed at Number Thirteen for an entire day, it was really very safe and undisturbed.

When night fell, under the control of the automatic system, the dim night lights in the yard lit up again.

Almost at the sa mont, the handset on Qu Jianlei rang, and this ti it was Pan Yifu’s handset.

But now he was with Spirit Fox and Fangcao, no longer acting personally, but representing the entire Pioneer Team faction.

Old Pan spoke concisely, with the pure military style, as always, "Are you still in the core area?"

Qu Jianlei wasn’t surprised by this question, if the Pioneer Team couldn’t even observe this, they might as well concede honestly.

"Yes, still here, and I don’t plan on leaving anyti soon, are you initiating a counterattack?"

"The timing hasn’t been decided yet, it’s still under intense discussion," Pan Yifu glanced at Fangcao, his eyes full of grievance.

"But it’s good you’re in the core area, if you can avoid coming out, don’t."

"Got it," Qu Jianlei replied straightforwardly, though feeling a bit gloomy inside: Are they even guarding against ?

"Then keep in contact," Pan Yifu ended the call decisively.

Then he glared at Fangcao, "There, are you satisfied? Black Heaven is sure to realize we’re hiding sothing from him."

"I’ll explain to him later," Fangcao responded matter-of-factly, "Don’t worry, I won’t pin it on you."

She was used to the waves, her expression even a bit disdainful, "We can’t stoop to the disgusting things your military does."

Pan Yifu heard this and his eyes widened, "How is our military disgusting?"

He had always looked down on Pioneer Team, this type of civil organization, just too lazy to argue.

Now being despised by soone he looked down upon, his spirit of indignation erupted.

Fangcao just pouted, "Many would rather join the Pioneer Team than stay in the military, don’t you know why?"

"The Fourth Master of the Star Thieves was once the head of the Space Traveling Battleship Team... that’s the Space Travel."

Pan Yifu fell silent imdiately, actually, he knew better than anyone about the foul things in the military.

Out of indignation, he could argue, but it was pointless to lie with open eyes.

The main thing was, Fangcao, who was chatting with him, wasn’t an ordinary civilian, not easy to fool.

Over an hour later, the handset finally transmitted Baldy’s voice.

"All units are in place, I announce, a strong attack will comnce in half an hour... start syncing watches now."

This ti the strong attack was led by the Black Rain Team, which was related to Black Rain being under siege.

But there was another important point, both A-levels from Black Rain were deployed to fight, which was unprecedented in the Celestial Level Team.

Diamond defected, Crimson was left with only one A-level, no need to say more.

But the Quantum Team, which also had two A-levels, only dispatched one A-level, which was tantamount to surrendering the right to speak.
