Now reading: Chapter 148: The Weakness of the Lightning Armor from Starting From Being Adopted by the Second Hokage!, a Fantasy novel by Drosen.

"Wind Style: Vacuum Wave!"

A stream of high-pressure wind attacked from the side, forcing the burly man to take half a step back.

He squinted and sneered, "More fools coming to die?"

"To die?"

Renya slowly drew his katana, the three-tomoe Sharingan locking onto the burly man.

"I don’t think so."

The Lightning Style chakra armor covering the man’s body made his identity instantly obvious.

The future Second Raikage...

Facing such an opponent, there was no room for carelessness.

"Renya, Danzo, Koharu!"

Hiruzen Sarutobi’s face lit up with joy—he hadn’t expected the three of them to arrive just in ti to turn the tide.

"Koharu, go check on Homura’s injuries," Uchiha Kagami reminded.

Even at a ti like this, Kagami still cared about Homura’s condition—truly a Uchiha who valued his comrades.

Hearing this, Koharu turned to see the figure lying on the ground in the distance. In a flash, she arrived at Homura’s side and quickly began examining his injuries.

"Internal damage—but he can still be saved."

She imdiately activated dical ninjutsu to begin healing.

"You lot really don’t take seriously, huh?"

The burly man stared at them, eyes brimming with killing intent.

Being ignored like this seriously pissed him off.

Especially soone with his explosive temper.

Since when did people on the brink of death have the guts to ignore him?!

With that thought, he struck first. His Lightning Style chakra burst forth, his speed reaching its peak as he threw a punch straight at Renya.

"Renya, look out!"

Hiruzen and Uchiha Kagami were too far to help in ti, so they could only shout in warning.

They had fought this man before and knew all too well the power he wielded.

If Renya failed to dodge, he would be gravely injured!

Homura was already living proof...

The man’s attack was lightning-fast. Renya’s three-tomoe Sharingan spun wildly, barely allowing him to track the trajectory of the attack. At the last possible mont, he twisted to evade.

At the sa ti, he slashed his katana toward the man’s arm.

If he could land even a single wound, the battle would be much easier to finish.

This was his first ti facing a ninja using Lightning Armor—he wasn’t even sure if a normal attack could penetrate that defense.

With anticipation in his eyes, Renya’s blade landed on the man’s wrist.

Clang!

The katana clashed with the Lightning Style armor, producing a spray of sparks!

It didn’t leave a scratch—not even a crack in the armor.

Renya’s pupils shrank sharply, the shock on his face vanishing in a flash.

He had clearly underestimated the defense of the Lightning Armor.

There was a reason it was called the "strongest Lightning Style armor."

It obviously wouldn’t break so easily.

"I told you—it’s useless!"

The man grinned viciously and countered with a sharp elbow strike.

The speed of the attack was overwhelming—Renya had no ti to dodge and could only bring up his sword to block.

His Sharingan saw it, but his body couldn’t keep up.

Renya was blasted back several ters, blood dripping from the corner of his mouth—but his gaze remained ice cold.

With this man’s level of power, a head-on victory was clearly unrealistic.

But he had no intention of giving up—because he wasn’t fighting alone.

At that mont, Shimura Danzo finished his hand seals.

"Wind Style: Vacuum Serial Waves!"

Dozens of high-pressure wind blades sliced in from all directions. The man had no choice but to stop attacking and take the strikes head-on with his Lightning Armor.

Though they couldn’t break through, the wind blades disrupted his movents.

Renya seized the chance to gain distance, suddenly flinging three shuriken while forming a one-handed seal.

"Fire Style: Phoenix Flower Jutsu!"

Flas wrapped around the shuriken and shot toward the man from various angles.

Seeing the shuriken coming his way, the man sneered and swung his arm to bat them away—but he hadn’t expected them to suddenly curve midair, slipping past his guard and aiming straight for his eyes.

"Cheap trick!"

He quickly shut his eyes, and even his eyelids were covered by the Lightning Armor.

But that exact movent was what Renya had been waiting for.

"Kagami!"

Uchiha Kagami, who had been waiting silently for a chance, suddenly sprang into action. His three-tomoe Sharingan glowed with a demonic red light.

It was a genjutsu—a Sharingan illusion.

They had planned all along for Kagami to strike with genjutsu when the mont ca.

The man’s eyes t Kagami’s just as the illusion activated, and his body froze.

Only for a split second—but that was enough.

Clang!

Renya’s blade slashed at the man’s neck—

And once again, blinding sparks exploded.

"Useless."

The man grinned, arcs of lightning dancing across his body.

"My Lightning Armor can even seal up my pores."

"You’re trying to break through it so badly... Let guess..."

He glanced at the katana at his throat.

"You coated your blade with poison, didn’t you?"

Renya’s expression didn’t change at all.

"Did I guess wrong?"

The man looked puzzled, then shrugged.

"Doesn’t matter anyway."

As he spoke, he suddenly struck with a backhanded punch. The air exploded with the force.

Renya barely managed to raise his sword to block, but the impact sent him flying dozens of ters, carving a deep trench into the ground.

In that mont, he finally understood how Ōnoki had felt when facing the Third Raikage in the original story.

Fighting a man whose body was this ridiculously strong was enough to make anyone despair!

His attack stat was maxed out, but the enemy’s HP and defense were simply absurd—his strikes felt like nothing more than a massage.

No wonder Ōnoki had relied on swarm tactics to whittle him down. A straight-up fight was suicide.

Although the man in front of him didn’t have the sa physical stats as the future Third Raikage, he wasn’t far behind...

Hiruzen Sarutobi stepped in front of Renya, coughing up blood as he forced a bitter smile.

"This guy’s offense and defense... are just monstrous."

A fighter with high attack and high defense—an absolute beast.

"Does this Lightning Armor really have a weakness?"

Uchiha Kagami murmured, a look of despair creeping across his face.

If they couldn’t find a way to counter it, they might all die here today.

"It does."

Renya wiped the blood from his mouth and explained:

"His Lightning Armor can’t be maintained indefinitely. There’s a brief mont where it drops completely."

Hearing this, the man’s face showed shock. He couldn’t help but praise,

"You’re really observant, huh?"

His Lightning Armor was still in developnt. As Renya had pointed out, its defense did occasionally flicker and vanish.

That was due to his lack of mastery over the technique...

"But so what if you know?"

The man scoffed, clearly dismissive.

He didn’t believe they could ti it right—or even if they did, that they could actually hurt him.

"Konoha geniuses... ti to die!"

Lightning chakra surged around him, arcs crackling all over his body.

Renya stared intently at the Lightning Armor.

And sure enough—in one fleeting mont, it vanished.
