Now reading: Chapter 22: - 22: Renya Belongs to Me! from Starting From Being Adopted by the Second Hokage!, a Fantasy novel by Drosen.

Afternoon, after school at the Ninja Academy.

This was the happiest mont of the entire day.

Renya packed up his things, ready to head ho for dinner.

At that mont, a group of people appeared and blocked Renya’s path.

It was Sarutobi Hiruzen, Uchiha Kagami, Shimura Danzō, and others who stood before him.

Their stance made it seem like they were here to pick a fight...

Renya frowned slightly at the sight.

[Are these guys planning to beat up?]

Without a change in expression, Renya subtly widened the distance between them.

If they made even the slightest suspicious movent, he’d bolt instantly.

Faced with an ambush from these guys, he really had no way to deal with it.

If he didn’t run, all he could do was take a beating...

But Renya had overthought it. They just wanted to invite him out for dinner, nothing more.

"Renya-kun, want to get so grilled at with us?" Sarutobi Hiruzen asked.

Hearing that, Renya finally realized—

So they weren’t here to cause trouble...

"Renya-kun, I know a place that has really great barbecue!" Uchiha Kagami chid in.

Facing their invitation, Renya shook his head and replied,

"Sorry, I still have to go ho and cook. I don’t have ti to eat out with you guys."

He didn’t even need to think about it. That old bastard Senju Tobirama was definitely waiting at ho for him to cook.

Renya felt helpless about this.

He had completely beco Senju Tobirama’s personal chef.

Hearing this, the others didn’t insist. After saying goodbye to Renya at the school gate, they left together.

...

Senju Tobirama’s residence.

"Did you buy the ingredients?" Renya asked.

Hearing that, Senju Tobirama put down the file in his hands and said,

"You don’t have to cook today. We’re going to my brother’s house to eat."

"Got it."

Renya was happy to have a break. Today’s training had been tiring—having the night off from cooking sounded great.

After showering, he followed Senju Tobirama to Senju Hashirama’s residence.

The two figures, one big and one small, walked side by side through the Senju clan grounds.

"Brat, how did you do at school today?" Senju Tobirama suddenly asked.

"I went fifty-fifty in combat training with Sarutobi Hiruzen," Renya answered honestly.

As the founder of the ninja academy, this old guy definitely knew everything that went on in the school. No way he hadn’t heard about it.

Didn’t the horoom teacher for Class A belong to the Senju clan too?

Renya guessed Tobirama’s question might an one of two things...

The first possibility was that he was just making conversation.

The second possibility was that he was testing whether Renya would try to hide the truth.

If it was the forr, no big deal. If it was the latter... well, that was a little terrifying.

It would an that even after a year of living together, Senju Tobirama still remained on high alert around him...

Senju Tobirama nodded knowingly and didn’t ask anything else.

Renya glanced at him, trying to read sothing from his expression—but got nothing.

Senju Tobirama had always been cautious and rarely showed his inner thoughts.

If Renya could read him that easily, he wouldn’t be Senju Tobirama.

Before long, the two arrived at their destination.

Senju Hashirama’s residence.

"Hashirama-san."

Renya greeted Senju Hashirama, who was in the courtyard.

"Big brother," Tobirama followed with a greeting.

"Haha, little Renya, you’re finally here!"

Senju Hashirama warmly walked up to Renya, completely ignoring Tobirama beside him.

"It’s been so long since I’ve tasted your cooking. Will you make sothing today?"

Tobirama’s face darkened from being completely sidelined.

"Big brother, is that why you invited us over?"

He should have known sothing was up when Hashirama suddenly invited them to dinner—it all made sense now...

"Haha, little Renya’s cooking is just too good. I haven’t had it in a while, and I’ve been seriously craving it," Senju Hashirama said with a hearty laugh.

Renya looked toward Tobirama, his expression clearly saying:

[Didn’t you say I didn’t have to cook today?]

Tobirama turned his head to the side, pretending not to see Renya’s look.

"Little Renya, can you? Please!" Senju Hashirama clasped his hands together in a pleading gesture.

"Big brother, that’s so inappropriate!" Tobirama scolded.

He was the Hokage of Konoha, for heaven’s sake, and he was begging for a al like this—what a disgrace!

Senju Hashirama ignored Tobirama and continued giving Renya his pitiful look.

Renya couldn’t take that look anymore.

"Alright, Hashirama-san."

Hearing that, Senju Hashirama imdiately bead.

"Haha, thank you, little Renya."

There was no helping it—Renya’s cooking was just that good.

After eating it once, Hashirama couldn’t forget the taste.

So every now and then, he’d find an excuse to invite Renya over to cook again.

Renya headed to the kitchen. He’d been here more than once and was completely familiar with the place.

Once he left, Senju Tobirama could no longer hold it in.

"Big brother, you... how could you do this!"

He truly didn’t expect his brother to shalessly go this far for a al.

"Tobirama, that’s not fair," Hashirama said with a sorrowful expression. "Mito and I don’t get to eat Renya’s cooking every day like you do."

Tobirama’s lips curled up in a slight smirk. Arms crossed, he looked smug.

Even though Renya was a Uchiha brat, his culinary skills were absolutely impeccable.

One of the main reasons Tobirama tolerated living with Renya was because he had been utterly conquered by his cooking.

"Tobirama, how about this—let little Renya stay at my place for a few days?" Hashirama asked expectantly.

"No way, big brother!" Tobirama rejected him without hesitation.

"Tobirama, how could you..."

Hashirama looked deeply hurt.

But Tobirama knew his brother too well to fall for that act. Coldly, he said,

"Big brother, give it up. Uchiha Renya is mine!"

The mont he said that, Tobirama froze.

What... what did I just say?!

It was hard to believe such a ridiculous statent ca out of Senju Tobirama’s own mouth.

"Big brother, don’t get the wrong idea..."

He hurried to explain, but his mind went completely blank. Stamring for a long while, he still couldn’t make any sense.

All he could hear echoing in his mind was: [Renya is mine...]

Hashirama looked at Tobirama’s flustered face and gave him a knowing smile.

"Tobirama, there’s no need to explain. I understand..."

Just as he had expected—Tobirama and little Renya had already ford a bond.

At this rate, in just a few more years, Renya might even change Tobirama’s views on the Uchiha.

"Big brother, you don’t understand! And... wipe that disgusting look off your face!" Tobirama barked, blushing furiously.

Was he blushing from embarrassnt, or anger?

"Haha, I understand, I understand..."

"Shut up, you don’t understand a damn thing!"

"Tobirama, you’re being an to again..."

"..."

...

Kitchen.

"Little Renya, you’re finally here," Uzumaki Mito said with a gentle smile, pointing to the table, "I’ve already washed the vegetables."

"Thank you, Mito-san."

With that, Renya began to cook.

Uzumaki Mito helped out on the side, attentively observing and learning Renya’s stir-frying techniques.

Since Renya often ca here to cook, she’d picked up a lot from him, and her culinary skills had improved significantly.
