Sunlight filtered through the thin morning mist and spilled over the training ground.
Renya’s small figure was kneeling on the ground. His palms were scorched black, covered in marks left behind by repeated failed attempts at Fire Style techniques.
He was gasping for breath, his chakra completely depleted.
Staring at the ruined training ground before him, Renya was filled with frustration.
"This is too hard... I just can’t learn it..."
At that mont, the cold and imposing figure of Senju Tobirama appeared at the edge of the training ground.
He stood silently, watching Renya, his gaze deep and unreadable.
"Thinking of giving up just because you’ve hit a rough patch?" Tobirama’s voice was cold, yet carried an undeniable authority. "Did you really think getting stronger would be easy?"
Renya looked up at Tobirama, his eyes flickering with complicated emotions.
"I never said I was giving up..."
Tobirama walked over slowly and ca to a halt in front of him.
"Ninjutsu is just like your heart. If it’s filled with fear of failure and thoughts of giving up, it won’t obey you."
He bent down slightly and looked at Renya’s scorched palms.
"You’re not incapable of learning. You’re just not determined enough. You’re not focused."
Renya gritted his teeth. "I’ll work harder."
"Hard work doesn’t an blindly repeating the sa thing. It ans learning from failure and adjusting constantly." Tobirama straightened up, his gaze drifting toward the distance.
"Training in ninjutsu is like climbing a high mountain. Every step is filled with hardship. But as long as you don’t give up, you will eventually reach the summit."
Renya took a deep breath and slowly stood up, his heart burning with renewed resolve.
"I understand now."
Just as he was about to try gathering chakra again, Tobirama’s voice ca from behind him.
"It’s about ti. You should head to school."
Renya froze for a mont. Only then did he rember—he still had to go to school.
At once, it felt like the sky was crashing down on him.
He had spent hours training, and now he still had to go suffer through school. Who could handle that?!
He glanced down at his charred hands, then at the training ground scarred with his efforts. His heart was filled with reluctance.
He had just found the rhythm again, and was about to push forward—only to be forced to stop.
Tobirama seed to see through his thoughts. He frowned slightly and said,
"Studying at school is just as important. Knowledge and combat ability are both essential."
"Don’t think that training in ninjutsu is everything it takes to beco an excellent ninja."
Renya quickly responded, "I understand. I’ll study hard!"
As he spoke, he stretched his stiff limbs and headed toward the kitchen.
He needed to prepare breakfast—and lunch for later.
After exhausting all his chakra, hunger hit him hard. He needed to replenish his energy with food to restore his chakra.
After eating breakfast, Renya reluctantly went off to school.

The morning lessons were cultural classes, which included but were not limited to:

As for the cultural classes, Renya did not study hard as he had promised earlier. Instead, he laid his head on the desk and was fast asleep.
The teacher on the podium was passionately lecturing about the theories of ninjutsu, but the words sounded like a distant, unintelligible hum to Renya—they couldn’t get through to him at all.
His breathing gradually beca even. His body relaxed completely as he slipped into a deep sleep.
The whispers of classmates around him, the occasional sound of turning pages—none of it could wake him.
Training so early in the morning had completely worn him out. He needed to sleep.
Nara Motoha yawned in boredom. Noticing Renya fast asleep, he laid his own head on the desk as well.
It wasn’t until the dismissal bell rang that Renya slowly woke up.
He looked around in a daze. Seeing that only he and Motoha were left in the classroom, both with their heads still down, he finally realized—school was over.
A full day of sleep had restored his energy.
Renya stood up and stretched, then nudged Motoha awake. The two of them left the school together.
"Renya-kun, thank goodness you woke . I would’ve overslept again." Motoha patted his chest in relief.
Last ti his parents found out he was late because he fell asleep at school... they beat the hell out of him.
"No big deal," Renya said casually with a wave of his hand.
Motoha’s personality suited him, so the two got along quite well.
At that mont, the two of them heard familiar voices coming from a nearby alley.
"You sure act tough, huh?"
"Finally got you cornered!"
Renya’s expression beca strange.
"Those two actually cornered soone?"
He recognized the voices of Uchiha Rin and Uchiha Gen.
"Renya-kun, who do you think they’re ganging up on?" Motoha asked, curious.
Both of them were among the stronger students in the class—upper-middle tier.
Who would have provoked the two of them?
"Probably Hyūga Muki," Renya said, uncertain.
He had overheard the two plotting to ambush the ’King of Cool’ in the alley and give him a good beating...
"Hyūga Muki?" Motoha’s eyes glead.
"Now this I’ve got to see."
The two exchanged looks and instantly understood what the other was thinking.
They lowered their steps and crept quietly to the corner.
There they saw Uchiha Rin and Uchiha Gen surrounding Hyūga Muki.
Faced with the two of them, Muki showed no fear at all.
He struck first, thrusting his palm forward. An invisible chakra shockwave struck Gen square in the chest.
The latter was sent flying, crashing into wine jars at the end of the alley and losing consciousness.
He was knocked out with just one move.
Of course, that was also because Uchiha Gen had been unprepared and took the hit full force.
Their combat experience was lacking. They hadn’t anticipated that Muki would suddenly attack.
"You bastard! A sneak attack?!" Uchiha Rin roared in fury and launched himself at Muki.
Muki’s expression didn’t change. He tapped lightly off the ground and nimbly dodged to the side. His fingers curved into a palm, and a Gentle Fist strike shot out in an instant.
Rin reacted quickly, twisting his body to avoid the blow and countering with a punch aid straight at Muki’s face.
Muki’s pupils shrank, the Byakugan’s veins bulging visibly. Blue chakra gathered in his palm, and his attacks grew faster and faster.
Under that barrage, Uchiha Rin steadily lost ground. Finally, a single Gentle Fist strike hit his sleep point, and he collapsed to the ground.
As he passed out, only one thought echoed in Rin’s mind:
[How is this guy so strong?!]
Renya and Motoha stared, wide-eyed in disbelief. They had never imagined Hyūga Muki could finish the fight so cleanly.
At that mont, Hyūga Muki slowly turned around and looked toward the mouth of the alley.
"How long are you two planning to keep watching?"
