Land of Earth, Iwagakure.
Under the cover of a rchant caravan, Renya and Scar smoothly entered Iwagakure without arousing suspicion from the guards at the gate.
It was nothing unusual for a caravan to have a few shinobi escorts. After registering with false nas and identities, they were let through without issue.
"What are we sneaking into Iwagakure for, ow?"
Scar blinked his wide eyes, face full of confusion and curiosity.
He couldn’t understand why, when Iwagakure had already tightened its defenses, this kid would still risk entering the village.
If they were discovered, leaving would be next to impossible.
As one of the Five Great Shinobi Nations, Iwagakure’s military strength was beyond question. Overwhelming them with numbers would be effortless. Though Renya was strong, he was far from being able to fight an entire shinobi village on his own.
Throughout the long history of the ninja world, only Uchiha Madara and Senju Hashirama had reached that level.
The power they wielded had long since transcended the realm attainable by ordinary shinobi. The blue giant standing several dozen ters tall and the equally massive wooden construct—when those two clashed, the surrounding landscape within several miles was reduced to ruins in an instant.
Only that kind of strength could dominate the ninja world. Renya obviously didn’t possess such terrifying power.
In Scar’s eyes, Renya represented the peak of what could be called "normal" in the ninja world—capable of handling most situations, but nowhere near the level of Madara-sama.
And just as Scar thought, Renya had a clear understanding of his own limits. He wouldn’t do sothing as foolish as throwing his life away.
Of course, he knew he wasn’t a match for the entirety of Iwagakure. If his identity was exposed, he would be in grave danger.
But that didn’t stop him from proceeding with his plan to infiltrate the village.
After all—he’d learned the Flying Thunder God Technique.
Even if he were discovered, he could grab Scar and teleport away in an instant...
On the way here, Renya had left countless Flying Thunder God marks. Although he couldn’t teleport over extrely long distances like Senju Tobirama, jumping a few dozen kiloters was no problem.
By the ti Iwagakure realized sothing was wrong, he would already have vanished using the Flying Thunder God Technique.
So, all things considered, this infiltration was actually quite safe.
When Scar’s question reached him, Renya’s expression gradually darkened. He exhaled slowly and uttered two words.
"Revenge."
"Revenge?"
Scar’s confusion only deepened.
Iwagakure was tens of thousands of miles away from Konoha—how could it have possibly offended Renya?
Besides, in the current war, Iwagakure’s opponent was Kirigakure. There was no reason for Renya to have any grudge against them.
A few months back, Renya had encountered Ōnoki—the short old man who served as Third Tsuchikage. Perhaps due to Uchiha Madara’s lingering influence, the mont Ōnoki learned Renya was an Uchiha, he’d shown open hostility.
At the ti, since it was on the man’s ho turf, Renya had no choice but to swallow his anger.
But things were different now.
He had grown stronger—and he’d mastered the Flying Thunder God Technique.
Using this trip as cover, he planned to pay Ōnoki back. Renya would make that short old man understand the price of offending him.
He’d always been the kind of person who repaid every slight. He’d just been waiting for the right mont.
Now that the opportunity had finally co, he would strike without hesitation.
"Who are you going to take revenge on, ow?" Scar asked curiously.
"Third Tsuchikage—Ōnoki."
Renya’s hand unconsciously clenched into a fist.
"I’ve been waiting for this day for years."
A huge question mark popped up on Scar’s forehead. He stared at Renya in stunned disbelief.
"Kid, are you insane?!"
...
To take revenge on the Tsuchikage right in Iwagakure—who gave him that kind of courage?!
If they got caught, the furious Iwa-nin would tear them to shreds!
"I’m not insane."
Renya looked up toward the tallest building in the village—the Tsuchikage Tower.
"I’m perfectly calm."
"Kid, let’s just go back!" Scar was nearly in tears. He was terrified Renya would charge in recklessly and get them both killed.
The Third Tsuchikage, like the Second before him, could use a terrifying Kekkei Tōta—Dust Release.
If they were hit by that, not even ashes would remain.
Desperate to avoid that fate, Scar tried to reason with him, realizing Renya had already been blinded by rage.
"Kid, calm down!" Scar pleaded, even invoking the na of Uchiha Madara. "We can tell Madara-sama—let him take revenge for you! There’s no need to risk your life!"
"What are you so worried about?" Renya frowned at the fat cat. "Did you forget I can use the Flying Thunder God Technique to escape?"
With such a supre escape jutsu, no one in the ninja world could catch him.
If he wanted to run, there was always a path.
Scar: "..."
It had been so shocked by Renya’s plan that it montarily forgot the boy could teleport.
Scar hadn’t known Renya had mastered the Second Hokage’s Flying Thunder God Technique until witnessing his fight against Hanzō of the Salamander.
Even Madara and Hashirama didn’t know that. Scar had actually been planning to report it to Madara-sama later—but in all this chaos, it had slipped its mind.
"If that’s the case, then just be careful," Scar finally sighed, realizing the boy wouldn’t act unless he had confidence.
After all, Scar was a summoned beast. If things went bad, it could always cancel the summoning.
"I’ll head back first, ow. Call again once you’re done."
Finding a secluded corner, the fat cat canceled the summoning contract and disappeared.
Even though it knew Renya likely wouldn’t face real danger, it still planned to inform Madara-sama about this.
After all, Scar had been assigned to watch Renya’s every move precisely so it could report to Madara.
And now, sothing like this was happening—of course it had to be reported.
...
"What did you just say? Renya’s going to take revenge on the Third Tsuchikage?!"
Inside a mountain cave, Senju Hashirama’s voice suddenly rose several pitches after hearing Scar’s report.
He couldn’t believe Renya had the guts to go after the Tsuchikage in his own village.
That was basically suicide!
Reckless—utterly reckless.
"This kid’s got guts," Uchiha Madara said, the corners of his mouth curving slightly.
Renya truly was the junior he approved of—his words and actions mirrored his own.
If it were him, he’d attack Iwagakure too.
After all, with the Flying Thunder God Technique, even if he couldn’t win, he could retreat safely.
"Madara, we need to go save Renya!" Hashirama urged. "If we’re too late, he’s done for!"
"I believe that kid won’t act without a plan," Madara replied calmly.
He didn’t think Ōnoki would be a match for Renya, Dust Release or not.
Madara had always trusted his instincts about people.
And besides—if Renya wasn’t confident, he would never have acted.
