Vegeta was currently full of energy and reacted extrely fast. Yajirobe probably wouldn't have been able to cut off his tail, so Aaron had to do it himself.

"Chiaotzu, Yamcha, Tien, Piccolo were all killed by them. Even Kami is dead. How can you let him go?"
"He has no human emotions. If we let him go, he'll recover and co back to kill us!"

Hearing Aaron say he would let him go, Vegeta breathed a sigh of relief.
Vegeta thought: 'No, I need to get into my spaceship for treatnt quickly, or I'll definitely die. But my body won't move…'
