The low-level mutant statues of the second ring all began to move, standing and turning, with red light flashing in their eyes.
They resembled a horde of frenzied devotees whose deities had been desecrated, letting out roars that didn’t sound like normal beasts, and charged towards Xu Xin and the others!
Their bodies were incredibly heavy, causing the entire ground to tremble violently as they moved, making everyone feel as though an earthquake was happening beneath their feet!
Yet, their movents were astonishingly agile!
If they hadn’t seen it with their own eyes, everyone would have found it unimaginable that a bunch of statues could move with the agility of ordinary beasts, or even more agile!
The nearest group of low-level mutant statues was less than twenty ters away, a very short distance.
So, even before they could recover from their shock, the statues had already maneuvered their massive bodies, rushing to the edge of the giant pit!
At the sa ti, other, more distant low-level mutant statues also gathered towards them like a tidal wave.
Fortunately, the giant pit was five ters high, and the mutant statues that reached the edge couldn’t directly reach the five of them.
"What should we do, should we attack? Use explosive bolts?" Li Wenxi held the crossbow, already aiming at the mutant statues below, "They’re about to climb up!"

The halberd’s tallic blade, under the purple-black light of the giant pillar, even emitted a sinister aura.
Mimi Silver King and Afu also followed Xu Xin to the edge of the pit.
Keke, knowing its combat ability was lacking, jumped from Xu Xin’s shoulder to Li Wenxi’s.

Xu Xin was sowhat glad that he hadn’t chosen a hearing enhancent today, otherwise his head might not have been able to withstand it.
"Don’t get too far away!" Seeing the girls tending to separate again, Ji Chaoyang shouted amid the thunder and roars, "Stay within five ters of Xu Xin! Otherwise, the statues below will scatter, changing their climbing positions!"
anwhile, the first batch of climbing mutant statues had already scaled the walls!

Xu Xin swung his halberd directly at them!

The halberd cleanly decapitated a large mutant wildcat.
But to his shock, both the statue previously slashed by Mimi and this headless one still continued to control their headless bodies, rising to attack him!
These statues, even without heads, could still move!
Of course, without heads, the statues seed unable to maintain their balance very well, and their movents beca sowhat disordered.
Yet they could still locate Xu Xin, as if their vision was unaffected.
Xu Xin imdiately slashed again, and the charging statue was cut in half!
A faint life force flowed into his body through the halberd’s shaft.
The life force of these statues was exceedingly weak!
Clearly, what allowed them to move wasn’t this strange life force!
Perhaps soone was truly controlling them from behind!
The statue cut in half still struggled on the ground.
Though not turned into stone powder, they no longer posed any threat.
Xu Xin no longer paid attention to the broken remains on the ground, continually swinging his halberd to cut the mutant statues climbing from the pit in half one by one, incapacitating them instantly!
