At dawn, Lin Mo woke up to the sound of a gentle knock on the door.

To be honest, he hadn’t slept very well. Compared to his previous life, even though he had bedding, the inn’s bedboard felt as hard as steel. The quilt wasn’t soft either, and most importantly, since he was unfamiliar with this place, Lin Mo didn’t dare to sleep too deeply, always maintaining a certain level of alertness.

So even a slight noise outside the door was enough to wake him.

After putting on his coat, he pushed the door open. Standing there was still the girl who had visited last night.

They exchanged a glance, but her eyes imdiately looked away, and she handed Lin Mo a tray. “Your breakfast. Please enjoy.”

“Thanks.”

Lin Mo curiously examined the girl’s slightly flushed face, then took the tray from her and placed it on the table.

“There’s no strict ti limit for using the room. You can stay a bit longer, but soone will co to clean in the afternoon. Before then, please check your belongings carefully to avoid leaving anything behind.”

After saying this, the girl bowed slightly and hurriedly turned to leave.

Lin Mo’s gaze instinctively swept over her graceful figure, then he rubbed his forehead—he really was feeling a bit repressed.

The breakfast wasn’t as rich as dinner but was still decent: a bowl of oatal porridge, a fried egg, so sausage slices, and a few pieces of white bread.

While eating, Lin Mo pulled out the scroll that still carried his body heat.

He had only heard others boast about skill scrolls before, but this was the first ti he had seen one and wasn’t quite sure how to use it.

Yesterday in the forest, he hadn’t had ti to study it carefully. After returning, he was too exhausted. Now, he finally had ti to examine it properly.

His eyes skimd over the cautionary words at the top and continued downward.

The more he looked, the more his head ached...

The scroll contained no obscure words; he could understand every character. But when combined, it beca an unintelligible mystical script.

Gritting his teeth, he finished reading the entire scroll, briefly feeling as if he had returned to a high school math class.

After all, he had never studied at a mage academy and had no foundation—he didn’t even have magic power. Trying to learn the magic on this scroll all at once was simply unrealistic.

After staring at the scroll for a while longer, Lin Mo sighed helplessly and carefully put it away, postponing the matter for now.

After finishing breakfast and gathering all his belongings, Lin Mo left the inn.

On the way down, he saw the waitress girl again. Since it was morning, she had finished delivering breakfast and was chatting with a few colleagues, laughing heartily about so topic.

The landlady was still dressed as before, sitting behind the counter with her head down, always busy with sothing.

Lin Mo paused for a mont, waved toward them as a farewell gesture.

“Um... welco to co again next ti.”

The girl noticed his wave, pursed her lips, and gave a shy smile.

Next ti?

Now that he knew this was not just a simple inn, “next ti” carried a different aning.

Lin Mo shook his head and decided not to think too much about it.

The weather today was perfect. Stepping out of the inn, the dazzling sunlight made him squint.

The small town in the early morning had a different charm from the evening—looking much livelier.

The not-so-clean streets were full of passersby. It was around seven in the morning, still early for Lin Mo, but for the locals, it was already work ti.

That said, many wandering around now actually had no jobs. They couldn’t just starve at ho, so they ca out hoping to get lucky and find so wealthy masters willing to hire a hand.

Occasionally, a few young people dressed in fine clothes appeared, exuding an air of nobility completely out of place among the poor. They held their heads high, like rulers inspecting their territories. So carried birdcages; others held leashes. On the other end of the leashes could be a fluffy golden retriever’s head or the slender neck of a ragged girl.

Lin Mo walked while observing the customs of this world.

So far, this world wasn’t much different from the fantasy worlds he rembered. Of course, his knowledge was limited to this small town’s surface.

More unknowns and details awaited his exploration.

And all of this would begin with becoming an adventurer.

Without asking for directions, several veterans clad in various armor and carrying weapons led the way. Lin Mo followed them and soon arrived before a building that stood majestically compared to the surrounding small bungalows.

It was six stories tall, with a finely decorated facade painted in various colors, all of which showed off the place’s wealth and grandeur.

A sign hung above the entrance with several large, clear characters: Adventurers' Association.

In the lower right corner of the sign was a much smaller label: Roland Town Branch of the Doria Kingdom.

The Adventurers' Guild was a massive organization spread almost across the entire continent. Every nation, including the Church State, had its own association.

Wherever an association existed, it attracted a flood of adventurers, turning the place into a relatively bustling town.

Normally, a small place like Roland Town wouldn’t have its own branch, but being close to Roland Forest made it a special case. For both the association and adventurers, being stationed in this town ant great convenience.

Therefore, the branch here was naturally the most modest in scale.

Even so, it was already a very eye-catching landmark in this poor and backward town.

All this information had been gathered previously from Larry.

Lin Mo paused at the association’s entrance, watching adventurers co and go. As he stepped inside, a subtle feeling stirred in his heart.

From now on, he was truly embracing a new life.

Inside, he saw a very spacious hall, several tis larger than the inn from last night. Many tables and chairs were arranged throughout. Adventurers of various appearances sat together, eating breakfast and bragging to each other.

Lin Mo scanned the hall and noticed many unique figures.

For example, a particularly muscular warrior holding an axe, with a rough face, a large nose, and a pair of sharp horns like a bull’s on his head. He seed to even have a tail.

He also saw a middle-aged man about 1.3 ters tall, with a long, thick beard and a large hamr in hand. His broad figure looked almost square from a distance.

Half-orcs, dwarves... these intelligent non-human beings were indeed indispensable in fantasy worlds. However, there seed to be no elves in sight.

From the atmosphere among them, the various races seed to get along fairly well, with no obvious conflicts.

Lin Mo’s gaze continued toward the center of the hall.

There were five counters in the middle, each staffed by a young woman. They were the guild’s front desk clerks, mainly responsible for helping adventurers register and submit quests.

Of course, this also included processing adventurer identity applications...
