Lin Mo didn't sleep well the entire night.

The spell scroll that had once given him countless expectations now felt like a hot potato, making him restless and uneasy.

But if he were to simply discard it, he really couldn't bear to part with it.

After all, if he missed this opportunity, he didn't know when he would be able to obtain such a precious spell scroll again.

People always have a sense of wishful thinking - when he encountered that person last night, he was also carrying the scroll, and the other party didn't have any reaction, right?

He spent the whole night half-asleep and half-awake thinking about this matter, so when he woke up the next day, he looked completely listless.

In comparison, the team mbers who had rested for several days appeared confident and determined.

Both Bern and Evan had arm guards equipped on their wrists, and Miriam was also wearing a fairly good quality leather armor. During these past few days, they hadn't been playing around entirely - after discussion, they used the money earned from their last mission to exchange for equipnt.

Compared to before, they now looked more like a professional adventurer team.

As for the team's new mber... that assassin nad Cody stood cold and stern to the side, just like when they t a couple days ago.

Perhaps due to professional habits requiring silence, most assassins had this kind of personality and didn't like to talk.

When Lin Mo pushed the door open and walked out, Cody glanced at him and slightly frowned.

Although he was a newcor, as a mber of the team, he naturally knew the objectives of their two missions this ti, and also knew about their cooperation with Lin Mo and the 70-30 reward split.

This made it sowhat difficult for him to understand. He had been part of many adventurer teams, from professionals to newcors, and had seen all kinds of adventurers, believing he had so ability to judge people.

In his view, this Lin Mo was simply a newcor who hadn't been in the business for long. He really couldn't understand why the team leader valued him so much, even giving up thirty percent of the profits.

But since he was after all the new mber of the team, according to the rules of the adventurer industry, such matters should be decided by the team leader, so he couldn't say much. However, he still held considerable doubts and prejudice toward Lin Mo as a so-called partner.

Especially Lin Mo's current drowsy state further deepened Cody's dissatisfaction.

"Brother Lin Mo, you didn't go to Flower Street yesterday, did you?"

Evan was also startled when he saw the dark circles under Lin Mo's eyes: "We have a mission to go on today."

"Just didn't sleep well..."

Lin Mo curled his lip and glanced at Miriam behind him: "Speaking of which, how do you know about Flower Street? Did you sneak there before?"

"Of course..."

Evan's lips curled up slightly as he prepared to recount his past glorious achievents, but suddenly sensing the icy gaze behind him, he shuddered: "Of course not... I heard it from Uncle Bern! He used to go often..."

"You're really quite filial."

Bern unceremoniously slapped the back of his head, and Miriam still looked at him with skepticism, leaving Evan flustered as he kept explaining.

You little rascal, can't I handle you?

Lin Mo watched the drama with amusent, his originally heavy mood relaxing considerably.

Going on an adventure would be good, to change his mood and conveniently avoid trouble too.

If possible, it would be best to avoid any further interaction with that mage from the Saint Antonian Magic Academy, preferably not even eting face to face again!

"Everyone check your supplies. This ti we'll need to stay out for at least three to four days, so make sure nothing goes wrong."

Bern reminded them.

Hearing this, Lin Mo rembered that he hadn't prepared any supplies.

He had planned to purchase them last night, but because of that incident, he had forgotten.

"I need to make a trip to Harvest Street. It shouldn't take too much ti."

Bern nodded. He knew Lin Mo had just completed a mission yesterday, so it was normal that he didn't have ti to prepare.

"Hmph."

Cody on the side couldn't help but snort coldly, growing increasingly displeased with this inexplicable "connection beneficiary."

Yes, although he didn't know why they didn't just let him join the team, in Cody's view, the only reason his relatively experienced team leader valued this guy so much must be this.

This guy was most likely just a connection beneficiary without much skill.

The items he needed to purchase weren't much different from last ti he went out, but Lin Mo rembered the poor sleep quality from previous nights and specifically bought a portable sleeping bag.

This type of sleeping bag was specially designed for adventurers - slightly less comfortable, but allowing quick rising when encountering danger, greatly improving safety.

On the way to Roland Forest, Lin Mo took out that book "Complete Illustrated Guide to Monsters in the Peripheral Areas of Roland Forest" and reviewed the knowledge about cat demons again.

Cat demons were monsters that lived deeper in the forest, their habitats roughly located at the junction between the periphery and depths of Roland Forest, distributed on both sides.

Different from bottom-tier monsters like goblins and slis, cat demons occupied a higher ecological niche than these two most commonly seen monsters, and were stronger than them, hence the generous mission rewards.

The monster guide provided detailed information about cat demons, including their preferred hiding spots, common attack thods, and most importantly, their weaknesses...

He only spent 30 copper coins to buy this set of books back then - what a steal!

Cody, walking at the rear of the team, looked disdainfully at the book in Lin Mo's hand. These basic knowledge points were sothing experienced adventurers had morized by heart.

This further confird his thinking - this Lin Mo was just a newcor without much experience.

The journey went relatively smoothly, only encountering two groups of goblins. These damned creatures acted arrogantly in front of civilians, but seed completely vulnerable when facing a full adventurer team.

Lin Mo didn't even have much ti to make a move before these goblins were resolved.

What puzzled him was that after killing two goblins, that assassin nad Cody didn't go to cut off the goblins' ears, but instead looked toward him with a sowhat "tsundere" expression, his chin raised high, leaving Lin Mo baffled.

In his view, this guy's skills seed inferior to those two Bloodsea Gang assassins he had killed before.

Was killing two goblins sothing to be so proud of?

However, contrary to his thoughts, Lin Mo's "bewildered" expression appeared to Cody as being stunned by his performance.

For a rookie like him, even a one-on-one fight with a goblin would probably turn into a difficult struggle, getting entangled for quite a while, right?

Seeing him easily kill two goblins in succession, it was only natural to be shocked.

Lin Mo's mouth twitched, and for the sake of team harmony, he temporarily resisted the urge to go up and slap him.

"Let's rest here for a while."

Bern walking ahead suddenly stopped. He held a map in his hand, carefully comparing it: "Further ahead is the cat demons' habitat. Everyone recover your stamina before we continue forward."

Traveling through the forest was absolutely not an easy task. Even without encountering many monsters, the forest terrain itself was complex enough, full of bushes and waist-high long grass, plus maintaining constant vigilance against surrounding dangers - after half a day, everyone felt sowhat tired.

Entering dangerous areas or even engaging monsters in this state was not a mistake mature adventurers should make.
