Everything happened too fast.
In just one second, Lin Mo demonstrated formidable strength, terrifying speed, and incredibly precise judgnt and combat awareness, easily handling the siege from two Cat Demons while eliminating one of them.
Cody had just recovered from the shock of witnessing Lin Mo effortlessly assassinate one Cat Demon when he turned to see this even more astonishing scene.
He swore that since he could rember, his eyes had never been opened this wide.
The young man he had looked down upon now moved like an elegant noble dancing gracefully across the battlefield.
Was this fucking supposed to be a newcor?!
Cody began questioning his entire existence, so much so that even after his teammates sward in to eliminate the remaining two Cat Demons, he still hadn't snapped out of his daze.
"Whew~ These creatures are definitely much tougher to handle than Goblins."
After the battle ended, Evan plopped down on the ground, letting out a long exhale.
Although he hadn't done much during the fight, he still felt completely drained.
"Indeed."
Lin Mo also nodded, deeply moved by the experience.
Although he had read in books that Cat Demons were individually much stronger than Goblins, without actual combat experience, it was difficult to have a clear understanding.
His series of moves might have looked cool and seemingly effortless, but that wasn't actually the case...
Those two Cat Demons had genuinely put significant pressure on him. These magical creatures had similar size to Goblins, but both their speed and strength far surpassed the latter. If he had been facing two Goblins instead, he probably wouldn't even have bothered drawing his Wolf Bone Sword.
Miriam collected all the claws from the four Cat Demons and stored them in her pack.
She was the only one in the team with the lightest equipnt, and she didn't need to engage in close combat during fights, so it made the most sense for her to carry the loot.
"Still 26 left... feels really difficult..."
Ewan recalled the previous battle. Even with Lin Mo single-handedly taking down two, their fight hadn't been exactly easy, completely different from their previous experiences dealing with Goblins and Slis.
"Thanks to Brother Lin Mo, otherwise it would have been even tougher."
Bern looked at Lin Mo, not hiding the shock and admiration in his eyes at all.
His strength had clearly improved significantly compared to just a few days ago!
Bern had a growing feeling that if before, when he sparred with Lin Mo, he could still maintain an advantage in raw strength, mainly because Lin Mo was just a bit faster and couldn't really overco him, then now, he might not even be able to match him head-on.
How exactly did he manage this... Could it be that his skills happened to reach so critical threshold in just these few short days?
Cody slowly walked over, opening his mouth several tis before finally squeezing out two words: "Impressive."
The world of adventurers worked like this - strength determined everything. Cody had looked down on Lin Mo earlier because of misjudging his capabilities, but after Lin Mo demonstrated his true level, he imdiately adjusted his attitude and viewed him differently.
Lin Mo smiled slightly, effectively putting their previous minor unpleasantness behind them.
They didn't have much leisure ti to rest. Afternoon was the golden ti for hunting Cat Demons, and no matter how tough or exhausting it got, they couldn't afford to miss this period, otherwise it would only beco more difficult.
They continued until near evening, when the horizon was bathed in crimson glow, and after Miriam finished collecting another set of Cat Demon claws, Bern glanced at the sky and said: "Let's stop here for today. Find a place to set up camp and rest, we'll continue tomorrow."
Evening and night ti belonged to the Cat Demons' domain.
These creatures, like felines, possessed powerful night vision capabilities. Fighting them during nightti was simply asking for trouble.
Miriam counted the number of claws: "We took down 14 Cat Demons today."
"That's much faster than expected..."
Bern nodded, "At this rate, if we have decent luck, we might complete the mission tomorrow."
Back when he was with his adventurer team in Lania City, he had undertaken the sa mission, and that ti it took them a full three days to complete.
Keep in mind, that was a six-person team - one knight, two warriors, two rangers, and one assassin, with three of them being veteran adventurers. It was quite a professional team.
That they could eliminate 14 Cat Demons in a single day, even faster than that previous experience, aside from decent luck, had much to do with their actual strength.
Every ti they encountered Cat Demons, both Lin Mo and Cody, as assassins, could imdiately take out one or two, making the battles instantly much simpler.
Ending fights in the shortest ti possible gave them more ti to search for targets, and the easier the combat process, the less recovery ti they needed.
...
After finding a suitable location, Bern and Cody worked together to set up traps around the periter while the others took responsibility for pitching the tents.
Lin Mo took out so white bread from his pack, placed a small piece of dry cheese between slices, and slowly toasted it over the fire.
His right hand resting on his leg trembled slightly, an indescribable soreness and swelling that refused to fade away.
His strength had indeed improved rapidly, just as Bern had sensed, reaching the level of a 0.8-grade professional.
With both speed and power, it seed perfect, but in reality, Lin Mo had a significant weakness - his constitution of only 4 points.
As soone originally from peaceful Blue Star, his physique had always been relatively weak, and his rapidly improving strength only magnified this deficiency.
Because his current constitution simply couldn't support him fully utilizing his strength and speed. Once he fought at full capacity, it placed trendous strain on his body.
After a day of fighting, while the results were undoubtedly impressive, Lin Mo's own body felt like it was about to fall apart, sore and swollen all over.
He needed to find a way to overco this weakness as soon as possible...
Knight class skills should be able to increase constitution. Their team actually had a knight - Bern had demonstrated the skill called "Shield Bash" more than once.
But this skill didn't suit Lin Mo.
Shield Bash, as the na suggested, required wielding a shield. Not only did Lin Mo not have a shield, he also didn't particularly enjoy fighting with one, as it completely contradicted his current style.
Besides, learning a skill probably wasn't that simple, and it was hard to say whether Bern would be willing to share his signature techniques.
If only he could comprehend a knight class skill like he had previously comprehended "Slash"...
However, comprehension was sothing that could be encountered but not sought after, ultimately remaining just a thought.
Better get so rest early.
Lin Mo stuffed the last bite of bread into his mouth, took out his sleeping bag from the backpack, and prepared to sleep.
With five people taking night watch shifts tonight, rest ti could be more ample, allowing them to recover their condition as much as possible since they still had to continue fighting tomorrow.
"Sa as before, I'll take the first watch."
Bern glanced at Lin Mo who had already entered the tent to rest, then stood up to check the traps once more.
Compared to before, their current camping location was deeper into the territory, aning they might encounter more dangers.
