Just as the world’s situation was changing in turbulent waves, one of the protagonists of the era, the captain of the Roger Pirates, Gol D. Roger, was at this mont... lovestruck.
"I didn’t expect Shakky to open a shop on Pirate Island. I heard it’s really popular~"
The rest of the crew reacted about the sa.
"Let’s go see Shakky!!!"
"That’s Rocks’ territory..."
Rayleigh’s eyes shifted back and forth. He hadn’t expected that he and Roger would end up arguing because of a woman. And the cause was a flirtatious little note Shakky had stuffed to Rayleigh.
"Honestly... Orin and Shakky get along pretty well too, so why do you have to argue with of all people..."
Rayleigh felt a bit helpless, but Roger was clearly full of confidence.
"Orin and Shakky are impossible, but you’re different, Rayleigh!!!"
At this ti, in Orin’s eyes, Roger probably wasn’t thinking very clearly, or rather, he’d been completely dazzled by beauty. That opinion lasted until a few months later, when the Roger Pirates arrived at Hachinosu. The captains of the Rocks Pirates were gathered in Shakky’s establishnt. What made Orin breathe easier was that Rocks had already snapped out of Shakky’s unreasonable charm buff, and now wore a goofy grin.
"What is it, Captain Rocks? Did sothing good happen?"
Orin asked Shakky for a cup of fruit wine that cost one million Belly. He didn’t care at all about being fleeced, looking like soone with money to burn. He walked over to Rocks and couldn’t help grinning.
"So it’s Orin. With your ability, you should’ve seen it already..."
Rocks smiled, hinting at Orin’s Observation Haki that could peer into the distant future.
"My Observation Haki sees the future, not through people’s hearts~"
Orin clinked glasses with Rocks and downed it in one gulp.
"But you don’t even need Observation Haki for this. Just look at your face and you can tell what it’s about, right?"
Linlin laughed from the side.
"A woman’s intuition is pretty accurate. You’ve got yourself a woman now, huh~"
"Probably more than that. Maybe there’s even a kid already."
Orin smiled as he looked at the bewildered Whitebeard and Backin hovering around him. Watching them tease Rocks and Rocks telling them to shut up with an annoyed face, it wasn’t hard to guess—he’d probably just finished talking with Teach and his mother, and was still basking in the warm atmosphere of wife and child. Rocks, in the end, was soone who knew what mattered. He didn’t stay lost in Shakky’s unreasonable charm. Jokes are jokes, fun is fun, but wife and child co first.
Leaning against the sofa with one leg crossed over the other, Orin watched the Rocks Pirates bicker and make noise together, feeling a kind of indescribable harmony. A bunch of monsters, gathering in such a lively mood under a guy like Rocks—though who knew how long that atmosphere could last. And because of Shakky, the Roger Pirates had a very complicated relationship with the Rocks Pirates, especially the love quadrangle between Gloriosa, Roger, Shakky, and Rayleigh. Orin knew that although he seed to get along well with both Gloriosa and Shakky, there wasn’t anything that deep there. He didn’t have special feelings for either of them; with Shakky it was more of a good-friends kind of relationship. As a witness to history, Orin naturally had a detached air about him. There weren’t many things that could make him care—just a handful of people.
The drinking was in full swing when suddenly a group burst in through the door.
"Yo!!! Long ti no see, Shakky!!!"
Roger arrived at Shakky’s bar with Gaban and a bunch of crewmates. They also spotted Orin.
"Orin, you’re here too!!!"
Yo, the Pirate King is here. Orin greeted them, then saw Rocks and Roger glaring at each other, both unhappy, but unable to make a move because of Shakky’s rules. After that ca another round of chaos revolving around the love quadrangle.
"Seriously... is it really that good-looking?"
With one leg crossed, Orin said helplessly. He turned his head—and saw that Keek, who’d been pouring him drinks, had already let most of the wine overflow, hearts in his eyes.
Orin: "..."
...
Elbaf [Underworld]
Ferocious Haki crashed against each other!!!
Boom—!!!!
Crack crack crack...!!!
The entire island seed to be trembling. A giant child clung tightly to a big tree, trying not to be blown away by the aftershocks.
"This isn’t a place for kids to be, you know~"
Orin appeared out of nowhere on Loki’s head and lightly snapped his fingers. The residual shockwaves around young Loki gradually cald down.
"Is that you, Orin?!"
With his eyes wrapped in bandages, Loki stood behind the big tree, drenched in cold sweat.
"Yeah, but if you stay here, you’ll probably get into trouble, you know?"
In the distant sky, the clash of Haki between Harald and Rocks continued. Conqueror’s Haki lightning filled the heavens, practically blanketing all of Elbaf. With one hand in his pocket, long hair fluttering in the shockwaves, Orin stood unmoving. He looked toward the direction of their battle and smacked his lips.
"That’s so terrifying Conqueror’s Haki... those two guys."
Orin raised two fingers and lightly lifted them upward.
[Warp-Warp Fruit ]
"This level of battle isn’t sothing you kids can take part in. Stay farther away and behave."
In the distance, the two fought fiercely, both of them bleeding.
"So you’re just going to let the World Governnt use you like this?!"
"Answer , Harald!!!"
Harald’s face was filled with sorrow.
"For the future of the giant race, I have no choice. War cannot descend upon Elbaf again!!!"
"But doesn’t that prove that the World Governnt treats your giant race as nothing more than tools of force—slaves?!"
One was a giant king who chose compromise in the na of peace. The other was a king of the world who hated that he wouldn’t fight and angrily condemned him for failing to see the true nature of the World Governnt. Conqueror’s Haki tore heaven and earth apart.
"The World Governnt’s conditions aren’t just you—there’s also your newest mber!!!"
Whether out of guilt or simply speaking the truth, Harald suddenly said this. Rocks froze.
"You an... Orin?!"
"That’s right!!!"
Harald’s move wasn’t only to comply with the World Governnt’s orders; it was also a sideways warning to Rocks that the World Governnt had its eyes on Orin as well. And at that mont, Orin, watching from the outskirts, folded his arms and raised an eyebrow.
"The World Governnt? The Elder? Or Imu?"
The tall figure with the black gun on his back stood on Loki’s head, lost in thought. But it didn’t really matter. After all, he... would absolutely never be defeated!!!
