Now reading: Chapter 64: The Gradually Scheming Snape, and the “Defeated from Starting at Hogwarts, Logging into Elden Ring, a Action novel by WhiteDevil2056.

Arthur's words were logical and well-founded—even Snape believed them sowhat.

Even if he didn't, there was nothing he could do.

That mysterious land was supposedly in a period of recuperation, and its magical circles were said to be extrely xenophobic.

True or not, Snape had no way to verify.

In fact, everything Arthur said was nonsense he had made up.

From the mont he arrived in this world, even his identity had been arranged by the System.

Where would so "ancient eastern family" co from?

The only reason Snape accepted it so quickly was because Arthur had already proven himself exceptional.

Snape had been in the wizarding world for many years. He knew that geniuses like Hermione—brilliant young witches—appeared once every decade or two.

But soone like Arthur? You couldn't even call him a genius anymore.

The only word left was "monster."

Such a person might only appear once in centuries.

And the last one recorded in the history books… was rlin.

So Snape felt it reasonable if Arthur had co from so great family.

If not for the absurd power of his fiancée, Snape might have accepted it even faster.

He almost wanted to ask if Lady Ranni's family still lacked a son-in-law.

But thinking that didn't match his persona, he let the thought go.

"So then… what are you bringing her here for?"

Having confird Ranni's background, Snape let out a sigh of relief and asked.

"Ranni wants to attend Hogwarts. I ca to ask if the school would take her."

Arthur explained.

Snape was baffled.

"Are you sure she's here to learn and not to teach? With that level, who's teaching who?"

"Mm-hmm. She wants to accompany to school."

Arthur's answer left Snape speechless.

Got it. They're here for fun.

"Then you should be talking to Dumbledore. Why co to ?"

Arthur chuckled. "Ranni wants to be in my year. Could you help arrange that?"

Snape thought for a mont but didn't refuse.

He imdiately wrote a letter to Dumbledore explaining Ranni's situation.

Of course, he said nothing of her actual strength.

Partly because he couldn't be bothered, partly because he understood Dumbledore.

For Snape's sake, Dumbledore would surely allow her into Hogwarts.

But whether out of curiosity or his suspicious nature, Dumbledore would definitely investigate her.

Snape was very interested to see Dumbledore's expression once Ranni revealed her true abilities.

Yes, after spending enough ti with Arthur, Snape himself was growing a bit scheming.

"By the way, have you told the Granger family about her?"

Snape suddenly thought of how inseparable Hermione and Arthur had been last term and asked curiously.

"No. She ca to , and I brought her straight here."

Arthur hadn't told the Grangers yet.

Mr. and Mrs. Granger had gone back to work today—after half a month off, their patients would complain otherwise.

Hermione, rare for her, was holed up in her room reading.

Ranni hadn't had the chance to et them yet.

"Then you'd better be careful. You might just get thrown out."

Snape's tone dripped with schadenfreude.

Arthur knew exactly what he ant: a showdown between Hermione and Ranni, followed by the Grangers siding with their daughter and kicking him out.

Rolling his eyes, he said, "If I get thrown out, I'll just live with you. I'm your student anyway."

Snape's just-ford smile froze.

He waved a hand, indicating the matter was settled, and told Arthur to get lost.

Seeing that, Arthur didn't linger and left with Ranni.

Throughout the whole visit, Ranni hadn't spoken a single word.

Her only interactions with Snape were two polite nods—one for introduction, one in thanks for his help.

But Snape could see it clearly: every gesture, every movent of hers carried a natural, innate elegance.

Not Draco's shallow arrogance, but genuine noble grace.

Snape felt that even if Draco's father ca in person, compared to Ranni he would be like a firefly under the moon—utterly incomparable.

That only reinforced his certainty: Ranni was from so great family.

If Arthur knew his thoughts, he'd surely affirm them:

Yes, the Caria royal family that held half the Lands Between—that was indeed quite a "great family."

Night fell. At the Granger household dinner table, there was one extra guest tonight—

Miss Ranni.

At the mont, Arthur was explaining her background to the Granger couple, naturally using the sa fabricated story he had used at Snape's.

As for Hermione, Arthur had already told her earlier in the day.

From the mont she learned her cousin had a fiancée, the little witch had been sulking nonstop.

She herself didn't even know what she was feeling—so she just kept her head down, eating silently.

Ranni, anwhile, was enjoying the al at her leisure.

To celebrate Ranni's "new life," Arthur had personally cooked.

Coming from the barren culinary culture of the Lands Between, Ranni had never seen such variety.

The little princess's hidden foodie nature was instantly awakened.

Dish after dish disappeared into her mouth.

Yet despite eating quickly, she never seed crude—this, surely, was royal upbringing.

The Grangers, for their part, now understood her "situation" more clearly.

And they didn't know quite what to say.

Especially Mr. Granger.

He had already steeled himself for the heartbreak of losing his "little cotton jacket."

But instead, Arthur suddenly presented a fiancée.

And worst of all—his daughter was the one who had been doing the chasing.

The key thing was… they couldn't dislike Ranni at all.

What could they do? She was simply too adorable.

Though her cold expression gave her an air of aloofness, her pale face, delicate nose, and lightly flushed lips made her look like a porcelain doll.

And those pale-blue eyes—deep as the night sky, yet shining with the holiness of moonlight—were srizing.

(So say Ranni's closed eye was golden, but here the author sets both eyes as pale blue.)

Mrs. Granger had once thought her own daughter quite pretty.

Now she just wanted to know—where could she apply for a daughter like Ranni?

Hermione: ??? Let just say—thank you very much!

In the end, Mrs. Granger, as mistress of the house, made the decision: Ranni could lodge with them.

The little witch was far from pleased.

"Mom, there aren't any rooms left," she muttered.

"It's fine. I can stay in Arthur's 'Zen Garden.'"

Before Mrs. Granger could reply, Ranni had already swallowed her last bite and spoken up.

That left Hermione fuming.

When her cousin first got the Zen Garden, he hadn't shared it with her right away.

But now, with Ranni only just arriving, he had already told her such an important secret.

And the worst part—Hermione herself didn't even have a place in the Zen Garden yet!

What was with this woman?!

Could she be a half-Veela or sothing?

How else could she have chard her entire family so completely?
