This distance is an insurmountable gap.
Even if the monster were a humanoid T-Rex, it could only stare helplessly from the ground, unable to touch them at all.
"I want to see just how tough you are!"
A flash of fierceness crossed Captain Hu’s eyes as he shouted into his headset:
"Keep suppressing with the machine gun, prepare the rocket pods! Blow him to pieces!"
"And prepare two neural inhibitor rounds, just in case."
However, just as he gave the order.
The previously motionless Fang Cheng, standing like a human target, suddenly moved.
His body flickered like lightning, quickly taking two steps back, evading the dense barrage of bullets aid at him.
Then his right foot stomped hard on the ground, shattering the concrete beneath.
His right hand pulled back simultaneously, muscles taut like a bow at full draw.
In the searchlight’s beam, Captain Hu could vaguely make out that the guy seed to be holding a... dagger.
A regular tactical dagger?
Captain Hu was stunned for a mont, then a sense of absurdity welled up inside him.
Is this guy crazy?
Trying to attack an ard helicopter with a tiny piece of tal from over fifty ters away?
Does he think this is a movie...
Before the thought even finished.
Bang—
A muffled boom akin to thunder resounded through the air.
Fang Cheng’s arm swung vigorously, throwing the dagger.
The motion was so extre, it seed less a throw and more like a cannon firing.
The mont the dagger left his hand, its speed created such intense friction with the air that the blade turned red-hot.
Swoosh—
There was no ti to react.
A red glimr like an infrared-guided hypersonic missile ripped through the fifty ters of night sky in an instant.
Even behind bulletproof glass, Captain Hu could feel the overwhelming aura of death.
The sensation of falling into an icy abyss made his hair stand on end.
"Get down!!"
He instinctively lunged to the side, pushing the pilot in the seat beside him hard as he did so.
Thud—
The composite glass, sturdy enough to withstand heavy machine-gun fire, seed as fragile as paper against the dagger.
The red glimr pierced straight through, its montum unabated.
Captain Hu’s push allowed the pilot to narrowly escape a lethal fate.
Yet the dagger still pierced through his left shoulder as if slicing through tofu, then shot into the chest of the officer behind him.
Finally, with a clang, it embedded deeply into the Kevlar armor at the back of the cabin wall.
Buzz—
Even though it was embedded several inches into the wall, the visible handle continued to vibrate violently, emitting a chilling buzz.
"Ah!!"
Cries of agony erupted in the cabin.
Captain Hu clutched his pierced shoulder, his face contorted in pain.
He turned to glance at the still-smoking dagger, fear filling his eyes.
What kind of strength is this?!
If the handle hadn’t halted its trajectory, this strike might have pierced directly through the entire helicopter.
In his years of capturing mutants, he’d never seen such a simple yet brutal offensive technique.
This wasn’t a thrown knife; it was a portable electromagnetic railgun!
If he hadn’t reacted quickly enough, that dagger might have split the pilot’s head open like a waterlon.
Captain Hu looked down at his wound.
The edges of the pierced blood hole were squirming with countless tiny granulations, intertwining to stop the bleeding at a speed visible to the naked eye.
Though the opponent was formidable, he too was far from weak.
As a team leader of the Dark Blade Team, his physical fitness and neural response had been specially fortified with drugs. He was a fierce character who had erged from a mountain of corpses and sea of blood.
"Whew..."
With the pain slightly reduced, Captain Hu gritted his teeth, attempting to stand up to take command again.
Luckily, the pilot wasn’t dead, and they still had air superiority...
Bang—
Just as he exhaled halfway through his breath.
A crisp gunshot abruptly pierced through the helicopter rotor’s roar.
A burst of blood flowered suddenly on the front-line pilot’s bulletproof helt.
Then the blood flower exploded, rapidly spreading.
It was clearly an extrely precise bullet hole through the center of the forehead.
The pilot didn’t even groan before his body went limp.
His hands, losing control, unconsciously pushed the collective control stick forward.
The massive aircraft instantaneously went out of control, shaking violently like a drunkard.
"Damn!"
Captain Hu was flung forward, his head hitting the dashboard.
The firing aerial cannons...
He couldn’t bother to curse but imdiately pushed away the pilot’s blood-spattered corpse.
He lunged into the pilot’s seat, grabbed the cyclic stick, trying to stabilize this out-of-control iron beast.
"It’s an ambush sniper!"
His eyes were bloodshot, staring fiercely at the roof terrace ruins below, searching for the shooter.
And just behind a broken wall on the north side of the helipad, Eagle Eye was gently retracting the smoking gun barrel.
When Fang Cheng issued the retreat command earlier, he didn’t choose to follow the others.
Besides being too far from the entrance at his position.
He knew very well that facing aerial firepower in such an open terrain without special abilities, simply running wouldn’t cut it.
Soone had to stay behind to counterattack.
And the only effective way to counter the iron lump dominating the airspace was to take out its operator.
Fang Cheng watched this scene, a hint of approval flashing in his eyes.
This guy is really calm and rational, thinking the sa as him.
Note that the ard helicopter is hovering at a ridiculously high altitude.
With his current bouncing strength, he can jump up to at most fifteen ters from the ground.
If he combines the "Absolute Control" and "Bounce" skill effects, he can indeed try sprinting upward for a hundred ters limits.
But the opponent wouldn’t give him ti to charge, nor are there proper leverage points around.
So, he changed his strategy.
Earlier, when he went to retrieve the communicator from Black Mamba’s body, he secretly stashed the dagger in his sleeve.
He planned to rely on the Kirin Arm’s prowess, with its fivefold strength increase, to execute a fatal flying knife attack.
Unfortunately, Captain Hu reacted too fast, and with excellent physical fitness, managed to dodge the critical hit in the nick of ti.
But it doesn’t matter, if once doesn’t work, then twice!
At this mont, the helicopter drew an "8" in the sky but finally managed to regain balance.
After all, Captain Hu is a versatile king of special forces, his piloting skills aren’t bad.
But now, he was almost mad with anger.
The enemy was yet not eliminated, and he had already suffered two consecutive losses, causing his emotions to spiral out of control.
"The sniper is at two o’clock, behind the broken wall!"
He roared into the communicator, his voice raised from anger:
"Forget about the big guy, take out the sniper, shoot him to pieces!"
The machine gunner at the side hatch received the order and promptly turned the gun.
Rat-a-tat-tat-tat-tat-tat–
Dense tongues of fire instantly covered the broken wall where Eagle Eye was hiding.
Bricks flew, and the top structure of the cover was shaved off within seconds.
Eagle Eye had no choice but to hug the gun and roll on the ground clumsily, suppressed to the point where he couldn’t lift his head.
Seeing this, Fang Cheng didn’t stand aside watching.
His gaze fird as he quickly bent down to grab a piece of concrete debris the size of a grinding stone from the ground.
Sitting in the pilot’s seat, Captain Hu caught a glimpse of this scene out of the corner of his eye, his heart skipped a beat.
The small dagger earlier had the effect akin to an anti-material sniper rifle.
If they replace it with such a huge rock, even if the helicopter doesn’t crash, it will be scrapped.
"Dream on!"
Captain Hu’s visage distorted, his fingers slamd the red firing button on top of the control stick.
Whoosh whoosh–
Two 70mm "Nine-headed Serpent" rockets trailed lengthy tail flas, shrieking death as they headed straight for Fang Cheng’s area.
Boom!!
The massive explosion swallowed the center of the roof terrace instantly.
Flas shot up to the sky, and the gigantic shockwave blasted the floorboards of that area apart.
Amidst the haze, the terrifying tall silhouette vanished within the blaze.
"Dead?"
Captain Hu gasped, his eyes fixed on the swirling smoke, attempting to find the target’s corpse.
However, when the dust cleared slightly.
There was nothing there but a blasted hole and ruins.
No bloodstains, no body.
"Where’s the guy?!"
Captain Hu widened his bloodshot eyes, a dreadful premonition clawing up his spine instantly.
