Fang Cheng was holding the steering wheel with one hand, moving with the stop-and-go traffic.
The morning ti passed by productively.
After finishing his morning exercise, he took a cold shower to wash away the sweat.
As he ca out, Ah Le had just returned with a hearty breakfast.
After devouring twenty large at buns along with other snacks, his once growling stomach was finally filled, leaving him feeling imnsely comfortable.
After breakfast, he tidied up briefly.
He then changed into clean clothes and went out, planning to go to Lin Chuqiao’s ho as agreed yesterday to pick her up for "work."
Ah Le was also soone who couldn’t sit still; even though he was still injured, he gritted his teeth and went out after breakfast.
He said he was going to find that small-ti boss called "Rat Qiang," wanting to quickly uncover the mole in the gang.
As for Shen Wei, although his broken leg had been repaired, he certainly couldn’t set foot on the ground for the next few days and could only stay quietly at ho to heal.
Anyway, Big Hamr and Monkey were watching around the tubular building, so there was no need to worry about safety.
Thinking about Big Hamr and Monkey, Fang Cheng’s brows relaxed slightly, then a trace of helplessness flashed through.
These two guys had been on stakeout near Old Factory Street for a whole week, taking turns without stopping, handling all their eating, drinking, and other needs in that little black room, their eyes as dark as panda eyes.
Originally, according to the plan, the new mbers recruited by Professor would arrive in East Capital, allowing these two to take a good rest for a few days.
However, during last night’s fight, Fatty Hu, Fei Ying, and Eagle Eye all got injured.
Old Chen, though lightly wounded, also had to help Professor handle the aftermath.
Looks like Big Hamr and Monkey will have to endure for a bit longer; the only thing to do is to later give them a bit more in their bonuses.
Just as he was thinking, a crisp ringing sound ca from the bag on the passenger seat.
Fang Cheng turned his head to look, reaching out to unzip the bag and take out the phone.
The screen displayed the na "Professor."
He pressed the answer button, opened the speakerphone and tossed it onto the center console.
"Chairman."
Professor’s steady voice ca through:
"We’re settled in. For safety, we didn’t return to that previous hotel. Instead, we found a secluded inn in the Jiangbei Suburb called ’Yunlin Cottage.’
This area usually has no tourists, surrounded by forests and farmland, very hidden."
"Hmm, well done."
Fang Cheng praised when he heard this.
Last night, during the evacuation from Silver Wing Building, they split into two groups.
Fang Cheng took Shen Wei back to Old Factory Street, while Professor led the others from the Illuminati, escorting the severely injured Fire Dragon and three other rescued mutants, leaving first.
"How about that Red Hair?"
Thinking of this, Fang Cheng then asked.
"The situation’s not too optimistic."
Professor’s voice lowered slightly:
"Fire Dragon has three shrapnel pieces in him, one lodged near the lung, very deep."
"I contacted two doctors from black clinics I’m familiar with, but they were too scared to touch it upon seeing the injury, fearing the responsibility if he died on the operating table."
"As for regular hospitals... definitely can’t go, it would be walking right into the trap."
Fang Cheng looked at the road ahead, maintaining a calm expression:
"Then just leave it to fate. If he survives, it’s his good fortune; if he dies, he deserves it."
For such rcenaries with blood on their hands, Fang Cheng had no extra sympathy.
"I understand."
Over the line, Professor pushed his glasses up, a shrewd tone in his voice:
"However, I still want to try my best."
"After all, he has the overseas account password of the Masked Guest in his head. If we can successfully get that money, our Illuminati won’t have to worry about funding for at least a few years."
"As you wish."
Fang Cheng was noncommittal.
While money was important to him, it wasn’t indispensable.
But since Professor was intent on it, he was happy to see it happen.
"There’s one more thing."
Professor seed hesitant, pausing for two seconds before continuing:
"Those three mutants rescued from Bloodthorn last night... I’d like to hear your opinion on how to handle them?"
