Chapter 64: Loxi’s Workshop, Obtaining the Desert Eagle

Ryan carefully considered Fina’s suggestion.

He realized that it was actually a pretty good solution.

After all, as long as he used firearms, it was inevitable that people would discover them.

When that ti ca, relying on secrecy alone would not be a good option.

He could just use Loxi’s help to bring firearms into the open.

During their earlier conversation, Fina had already told Ryan about Loxi’s identity.

Loxi’s famous skill in making magic tools could also help divert other people’s attention away from him.

“It’s not impossible for to sell you one, but...”

Ryan spoke slowly.

“W-What condition?”

Loxi hurriedly asked.

As long as she could get a Desert Eagle, she was willing to pay any price.

“You’ll need to sign a contract with and promise not to tell anyone that you bought the Desert Eagle from .”

Ryan stated his condition.

“Uh... th-this... what if soone asks about it?”

“You can say you made it yourself, or that you bought it at a stall. Either answer is fine.”

Loxi was a little puzzled.

Why did Ryan not want his na to spread far and wide?

A magic tool this groundbreaking was enough to make Ryan famous across the continent.

Still, at the mont, all her thoughts were fixed on research, so she did not dwell on Ryan’s condition too much.

“All right, no problem. I agree.”

Loxi accepted at once.

Thinking about it that way, Fina’s fiancé seed pretty decent.

Loxi had originally assud Ryan would use this chance to impose so sort of condition.

She had not expected him to rely ask her to keep the Desert Eagle’s origin secret.

That made her feel Ryan was actually a very good person.

Ryan noticed that Nika and the other two girls had already co downstairs.

Presumably, Nika had beco worried because he had not returned for so long.

As it happened, this gave him the chance to introduce Nika to Fina.

“Master.”

“Mister Ryan.” x2

Ryan nodded and said with a smile, “You’re here.”

He then began introducing them to Fina. “Fina, this is Nika, whom I told you about earlier. The one beside her, who looks very much like her, is Nika’s twin sister, Nila. And the last one is Isabella, the eldest young lady of the Jurgen Family.”

“This is my fiancée, Fina, and that is Fina’s classmate, Loxi.”

“Hello.” x5

After greeting one another, everyone sat down.

Once they were seated, Ryan felt gazes coming from all directions.

He looked around.

He discovered that all those gazes ca from young n.

They were glaring at him with obvious jealousy.

To be more precise, they were staring at the five girls around him.

Whether it was Fina or Nika, both were stunning beauties.

For an ordinary man, having even one by his side would already be impressive.

Yet Ryan had no fewer than five beautiful won around him.

That made them insanely jealous.

After understanding the looks in their eyes, Ryan simply shook his head and ignored them.

At that mont, Nika was nervously looking at Fina.

So this is Master’s official fiancée, my mistress. I hope she’s easy to get along with.

Nika prayed inwardly.

She treasured her days by Ryan’s side very much.

Ryan’s appearance had been like sunlight, illuminating her life.

During the days she had followed him, she had received treatnt far better than any slave ever could.

She believed that in this world, no one would ever treat her better than Ryan did.

That was why she wanted so badly to stay by his side forever.

And if she wanted to remain beside Ryan forever, then she needed Fina’s approval.

Otherwise, Fina might ask Ryan to send her away.

Nika absolutely did not want that to happen.

“You must be Nika, right? Ryan told about you. Thank you for taking care of him during this ti. You’ve worked hard.”

Fina spoke gently.

“M-Mistress, you’re too kind. I’m Master’s slave. Taking care of Master is my duty.”

Nika replied cautiously.

“You don’t need to be so nervous. Although I’m Ryan’s fiancée, I can’t stay by his side because I’m still at the academy. Having you take care of him puts at ease. Ryan said he doesn’t treat you as a slave, but as a companion. You can just call Fina. That would make very happy.”

Fina spoke warmly.

“Uh...”

Nika froze in disbelief.

Then she looked toward Ryan.

Ryan nodded encouragingly at her.

With Ryan’s encouragent, Nika relaxed.

“F-Fina.”

“Mm.”

Fina smiled and nodded.

“While I’m not by Ryan’s side, I hope you’ll continue taking good care of him.”

“Yes, M... Fina.”

Nika agreed.

She had almost said “Mistress,” but imdiately rembered Fina had asked her to change the way she addressed her, so she hastily corrected herself.

Ryan let out a sigh of relief.

Nika and Fina were getting along quite well.

That eased the tension in his heart.

What he had feared most was Fina refusing to accept Nika’s presence. That would have put him in a very difficult position.

If this had been on Blue Star in his previous life,

it would have been like the wife and the mistress coming face to face.

Forget sitting together and talking calmly. It would have been good enough if they did not start fighting.

But in this world,

such a situation was clearly quite normal.

Both Fina and Nika had accepted it very quickly.

Thank heaven for another world!

Ryan thought silently to himself.

Not long afterward, the staff brought over the dishes Loxi had ordered.

Since Ryan and his group of four had joined them,

the dishes Loxi had ordered earlier were not enough.

So Fina added several more dishes, all of them Ryan’s favorites.

She had always rembered what Ryan liked to eat.

The reason Nika and the other two girls had co downstairs was partly because Ryan had been gone for so long, and partly because they were hungry.

As they ate,

Fina and Loxi also learned about Isabella’s experiences.

When the two of them heard about what Isabella’s eldest and second uncles had done, they imdiately started cursing them out.

Fina, like Ryan, had grown up in an Orphanage and had never encountered such things before, so she only scolded them a few tis.

Loxi, however, was different.

Because she belonged to the Cat Spirit Tribe.

The Cat Spirit Tribe was a relatively large race.

Within that race, the tribespeople were all very friendly.

Even when competing for the position of tribal chief, they competed through strength alone.

Those who lost would admit defeat and then focus on assisting the chief in developing the tribe.

That was the reason the Cat Spirit Tribe had beco such a powerful race.

So when Loxi heard about the internal situation of the Jurgen Family today, she truly could not help but curse aloud.

How had a family like that beco a top-tier family?

Loxi glanced at Ryan.

That look was full of contempt.

It was as if she were saying: Look at you humans, always fighting among yourselves.

Ryan felt offended.

Yet in the face of Loxi’s contempt, he had no way to explain himself.

Because he really was Human Race, and the Human Race really did love internal strife.

In truth, it was still because the Human Race was just too nurous.

Across the entire continent, the Human Race made up more than seventy percent of the population.

Although the average human lifespan was shorter than that of other races, the growth speed of humans was indeed the fastest among all races.

Take the Elf Race, for example. At one hundred years old, they were still not considered adults. At two hundred years old, they had only just co of age.

In two hundred years, the Human Race would already have passed through three or four generations.

Ryan had nothing to say about that, so he simply continued enjoying the al in silence.

Ti passed quickly when enjoying delicious food.

“Mister Ryan, shall we go to my workshop?”

Loxi proposed.

She could not wait a mont longer. She wanted the Desert Eagle right now.

“You even have a workshop?”

Ryan asked in surprise.

Looks really could be deceiving.

“That’s right. Since you want this kept secret, why not go to my workshop? It’s my private territory. I usually research magic tools there, and no outsiders ever co in.”

“No problem.”

After a brief thought, Ryan agreed.

There were too many people at the inn, and news could easily leak out.

Since Loxi had a workshop, Ryan was more than happy to go there.

Twenty minutes later,

under Loxi’s lead, everyone arrived at her workshop.

Loxi’s magic tool workshop was a two-story stone building located on the edge of Lisbon’s noble district. Its outer walls were pale gray, and the roof was covered with dark red tiles that gave off a cold sheen under the moonlight.

The first floor was the workshop used for research. The floor was laid with bluestone slabs, with tiny tal fragnts embedded in the gaps between them.

Two rows of iron chains hung from the ceiling, and from those chains were suspended twelve glass-shaded oil lamps. Their dim yellow light illuminated the entire space.

Against the wall on the left stood six oak workbenches. Their surfaces were made of thick steel plates, scarred with scratches and scorch marks.

All kinds of tools were spread across the workbenches. There were twenty silver carving knives of varying sizes, their handles wrapped in dark leather, along with all kinds of monster materials.

At the center of the workshop stood a circular tal furnace.

On the right side of the workshop was a wooden bookshelf filled with books and blueprints.

The top shelf held books on magical theory, including 《Fundantals of Elental Transformation》 and 《Analysis of Runic Structures》. The lettering on so of the spines had already faded.

The lower shelves held experintal notebooks with cardboard covers. The pages inside had yellowed with age. They were filled with sketches and densely packed annotations in ink. On so pages, the edges had been soaked by liquid, causing the writing to blur and run.

Ryan looked around in astonishnt.

He had not expected Loxi’s workshop to be this large.

It seed Loxi truly was a very famous magic tool maker.

“Hehe, not bad, right? This is where I usually research magic tools.”

Loxi said proudly.

Seeing the surprise in Ryan’s eyes gave Loxi a sense of victory.

“There’s a second floor too?”

Nika noticed the staircase in the corner.

“That’s right. The second floor is for resting.”

Loxi nodded.

Since the resting area was more private, Loxi did not invite Ryan and the others upstairs.

After Ryan finished looking around the first floor, Loxi took out the contract she had prepared.

“Ryan, the contract is ready.”

Ryan accepted the contract, read through it once, and after finding no problems with it, signed his na.

The contract turned into two rays of light and instantly flew into Loxi’s forehead before vanishing.

Ryan directly exchanged a Desert Eagle from the System.

“Here.”

“Wah!”

Loxi cried out in surprise and hurried forward two steps to catch the Desert Eagle Ryan tossed to her.

Ryan might not care, but Loxi was incredibly excited.

At last, she could study it properly.

A besotted smile spread across Loxi’s face.

When the others saw her expression, goosebumps rose all over their skin.

“That’s just how Loxi is. Once she gets absorbed in research, she always makes that face, and she won’t listen to anything anyone says. Let’s leave first.”

Fina shook her head as she spoke.

Ryan nodded and left together with Fina.
