Capítulo 1846: Chapter 1845: Formidable Foe and the Missing Princess

Iluna gently patted her back, and Luviya coughed a few more tis, forcibly swallowing the blood in her mouth before rinsing her mouth with the tea Shard handed her. She was not a delicate girl:

“Five powers surpassing the Thirteen Rings, not even including himself, and that’s just what I saw.

First, there’s the Evil Object – Door in the Bottle that Sister Delphine saw from Laster Edwards’ mory, which possesses self-awareness; the Prophet’s initial madness was related to it;

The second is one-third of a pale skull, I don’t know what it is, but it shouldn’t be a relic. It is related to death. When I saw it, I felt my entire body freeze;

The third is a book, a book held by many souls, seemingly endowed with the power of destiny, possibly Angel-Level (Rank 1), or even Unclassified Level (Rank 0);

Then there is a person locked up, confined in a coffin. Sothing is very wrong with him; ti and space overlap on his body. He seems to be in the present but also in the past. I don’t know what he’s experienced, possibly related to experints and Human Alchemy;

Finally, there are the cards…..”

Shard suddenly looked at Luviya, the purple-eyed girl shook her head:

“Not the Impermanence Cards, I recognize those cards. These are the Angel-Level Relic Poetry Cards he took when he defected from the society. Shard, do you rember during the Night of the Eclipse, he once summoned monsters with a deck of cards?”

Shard nodded:

“Of course I rember, we speculated that was his Alchemical Item back then.”

“Later the Church verified with us, actually when he defected, he took an Angel-Level relic from the society. But the society didn’t notify the Church and the Academy for the sake of reputation.”

Shard and Iluna’s expressions were the sa at this mont.

“There is only one Poetry Card, said to be a replica of a unique card from the Fourth Era, only this one beca a relic later. Its function is to summon heroes once recorded in poems. It’s extrely suitable for Puppeteers like Dorothy, who use storytelling as their core Enlightennt Elent. If I guessed correctly, Laplace Howard’s deck was developed based on this Angel-Level Relic. As for the Poetry Cards themselves, the society’s containnt records say they can summon demigods.”

“What?!”

“Don’t worry, summoning past heroes requires very strict conditions. The card is currently inactive, so I don’t know how he plans to use it. But it is certain that the summoned ancient heroes will be formidable.”

The atmosphere was heavy for a mont. The Thirteen-Ring Diviner was already difficult to deal with on his own, and now coupled with these elents, the trouble is even greater.

Luviya continued:

“Additionally, before that Diviner arrived at Green Lake, the society considered the Green Lake Central Island itself to be quite a significant problem, almost like a natural disaster. We must be aware of this when dealing with Laplace Howard.”

If relying solely on Shard himself for the impending Green Lake battle, he couldn’t think of any solution other than burning divinity, and it might not be just a single drop of divinity. But now, with several Grand Witches, a fully empowered Church of the Five Gods and the Three Major Academies, and even with the Mirror Keeper willing to help in secret, there is the possibility of resolving it with his own power.

“Fortunately, Shard resolved the Demon in advance, otherwise the five challenges would have beco six.”

Iluna wanted to lighten the mood, but Luviya remained deeply troubled:

“The most important thing now is to figure out what exactly I saw.”

Shard indicated she need not be tense:

“The matter of the Door in the Bottle, during the battle on the Night of the Eclipse, the Church already noticed it; the relic held by many souls is an Angel-Level Relic, the Soul Storybook, think of it as the enhanced full-page Puppeteer’s Script effective on souls, I can tell you specific details later; the person in the coffin I don’t know, but he might be one of the Edwards, but…..”

The current situation of all the Edwards, Elder Nicholas Green almost spoke of all, thereby narrowing down the suspects to very few, almost only one: the third generation’s Firstborn, rumored to have died young, but actually experinted with the Elixir of Immortality in a well underground, Envy Edwards.

“On the night of hunting the Demon, I once entered the Edwards’ Old House’s dried-up well in Mr. Soren Green’s dream and saw strange murals. Half depicted Envy Edwards forcibly ingesting potions for experints, and half showed him passing through doors, with the lines depicting his body becoming increasingly indistinct.”

Iluna and Luviya exchanged glances:

.

“Besides the Elixir of Immortality experint, he has gone through other things.”

“It’s hard to say… Let’s talk about other things first. The matter of the , the Prophet’s Society is probably more anxious to handle it than we are, after all, it’s a relic housed by the Society.”

“Evil Object – Door in the Bottle, Relic – Soul Storybook, suspected Envy Edwards, Relic – Poetry Cards… What about the third of the skull then?”

Iluna was not surprised Shard knew so much, after all, he had always been like this.

“The skull…”

He stroked the cat and sighed:

“Before the showdown at Green Lake, I’ll make sure it leaves Laplace Klein Howard’s possession.”

Shard and Luviya and Iluna discussed the results of their divination all morning, and it was quite clear that without leveraging the Church’s power, even with the witches’ support, achieving victory would be very difficult.

Luviya and Iluna summarized the information that could be disclosed to the Church, with Iluna revealing it to enhance her weight as “Balance’s Chosen” in the Church of the Five Gods. anwhile, during the discussion, Iluna vaguely ntioned she recently had a strange dream:

“I seed to dream that Princess Angelina Cavendish was standing barefoot on the Lake Goddess’ Lake Cherub and was talking about strange things like the Chosen One of the Witch.”

She thought this would spark a heated discussion between Shard and Luviya, but found they weren’t interested at all:

“Let’s solve the matters here first. When I acquired the , didn’t I also learn from the ancient astrologer Mr. Euclid that the Moon’s Chosen One would stay at No. 6, Saint Delan Square? These unmaterialized events, we’re not sure they will indeed occur. Iluna, it’s just a dream, even if it’s true, it shouldn’t be discussed now. As for Angelina… I’ll keep an eye on her.”

After having lunch at the Green Lake Hotel at noon, Iluna and Luviya left separately, and Shard found the witches busy in the basent, informing them of the new information gathered in the morning. As for this Monday afternoon, he went to the City of Glass across the lake. On one hand, to visit Margaret, who was frightened last night, and on the other hand, to probe the progress of the Church’s investigation into the .

Although he was busy all day at Green Lake, Shard didn’t forget that he had to make up for the opera house date with Lecia tonight and the fairy tale study session that was delayed on Saturday.

To not miss the ti, he said goodbye to the reluctant Blonde Princess with Mia at five o’clock in the afternoon and returned ho. Lecia said she would send a carriage around seven to pick Shard up for the opera, so after dinner, Shard waited at ho.

But he waited until the sun went down, and the gas streetlights around the square gradually illuminated the edges of Saint Delan Square under the night sky in a serene atmosphere, yet he still did not see any sign of the carriage.

Wearing a black suit, hands behind his back, pacing in the living room, Shard gradually felt a bad premonition. He glanced at the wall clock in the corner, watching the second and minute hands move towards the top until they overlapped at the “12.”

The chi of the city bell tower sounded from afar, and Shard halted, his expression solemn:

“It’s seven o’clock, neither Lecia nor the carriage has co… It seems sothing has happened.”

“Why isn’t she just late?”

“She” asked softly.

“Regarding an appointnt, Lecia would even prefer to be early by an hour, she can’t possibly be late.”

Letting a confused Mia stay at ho, Shard quickly went downstairs and out the door, transforming into a silver cat in the square’s shadows.

Instead of taking the usual paths, he swiftly climbed up the steam pipes along his ho’s exterior wall, reaching the rooftop. He glanced at the spot where long-haired Luviya sat in the dream, then leapt from the back of the house.

Sothing seed off with the Yordle Palace. While nothing appeared unusual from the outside, upon entering the palace gardens under the cover of fences, he found the royal guards were being moved around suspiciously. To allow Shard to visit her at any ti, Lecia had shown him the duty and guard schedule for Yordle Palace, and the current state was clearly not right.

He quickly approached the building where Lecia’s bedroom was located, using the moonlight as cover, and climbed up the exterior pipes to the upper floor.

Peeking through the window glass, he found the room was quite crowded, but Lecia was noticeably absent. Lecia’s maid, Miss Weiss Dur, was being questioned by a man whom Shard didn’t recognize — he looked like an MI6 colleague — while the chief steward maid of Yordle Palace was leading a team of maids inspecting each corner of the room.

They weren’t rummaging through Lecia’s belongings but seed to be searching for clues. No one noticed the silver cat’s presence outside the window, and although the glass was soundproof, Shard could faintly hear words like “disappearance.”

The cat pondered outside the window for a mont, then turned to leave. Restoring his human form in the shadows of an alley off Silver Cross Avenue, Shard imdiately headed to Cat Tail Alley No. 221 in the University District under the cover of night.
